Fat girl summer - let's slay 💅

So, for those of us who are chunky yet funky, what's the plan ladies?

Shall we give no fucks and wear nice comfy summery clothes or do we worry about keeping every inch of us covered head to toe in black until we sweat so hard we melt? What's the plan?

Currently a size 20/22 myself, unlikely to get down to a magical size 14 by July so I'm looking at the nice comfy looking linen pants, few maxi dresses, shorts because I'm a wee chubby pale rebel and to really go wild a jumpsuit or two.

Simply be has some lovely things at the moment including shoes, asos curve is looking alright and vinted is my best pal.

I'm 35 for a few more months and don't want to have another summer in my 30s hating my body, so this year I'm going to embrace it. Anyone with me?

It is bloody annoying! My stomach is pretty flat (well as much as it can be after 3 c sections) so when I swell it really does fuck up my plans😂. We can be swollen and feel awful together it's all good!

@ChishiyaBat l too have had the most horrid uniform on, a colour that doesn’t suit me and one l would not get away with such beautiful eye wear sadly, l can imagine your eyes made people smile. When l got home instead of putting clothes on l put in my 15 year old pjs that are so comfortable and still in good shape that l wouldn’t give up for the world but maybe l should follow @LakeSnake lead and look for pjs my dh would be pleased.

Sorry some of you are suffering from conditions and had a crap comment @GorgeousLadyofWrestling , at least this thread there is positivity to outweigh the negativity xx

Today's outfit. Dress is sugar hill brighton charity shop buy at a Size 12 which I'm clearly not.!! Leather jacket monsoon second hand from ebay. Scarf a gift. Shoes are from vinted brand new. V sparkly. Just catching up.

I've had a few lovely pieces from This is Unfolded - but some styles/dresses aren't suitable as they don't fit me in the bust. I've this moring discovered they are doing a large bust range with an outfit called "Fabulous" and I've ordered 2 dresses.

Their business model is fair wages, low waste and they support schools in India. To reduce waste they make the clothes to order and if you order now the delivery is set for early July - so you do need to be patient. But good fabrics, great clothing, nice prices - well worth a try:

That's gorgeous, I'd love a kaftan for summer but never seen one I've thought I'd suit but this is lush.

I really have absolutely no business sticking all these beautiful clothes into baskets when it's about to be the summer holidays and I'll be having 6 weeks of spending any spare money on activities to stop my brood commiting acts of chaos upon my person and those lovely members of our lovely community!

I just asked my oldest lad what type of gym things he finds the best for working out and he said he personally likes the feel of something called a dry-fit top, but being the stereotypical 10ft beanpole with hollow legs son of a mumsnetter I'm not sure if that is any use to you!

Just ordered a couple of these dresses to try to keep cool and waft in. Tried one on yesterday but they didn’t have long in my size and I am 5’11’.

Think Fatfabulousandfourty is about 5’11’ or 6ft and about a size 20 but she usually sizes up one size in M&S. So the regular length would work for most people.

Search bardot dress on M&S if the link doesn’t work. Its cotton and some prints are in the sale and others have sold out now probably since this post on instagram at the end of last week. Here's my outfit of the day. Boden PJ bottoms bought from Vinted for £6.00!!! With my usual white top and blue cardigan. I have a small orange necklace- that's been waiting to be worn for two years. And I am wearing a denim jacket that I've not felt confident enough to wear for a couple of years either.

Oh to be tall 😍 it's the short person's dream until you realise it's just as difficult to buy clothes even if they look lovely on, they "hang" nicer on my taller friends but then finding the clothes can be a pain to start with!

Sorry everyone I update 10 times at once but this is so ridiculous I couldn't not tell you.

My lovely neighbour is mature woman, very stylish and well put together and I always love her clothes. Anyway we left the house my eldest and I, plus his pal who has zero fucking filter/social skills and is a cheeky little sod but I adore him. Anyway were leaving to get the lads some snacks and we are all leaving the houses at the same time so we're chatty and I tell my neighbour she's looking fabulous, because she really is, my eldest who's grown up with her and she spoils says to her, "you look pretty pam", which was a surprise because he's not a man of many words and she was made up and then, fucking then ds bestie who she's met loads over the years says, (I'm cringing writing this!) "Yeah pam, you look proper HOT today, you little worldie". This kid is almost 17, the wee pervert. He has form for these things but poor pam, I hope she doesn't think we're grooming her for a weird cult or something. She blushed and told him if he was 50 years older he'd be in trouble, which made his day more.

(This kid I've written about on mn before, last Christmas I didn't do my eldest a Xmas eve box with pjs just snacks etc and this lad called me on the most busy day of the year to tell me "Lauren, even rose west got her kids Christmas pjs, what you playing at girl" 🙈😂🙈😂)
