I'm edging towards the last spritzes of my beloved Elle by YSL perfume. Why they discontinued this glorious fragrance, I will never understand. Off to buy another overpriced bottle on eBay, I guess.

I'm also pissed off with Jo Malone for getting rid of her English Oak and Redcurrant scent. The candle and body lotion were the best.

Who will you never forgive for discontinuing your favourite?

Vidal Sassoon almondy shampoo and conditioner from the Eighties 😭

I agree. I want to cry about this.

DrJoanAllenby · 15/03/2024 17:20

Dior Crème de Rose lip balm.

It went out of stock a few times and I had a hunch it was going to be discontinued so I stocked up so had some for car, home and various handbags and now gone forever.

Revlon lip butter Pink Truffle. Cheap and cheerful but THE perfect MLBB lipstick.

Revlon dry skin lotion in a large bottle.

Almay loose face powder in a pretty pink pot that I last saw mid 80s.

Actually ALL of the make up available in the 1980s especially Revlon lipsticks Gold blushed pink and China glaze red. Lipsticks were far far superior in quality than todays offerings.

The original Aramis Devin. Most beautiful fragrance for men. Todays version is nowhere near as lovely. Last bought early 1990s.

Chanel Vitalumiere foundation, Dior Light Skin Lights foundation, Lancome aroma calm.

I went from Lingerie de Peau to Vitalumiere which is now gone as well

Sephora Collection bath and body products used to have a peony scented version and it was beautiful. It was discontinued about 6 years ago and I’ve never forgiven them. Well meaning relatives keep buying me the Cherry Blossom products from the same range but it’s not a patch on the peony.

ChrisPriss · 15/03/2024 17:22

Boots own brand Fragrance Free facewash - gentle on the face but took off everything including mascara. The cucumber one is a poor second.
Also Cussons Imperial Leather antiperspirant- cheap and effective.

DrJoanAllenby · 15/03/2024 17:22

Oh and before it became Lush there was the catalogue of Cosmetics to go. Beautiful violet bubble bath, highly pigmented eyeshadow. Jus ll lovely.

And in the mid 90s I think there were lipsticks by Molton Brown which were lovely.

Dolce & Gabbana Sicily perfume. They reintroduced it a few years ago but at £150+ per bottle rather than the mid range price it used to be.

This is one of mine. Along with Dior addict 750 lip colour, rock n roll, the most perfect colour ever created.

I only just bought a bottle two days ago. I noticed it wasn't in v many stores but our local Boots had it. Gutted to hear that it's gone.

Please, please tell me where your local Boots is. PM me, if you want to protect it! And go back for more!

Ketsugo face spray/gel. It regulated the sebum production in my oily skin using an ingredient called isolutrol. Foundation lasted all day, I could go without powdering! Discontinued in the early noughties, never to be bought back again - the company who made it are Australian Body Care, and I wrote to them to ask why it was discontinued, apparently it wasn't selling.

I must apologise😩
I was given a bottle of Love but it didn't suit me, so I used to spritz my bathroom sink then run the hot water so the whole room smelt wonderful.

If I knew then what I know now I would have gladly sent you the full bottle. But I guess you don't need to know that.......

My heart is breaking! Noooooo! 😂

TheYearOfSmallThings · 15/03/2024 17:23

Prescriptives foundations
Bobbi Brown "Rosy" lipstick
Dior loose powder in Opaline
Diorskin powder foundation (the old one)
Paco Rabanne XS pour elle
Cacharel Eau d'Eden
L'Oréal dandruff shampoo that actually worked

Darklane · 15/03/2024 17:24

Ecusson perfume by Jean D’Albret, was glorious.
Estee Lauder Lucidity foundation & Pink Champagne lipstick
Boots whole line of their Mediterranean skincare especially the cleanser in the big tub
The two similar lip crayons by No7 & Bourjois, one was Beach Peach, can’t remember the exact name of the other & No7 Coral Rose lipstick
Revlon Lovers Coral lipstick, why does everyone discontinue the best coral & peach lipsticks, we don’t all suit reds & cool shades

Burton's (previously Walter's) Potato Puffs.
The best crispy snack in the world, ever.

Sorry realised this is in style and beauty 😂

Edited

Yep! Absolutely gutted .

Oh, and the puffs had both style and beauty!

Mathsstatsmaths · 15/03/2024 17:29

Givenchy III perfume. From the late 80s early 90s. I so wish I knew at the time it was going to be discontinued as I’d have stocked up. I still have an empty bottle that I occasionally have a sniff at for old times sake. I like a few other Givenchy perfumes but none match that one.

Janeb1965 · 15/03/2024 17:30

Clinque 100% Red lipstick. Adored it. Was always being asked by strangers what it was when I wore it. Never found anything that even comes close, and I've worn red lipstick of 1 sort or another every day for 40 years.

ZanzibarIsland · 15/03/2024 17:30

Comfort Naturals aloe Vera fabric conditioner. It smelled so nice and could be used when washing beautiful, stylish clothes.

Catsinaflat · 15/03/2024 17:39

Benefit LemonAid eye primer. I used it without eyeshadow. Made my blue eyes look bluer and my eyelids looked so perfect!

BeretRaspberry · 15/03/2024 17:39

I used to love YSL Parisienne.. not everyone’s cup of tea but pretty much the only perfume that didn’t give me a headache.

EsmeShelby · 15/03/2024 17:40

Clinique Wrappings perfume
Bourjois Arabesque lipstick

BeretRaspberry · 15/03/2024 17:45

Natrel antiperspirant deodorant from the 1990s. Wonderful stuff. I’ve never found anything as good since then.

Oh, I loved this! I can still smell it now. My fave was the pink Ylang one.

ThinkingAgainAndAgain · 15/03/2024 17:47

Estée Lauder caffe latte lipstick. I bought four on eBay and paid shipping from the US when I realised it had been discontinued. I’ve used them all up now and I’m gutted.

Rainbow1901 · 15/03/2024 17:55

E-bay has been very good for last gasp purchases when products have been discontinued @PossumintheHouse

Linzi2377 · 15/03/2024 17:58

Oil of olay pink bar soap ..smelt amazing ☹️

Strawberr13s · 15/03/2024 18:01

In shower 7-Day Volume Treatment - John Frieda

Never found anything like it, even in their new volumising range .

Walkingwashingmachine · 15/03/2024 18:03

Estee Lauder Spotlight skinperfector. The trailblazer of highlighters and still never bettered. I have a drop left from a 20 year old tube and need to decide the perfect occasion to use it. I've written begging letters to Estee Lauder asking them to bring it back. They should give people proper warning!

VO5 split ends shampoo (just for the smell)...those were the days when we didn't have to smell like fruit or flowers.
