I'm edging towards the last spritzes of my beloved Elle by YSL perfume. Why they discontinued this glorious fragrance, I will never understand. Off to buy another overpriced bottle on eBay, I guess.

I'm also pissed off with Jo Malone for getting rid of her English Oak and Redcurrant scent. The candle and body lotion were the best.

Who will you never forgive for discontinuing your favourite?

Essence make up. It still exists, but there doesn't seem to be an official UK stockist since Wilko closed .

Rimmed and Collection changed the foundation and concealer I used.

Burton's (previously Walter's) Potato Puffs.
The best crispy snack in the world, ever.

Sorry realised this is in style and beauty 😂

Edited

Yes to Potao puffs! 😂😂😂

If I won millions on the lottery I would summon the world’s greatest perfumers to try to reproduce Avon Elusive from the 1970/80s.

Lotsofthings · 17/03/2024 08:59

Body Shop Vit E lip balm, still have other vit E products but not the lip balm, must have had on repeat buy for 25 years.
Also Laura Mercier Baby Lips, must have been through about 10 lipsticks.

Coincidentally · 17/03/2024 09:00

More recently -what happened to this? Only colour that looked good on me -massively better than salon colour

Beef and Mustard Brannigans crisps. I even emailed KP to ask them to bring them back as everyone I mention them to agrees that they were amazing. They said there wasn’t enough demand for them. LIES I tell you LIES

Omg I miss Brannigans crisps, so thick! Also, Worcester sauce flavour twiglets 💔

Boots No. 7 used to do a lip primer base in a white push up stick that was very similar to Mac's Prep + Prime. Not only was it much cheaper, but in my view it worked much better and I bought it umpteen times. Then they discontinued it.

So I wrote to Boots customer service moaning to ask if they would ever bring it back. I got a snotty reply from some bloke saying women preferred wearing lip gloss and there was no need for it any more.... ( thanks mister)

@Ilovecurrywednesdays ...are you sure ? I found lots at a far lower price, this is just a couple of examples (EDP).

Benefit: Rockateur blusher, Lemon Aid, Playstix, Flamingo Fancy. They are the absolute worst for discontinuing things I like.

Ultima II: Brighten Up, Tighten Up. This may be available overseas still but not in UK anymore.

Garnier Synergy C face wash, smelled of oranges and was lovely.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, the reformulated one is pants.

Bobbi Brown: cream eyeshadows in the pots - the sticks are crap, nowhere near the same colour payoff or staying power and the selection of colours is poor compared to the choices they had in the pots. Also miss their coloured gel eyeliner in a pot, only do black and brown now, the purple was gorgeous.

Revlon Skinlights - not the reformulated ones they launched a couple of years ago but this was like a glowy tinted moisturiser that had great coverage.

A shampoo & conditioner called Pro-Tec-Sun, was only available in B&M but Superdrug had it for a while. Best thing I’ve ever used for sun/chlorine frazzled hair. No trace of it now, like it never existed.

Body Shop hemp hand cream.
second hand tubes are selling at a premium on eBay
The new vegan ( no beeswax) hemp hand cream is not nearly as good.

WHY, Body Shop?
WHY ruin your best selling product?

Why not make two versions?

No other cream works as well on my hands
I tried Burts Bees hemp cream- but not nearly as good.

Lancome Esprit de Soleil

Garnier Tonic Body Scrub

Boots vanilla shower gel

Bodyshop vanilla shower gel

Dior rose lip balm

@Mairzydotes
Essence is stocked in Penneys in Ireland which is Primark elsewhere.
Primark originated as Penneys.
Perhaps Primark will bring it into their UK stores ?
Penneys also stock Catrice which is a sister brand to Essence and is equally as good.
Email Primark head office and enquire why if it's in Irish stores why is it not available in the UK stores.

NoddyTheNodule · 17/03/2024 17:12

Lots of stuff that's already been mentioned (Playstix, Double Wear Light etc) but I was actually heartbroken when Origins disconitheir Gloomaway range, and similarly so when Smashbox stopped trading in the UK.

For snacks I would say Texan Bars and Ranchero crisps

I agree, loved Texan bars.

BirthdayRainbow · 17/03/2024 18:28

If I can sneak in a food one...as well as the aforementioned pacer mints, the M & S garlic and herb crisps. They came in a sky blue packet and they were my treat when I'd finished work.

WhereAreWeNow · 17/03/2024 19:32

Estée Lauder Double Wear Light. Why on earth would you discontinue a holy grail product like that?!

Oh and Pacers were amazing. I miss them.

suburburban · 17/03/2024 19:42

Pacers 😕

Deathraystare · 17/03/2024 19:42

@GretaGip ·

Vidal Sassoon almondy shampoo and conditioner from the Eighties

Yes, absolutely!

If I won millions on the lottery I would summon the world’s greatest perfumers to try to reproduce Avon Elusive from the 1970/80s.

Mine were Moonwind, Unforgettable and Occur!

PossumintheHouse · 17/03/2024 19:45

I am loving the mixture of make-up and the odd random snack lamentation on this thread.

On the snack front, I often think about the original Findus Crispy Pancakes. Why!?

I was going to say Phileas Fogg snacks before I noticed this was in S&B, but I'll say it anyway because they were so good!

S&B wise, I miss the black cherry lipsticks of the 90s although 30 years on I expect they'd make me look like Dracula's missus.

Deathraystare · 17/03/2024 19:50

@BurningTheToast

If you don't mind shopping from Amazon they still do it. (Revlon Flex I mean)

Walkingwashingmachine · 17/03/2024 20:02

Pacers were lovely. And spangles and toffos even the strawberry ones (if desperate).

Lancome did a great solid foundation in a rectangular compact. Cant recall the name. Lasted for ages and was so easy..quick whizz with the sponge and job done.

Polo sport unisex. It was in a clear bottle...I can only find a man version now.

Body Shop rose bath pearls. I used to get them in my stocking. That's the Christmas morning bath of my youth.

Yes!!!! Those twiglets were A-mazing!!! I'd forgotten about them. I'm a bit sad now I've remembered them and they are dead.
