I'm not happy with how she did my nails

I go to a lovely place for my nails for years and this time I went to another girl. She was very lovely and took her time but I feel my nails look like I could have done it myself. I paid 61 pounds including nail art and am happy to pay this as the nail art is normally really good. I get them done once a month

I'll post a picture of what I wanted versus what I got. Maybe I'm being unreasonable or just need to get used to them

She's gone way to thick with orange varnish. Easy but amateur mistake.

I'd agree your nails are the wrong length and shape for the nail art really. But again, someone professional and experienced could have told you and discussed options.

I get vouchers for this salon as gifts and it's my big treat every month so I really don't have 61 pounds to throw at them again

Another vote for your nails are a completely different shape. You can get them filed at the sides a bit but would need them longer to get a similar look.

Could you take it off and just paint them yourself for the wedding?

God they look horrendous. She should have adapted the style or maybe done one so you could see how different it would look. I don't particularly like the origional style either but honestly they're terrible. I'd nail varnish remove it and paint them nude yourself.

It is gel polish so I would have to pay to remove them and then buy polish to paint them

No that's bad. Even though your nails are different shapes she's started the orange way too low down your nail bed and it's also too thick.
it's also a really ugly style in the first place so please go back but get them to do something nicer this time

ETA the colour is wrong too. It's more like peach in the picture and orange on your nails.

Send them an email with the photos and say the orange is too bulky. Ask if you can have it removed at least for free?

I'm sorry but they look a bit like minions 😳 how long ago did she do them? If today then I might complain and ask to be painted one colour or something.

Your pointer finger is really bad on that side. The black line isn’t even and the orange is wobbly at the bottom too.

You should go back, point out the problems and ask for them to be redone (free of charge). They may only agree to redo the messy ones, so you’ll be stuck with the same design though. You could argue that they are all messy due to how thick she has applied it.

She did two layers of the orange but the second layer was with another brush (not the applicator) and she seemed to put loads on. She did one layer of the black and it's almost transparent in spots

My nail lady would do one & ask if it was looking how I wanted before doing the others

Your nails are a totally different shape

She should have started the orange much lower down to compensate

And the black lines aren't the same on each nail, different spacing, some are curved a bit

That’s not a good design at all but if that’s what you asked for it’s a difficult situation to ask them to fix for free

I think you can reasonably argue for a free polish removal. No harm in asking for a free re-do but I think they would be reasonable to say no.

£61 is ridiculous unless you're in London. I paid £43 for my last set and had nail art and had a plex treatment to strengthen my nails.

The design doesn't suit your nail shape and the orange looks very thick.

They look awful, email them I'm sure they will want to rectify them if you're unhappy and keep your custom (esp at £60 per month!)

It was previously 56 and I still have vouchers to use up but now that it's raised to 61 ill be then moving on!

Combination of issues here - she's done a bad job, especially with that chunky orange. It's totally disproportionate and rounds off your nails terribly. She should have advised you that the style wouldn't suit your nails and found a suitable alternative.

Yes. It doesn’t look as nice because the ones you wanted are slimmer and longer / pointier nails. She did what you wanted but it looks different on you. I think they look great on you, just not the same as the picture.

They look awful and don't look much better on the model either to be honest. Ask for them to be removed.
