I'm edging towards the last spritzes of my beloved Elle by YSL perfume. Why they discontinued this glorious fragrance, I will never understand. Off to buy another overpriced bottle on eBay, I guess.

I'm also pissed off with Jo Malone for getting rid of her English Oak and Redcurrant scent. The candle and body lotion were the best.

Who will you never forgive for discontinuing your favourite?

Body shop Passion fruit cleansing gel. Loved it

BurningTheToast · 15/03/2024 19:18

Revlon Flex shampoo and conditioner. And the Vidal Sassoon version of Wash and Go.

Both made my baby-fine hair swishy.

Ketsugo face spray/gel. It regulated the sebum production in my oily skin using an ingredient called isolutrol. Foundation lasted all day, I could go without powdering! Discontinued in the early noughties, never to be bought back again - the company who made it are Australian Body Care, and I wrote to them to ask why it was discontinued, apparently it wasn't selling.

I loved that - really effective used it throughout my teens and twenties. I looked for it for my teens recently and couldn't find it

I’m still mourning the loss of Estée Lauder double wear light, my favourite foundation ever. Still not found the right substitute.
also nice and easy permanent hair dyes were cheap as chips and amazing, but they changed the formula and now they’re shit.
In the 80s Natrel deodorants smelled amazing, I’d love them to come back

Came here to say double wear light!! Literally best foundation ever!!!

BurningTheToast · 15/03/2024 19:22

Linco Beer shampoo. There’s some fake version but it’s not the same.

NYX cream blush in natural. It just made me look like a better me and had the perfect shade, have bought so many blushes similar but nothing comes close

I bought Eden in Superdrug at Christmas.

Unfortunately I liked Eau d'Eden, a flanker of Eden from the 1990s. Discontinued many years ago!

Revlon Flex shampoo and conditioner. And the Vidal Sassoon version of Wash and Go.

my mum always bought Revlon flex shampoo back in the 90s. was only thinking of this the other day. also salon selectives.

BirthdayRainbow · 15/03/2024 19:30

Sanctuary changed their aroma for their body spray. It's awful now. Before it was lovely.

bigyellowTpot · 15/03/2024 19:30

Also miss the original version of johnsons baby lotion as it was in the 90s before they ruined it. it used to be a pinker thicker lotion with a much nicer smell. miss it so much.

Cheese footballs that had cheese inside, rather than just a husk.
The baked garlic bread snacks. Extremely hard, very garlicky and totally addictive. Can't remember the name. Phineas Fogg?

ellebelli · 15/03/2024 19:32

D&G perfume-with the red lid.
Loved it and the only perfume that stayed on my skin etc, I could smell it the next day still on my clothing/bed sheets/hair!
nothing has lasted like this since and the other perfumes they do are not as nice

Circa 2005 there was a fragrance or possibly a body spray in a tiny bottle that was very sugary and made by Ted Baker.

I bought it once at Liverpool ST station after smelling it on a woman and asking her what it was and she pointed at the Boots and said she had just sprayed a tester!

I can't temper the name but it had a huge silllage and it got left in a handbag that I used a couple of times and must have been passed on to family and I forgot all about it until one day I remembered and couldn't see it for sale again.

Imperial Leather Tropical Rainforest shower gel. It's my special summer shower gel for washing off sea and sand! I need to find a replacement 😢

Iloveyoubut · 15/03/2024 19:40

Miss Dior perfume 2012 or 2017. The reformulations are horrible! From many moons ago I miss Harmony, Glints, toners and shaders. Simple wash in/wash out one step hair colours that gave. Your hair a wee shine and tint and were cheap as chips but really lovely. They have all these glosses and toned glazes these days that coat a fortune and here literally just those little sachets rebranded. I miss them, they were fun.

kdramaqueen · 15/03/2024 19:41

Prescriptives.:
Custom blended foundation and powder
Exfoliating scrub with the separate Vit C powder you had to blend in before using.
Oh how I miss the brand! 😢

MenopauseSucks · 15/03/2024 19:42

In the 1980s Missoni brought out an aftershave for Men - Missoni Uomo.

I was on holiday visiting friends in Sicily & wherever you went you'd smell this wonderful scent. Not overpowering but a lot of men were wearing it.

My Dad came out to visit & I bought him a bottle as he loved it.

He said that in terrible weather in the UK, the aftershave would take him back to the village, warm & sunny, clear sky & beautiful sea, good friends, good food, good wine, fresh olives & bougainvillea everywhere.
Just how a scent should affect you.

I've only managed to find it on EBay at vast expense. The modern Missoni aftershaves aren't a patch on it.

Bare minerals night time makeup (cant remember the exact name)— it was like a tinted powder you could sleep in which helped your skin. I wish they still made it….

Clarins hydraquench tinted moisturiser!
Nearly at the end of my last tube and haven't found anything close to it. Gives a lovely fresh glow, doesn't go greasy or pill up on my skin, and isn't orange. Haven't found any other lightweight tinted moisturiser I like 🥲

Yes! This was the best tinted moisturiser ever and I’m gutted they discontinued it!

MorrisZapp · 15/03/2024 19:44
