Aged 46, size 8. Wedding in Sept. Is it a bit prom like, youthful, mutton / lamb?

The first one. Try it on though as I find their dresses come up small.

The first one is beautiful. I don't agree with putting age limits on clothes anyway, people should wear what they like but I think it's really classy anyway and not particularly 'young' looking.

First wedding dress option is beautiful. Throw in a nice fascinator and a lovely pair of shoes and you will look fab. I particularly like your first choice because it is the kind of dress that you could wear on another occasion too. Enjoy your big day when it arrives 🎉

I agree! The first one is very very safe. It doesn't look special to me.

Going against the majority here, but I prefer the 2nd dress. I actually think this is more elegant. The first is nice but it's not youthful, if anything it's more mature and very mother of the bride in style and shape.

The first one with the right shoes, accessories hair and makeup would look beautiful. And you can buy very similar dresses in many bridal shops.

Both are gorgeous.

dresses don’t need to cost more than X or Y - it’s all about how you feel in it.

It’s perfect. The one you have already bought is lovely too, i definitely prefer the first one though, you will look amazing in both tbh, wear which ever one makes you feel will make your wedding the day you dreamed off. x

Not keen on the neckline on the first & think that lace can be aging.

No, it’s lovely. A nice heel and some boho-type flowers in your hair (or a classy diamondy comb if that’s more your thing) and you are golden

It’s not a wedding dress though or even like , it’s a day dress. If you have a luxurious venue then you need to dress for the setting.

Yeah I agree. It's something a guest could wear, but I don't think it's really special. I'm the same age as you and would think my mum more likely to choose it than me.

If it was, that dress was terrible and looks nothing like the OP's choices.

They aren't similar and the dress on the other thread is one of the worst I've seen on here.

Either will look stunning. You could get some beautiful accessories to wear with them if you want to glam them up further. I got really fancy spectacular earrings for my wedding day (albeit at an outlet) and I love wearing them now on special nights, you'll not do that with the wedding dress!

The second one is a fab dress too (pictured on very much the wrong model in the wrong size). I have it in a different colour and wear it to weddings as a guest - I have sometimes found myself not the only one at an event wearing it (although luckily never in the same colour).

It's absolutely stunning, and I usually hate wedding dresses 🤣 perfect for any age I'd say.
