I'm edging towards the last spritzes of my beloved Elle by YSL perfume. Why they discontinued this glorious fragrance, I will never understand. Off to buy another overpriced bottle on eBay, I guess.

I'm also pissed off with Jo Malone for getting rid of her English Oak and Redcurrant scent. The candle and body lotion were the best.

Who will you never forgive for discontinuing your favourite?

It's was Bourjois that did that mascara. It was amazing wasnt it?

Yes I remember that one!! It was Bourjois.

Frumpitydoo · 15/03/2024 19:50

Mahora perfume. Just divine and... gone.

Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow in Sunlight

Essie nail polish in Overnight (adored this and have never found a better nude)

Urban decay eye primer in Eden (recent thread about this outrage!)

Beauty Pie Super Healthy Body Wash (original formulation)

YSL waterproof mascara in gorgeous deep violet shade

All these were brilliant products and would love to see them return

I had no idea Urban Decay Eden had been discontinued, I was just thinking this morning that it was time to order another tube! This is terrible news.

CortieTat · 15/03/2024 19:56

Theorema by Fendi. I still have some stashed. Bvlgari Black, the old one that smelled like rubber tires. Etro Gomma.

GellerYeller · 15/03/2024 19:57

@Justmemyselfandi999 yes Passion Fruit Cleansing Gel! And Body Shop perfume oil in Mostly Musk. I didn’t want to wear Dewberry or Ananya, I LOVED it.
MAC Viva Glam V Lipglass, a natural warm pink with the tiniest hint of gold. I think it was first advertised on Pamela Anderson. Nothing comes close.
Ultima II brighten up tighten up eye cream. A magic pot of pink goo.

KirstenBlest · 15/03/2024 19:59

I miss Wilko. The Essence range was great.
The Bourjois mascara made eyelashes huge.
I remember the Phineas Fogg range.
I'll miss The Body Shop.

wobblyweasel · 15/03/2024 20:02

Midnight Poison by Dior, I loved the fragrance! But sadly they discontinued it, you can find occasional bottles for sale on eBay etc for astronomical prices. I used to love Eau Givree - a cheap Avon perfume, but was lovely and fresh for daily wear, again discontinued Confused

MorrisZapp · 15/03/2024 20:03

YES to Funky Chunky! Omg!

Who remembers the old, 80s Tresemme Hair Glaze? It smelled of bananas and was so potent you had to dilute it. It was incredible.

Agnes B lipstick from the Club de Createurs de Beaute catalogue.

Lilac shower gel and camomile shampoo from Yves Rocher.

Guerlain did a wash off fake tan for the body, I was given it for my birthday and considered myself a sun kissed millionaire. They bloody scrapped it.

Tiptoptum · 15/03/2024 20:04

Bare minerals eyebrow pencil.
it came in light brown or dark brown and it was very thin.
Worked wonders on my sparse eyebrows.
Now replaced by some enormous thick thing that comes in 7 million different shades, which are all wrong.
It’s like using crayon.

tobee · 15/03/2024 20:05

Used to love Bergasol suncream that smelt beautifully citrus. You can get Bergasol but not the same.

Tom Ford Violet Blonde
Estee Lauder Modern Muse flanker Le Rouge Gloss

And as a pp said Clinique Wrappings. It's always getting mentioned on here as a winter/Christmas scent and I never got to try it!!!!!

ChaToilLeam · 15/03/2024 20:08

Mac Plumful lipstick
All of Lipstick Queen but especially the Medieval lipstick. I managed to get some on eBay but they go for crazy prices
NYX did a good eyebrow pencil but they have changed it and it’s not a patch. Miss their BB cream too.

Frumpitydoo · 15/03/2024 20:08

Ten o Six face cleanser. Ivyhink that was the name!

KirstenBlest · 15/03/2024 20:10

YES to Funky Chunky!
Agnes B anything from the Club de Createurs de Beaute catalogue.

Cheese footballs that had cheese inside, rather than just a husk.
The baked garlic bread snacks. Extremely hard, very garlicky and totally addictive. Can't remember the name. Phineas Fogg?

Yes. The garlic bread snacks. From Waitrose. Bottom shelf near crisps. They were gorgeous.

Also miss the original version of johnsons baby lotion as it was in the 90s before they ruined it. it used to be a pinker thicker lotion with a much nicer smell. miss it so much.

There was also a blue Johnsons baby lotion that smelt gorgeous!!!

tobee · 15/03/2024 20:14

You can get Revlon Flex on Amazon BUT it's £16.90 which seems rather a lot!? Plus I'm not sure if it's the same.

I used to like Revlon Flex in a red bottle iirc which smelt of liquid marzipan and was for swimming and had spf in it, I think that's right

I remember white bottles and tubes of Johnson's baby moisturizer - that smelt lovely too!

Revlon Flex shampoo and conditioner. And the Vidal Sassoon version of Wash and Go.

Both made my baby-fine hair swishy.

Revlon Classic Care Shampoo & Conditioner in Home Bargains today same lemon colour & gorgeous smell of Flex.

Home bargains sometimes have flex shampoo and conditioner in stock. Smells the same as the 1990's version to me. Can't remember how much it was last time, but definitely not anywhere near £16.90 a bottle!

Thank you!

Om perfume from GAP. I would have bathed in that scent back in the late 90s. Never smelt anything like it since. It was a gorgeous gingery, sandalwoody, ambery, frankincense concoction. It was SO SEXY.

Of course they discontinued it and kept the much more insipid Dream and Grass instead.

Also as a PP said, Les Belles de Ricci delice d'epices.

The Body Shop used to do a huge bar of oatmeal and cinnamon soap back in about 1990. The smell of that would transport me back to the first flat I lived in after I left home. Also their Japanese rice grains facial wash/ exfoliator stuff was magic.

Nicky Clarke had a range of shampoos and stuff in metal tins. Again this would have been the early 90s. There was one particular shampoo and conditioner in the range that smelt divine - think it was the glossing one. Used to use it daily - so much fragrance in the product made it such a great to use. Nothing smells of anything any more. Angry

Yes those Body Shop rice grains were excellent and also the Pineapple facewash cream in the white pot.

TheFormidableMrsC · 15/03/2024 20:32

Lots of people are mentioning Essence that used to be in Wilko. You can still buy it. Have a Google, lots of sites stock it.

elm26 · 15/03/2024 20:32

Jean Paul Gaultier unisex one in the square bottle with gold pump, it had a magnetic back. I can't remember what it was called but I loved it so much and can still smell it now when I think of it x
