No email correcting the info re the kit contents arrived here.

Mind you, I’ve still not had an email informing me of the price increase and I’ve been a member since the very first box when we got the lovely Hera wash bag.

Bimblesalong · 30/03/2024 07:49

Please talk to me about emu oil. I had no idea that such a product, non cruelty-free, was in the kit I had been sent (the Mother’s Day one).
it’s the Margaret Dabbs foot lotion. Having looked at the ingredients before using it and googled, it appears it’s made from the fat on the back of an emu, not some exotic plant. Before I bin it and boak, can you kindly confirm, oh wise ones. 🤢

Crazycatstory · 30/03/2024 08:42

@Bimblesalong the Margaret Dabbs emu foot cream is amazing. I was the same as you when I got some (it was in a beauty box from somewhere), but gave it a go and found it fantastic. I’d definitely recommend trying it. I’m guessing it’s a by product of emus farmed for their meat.

NCForQuestions · 30/03/2024 11:18

That's the one we had in January this year

ETA - well, the picture is of the January one, I don't recognise the products underneath.

Sneak preview for next month, me thinks 🤔

The emus are farmed for their meat & the oil is taken from the dead animal as a by product.
Just like leather is.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 30/03/2024 11:43

Although the photo is of the January Box the contents are for the April Box.

A bit on the fence about this one but then I always say that & end up loving at least one product 😂
Though it doesn't seem worth the extra £5 we will be paying from May onwards.
And omg not more Elasticizer!

I did think of the untouched elasticizer in my drawer. Still body wash is helpful.

I've paid the extra fiver already.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 30/03/2024 12:03

@Cyclingmummy1 when did you join the Beauty Drop?

I joined in November last year & my email said that my subscription would stay at £20 until May, then increase to £25 afterwards.

LittleBearPad · 30/03/2024 12:27

I’ve also already paid. Joined ages ago.

Cyclingmummy1 · 30/03/2024 12:31

@TracyBeakerSoYeah summer 22ish so I've had my money's worth 💰

I joined in November as well. I paid £25 today.

They did say the email that claimed it would be £20 until May was a mistake. Very poor show.

yep, emu oil from actual emus. I can see how these things are getting confusing. I use an oil called ‘Viper’s Gloss’ which sounds awful but its apparently a type of fritillaria and has nothing to do with snakes…

I don’t think Liberty have ever claimed the BD or kit products were all cruelty free, vegan, whatever. Being just ‘luxury’ brands, I would think the majority of them are not, one way or another.

paristotokyo · 30/03/2024 13:23

Hmm not sure about Aprils box. However I didn't think I'd use the hair pomade from the previous box but I really love it. So that's a nice discovery for me.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 30/03/2024 13:35

@OooScotland I only paid the usual £20 when my payment went out last week.
I would have thought that you'd still be paying £20 like me.

It's a complete mess as you've got some members who joined well over a year ago still paying £20 yet others are paying £25 & some of us who joined within the last 5 months either paying £20 or £25 🤷‍♀️

OooScotland · 30/03/2024 13:48

Yeah, thats about the size of it. I’m not going to argue with them over £5 though.

Thinking of cancelling anyway after the April box as I’ve got £250 to spend at liberty in credit and birthday vouchers from DH and as I can’t go into the store I’m having a hard time finding something to spend it on.

Greywhippet · 30/03/2024 14:16

If that’s the April box then I’m happy as have been wanting to try Liberty Maze

Bimblesalong · 30/03/2024 14:27

Thanks all for the comments on the emu oil. I can’t face the equivalent of lard / chicken fat on my feet overnight so I’ll have to pass. The rest of the bag was so lovely.

”my bad” as they say - I’ll read ingredients lists with more care (there are a few products I already avoid).

Cyclingmummy1 · 30/03/2024 15:16

My kit arrived yesterday.

Pleased with the serum, body wash and Dizziak. The lip balm is huge! I've just finished a pot so will open it soon. The shampoo and conditioner are decent sizes, they'll easily last a holiday.

The bag is wipe down rather than fabric. The pattern is ok, not as nice as some of the others, but it's a good size.

Overall, worth the kit price but not the RRP.

SPOILER

Is this the next box, or an early one that I missed?

https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/features/beauty/liberty-beauty-drop-subscription-box.html

Good spot. Whilst I would have been happy enough to receive this one it’s not enough for me to be running back just yet.

BCSurvivor · 30/03/2024 16:41

If that's the new April box, I'm really pleased with that.
I've been on the fence with the last two boxes, but I really like this one.

HostessTrolley · 30/03/2024 17:28

I emailed to complain that I had bought the kit based on the information in the email and I felt misled that there's such a huge difference in the sizes of some of the products. They sent me a voucher for the value of the kit and told me to keep it with their apologies...

Same. It’s a decent box but certainly in the same vein as all the others. I’m definitely going to cancel after this one.

Funny how the price increase and shambolic comms have soured things for me!
