I'm not happy with how she did my nails

I go to a lovely place for my nails for years and this time I went to another girl. She was very lovely and took her time but I feel my nails look like I could have done it myself. I paid 61 pounds including nail art and am happy to pay this as the nail art is normally really good. I get them done once a month

I'll post a picture of what I wanted versus what I got. Maybe I'm being unreasonable or just need to get used to them

If they don't reply, I fear I'm going to have to go somewhere else and pay this evening 😕

I would. I wouldn't go to the wedding with those nails. I would have stopped her after the first finger though tbh. It's a strange design to start with.

Flippingflamingo · 06/06/2024 17:01

I don’t think they are that bad that I would be rushing around in an evening to get them fixed.

They aren’t worth £61 though so I would definitely say you are unhappy and schedule an appointment to have them redone for free after the wedding.

Just for reference, I have short nails, but mine are much narrower than yours and so look longer. Yours are the total wrong shape for this style sadly.

To be honest it's the design, the nail tech just did what you asked, but on short nails. Never go for horizontal lines, it's like if you're short and overweight you can't wear horizontal stripes, you would've been better off with this...

Maaaaaaaaaaaate 🙈😂😂😂😂😂😂

Go back!

Sorry but I 🤣🤣 too.
It literally looks like smarties.

I would go back. If she had a problem with the length then she could have said that it wasn't possible

I think a lot of the problem is you've got different nail shape / sizes

I keep my nails very short but good nail artists know how to make it look tapered (eg leaving the edges blank in an inconspicuous way). This one just looks very chunky and blobby like she filled in the lines on a colouring book. The black line is also way too high up which makes it look even more squashed

ChimneySweepLiverpool · 06/06/2024 17:09

The girl was so lovely and gave me a lovely arm massage at the end so I think I was seduced by the biscuits and the massage 😜

I'm sorry but I agree. At £61 you were robbed. Anyway, everything crossed you get it sorted tonight

She didn't though, the colour and thickness is wrong and she didn't put the colour in the right place. It's badly done

catin8oots · 06/06/2024 17:23

Terrible design.

Awful execution.

She should have told you that would look shit on your nails.

Go back. Demand (ask nicely) for your money back or a remove and redo.

Also, £61?? Absolute pisstake.

GoodnightJude1 · 06/06/2024 17:26

Oh OP 😂

I’m sorry but you need to up your ‘confrontation’ game.
You have to remember that YOU are paying THEM and if you’re not happy with what you’ve paid for you are well within your rights to say so. You don’t ever need to be rude…just a very polite…”I tend to eat my smarties, not wear them” 😬

Hope you get them sorted!

wearemodernidiots · 06/06/2024 17:36

KevinDeBrioche · 06/06/2024 15:26

That’s not a good design at all but if that’s what you asked for it’s a difficult situation to ask them to fix for free

This.

TBH, the model and your own picture aren't very nice looking imo. But you clearly liked the look and that's what it looks like on your length of nail. Don't see how that's the nail tech's fault tbh.

PuddlesPityParty · 06/06/2024 17:46

Phone them fgs or go in

GoodHeavens99 · 06/06/2024 18:02

I'm not keen on the nails, but you have the most beautiful hands!

bbq007 · 06/06/2024 18:04

They remind me of bertie bassetts !!

BuggeryBumFlaps · 06/06/2024 18:06

£61! Ouch, that's expensive even for an amazing job.

You're right, they look bulky and very mature. I'd go back and ask for them to be redone

ChimneySweepLiverpool · 06/06/2024 18:07

I rang about half an hour ago and they said they're looking into it and will get back to me so I don't think they'll be squeezing me in tonight anyway!

Looking in to it! Didn’t you reply with “What’s to look in to. Can you fix it or not?”

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 06/06/2024 18:13

I used to have gel nails regularly. That design really isn’t that tricky to do… trust me.

But as PP’s have said she should do one nail first to see if you like it and then continue.

I’d go there in person tonight or tomorrow and demand it’s rectified.

CoastalCalm · 06/06/2024 18:18

Did she do a full coat of the pale and then a half nail of orange ? I think that might be the case which is why they look wrong , she should have done half and half

annabofana · 06/06/2024 18:20

The shape isn't good.

Could you not just ask her to file them down at the sides to be be slimmer?

Also though, £60 is too much for that. That should be around £30

ChimneySweepLiverpool · 06/06/2024 18:21

@CoastalCalm She did nude one coat underneath, two coats of orange and one coat on the black line

OP posts:
tigs123 · 06/06/2024 18:24

I really think it’s both, that design would never suit your nails anyway and it’s not been done brilliantly
