@periodiclabel are you signed in? It’s only for members for 24 hours.

periodiclabel · 22/04/2024 15:41

@Bimblesalong - is it only for BD members then? I am signed in but no longer BD member. Yet again Liberty don't want to take my money.

drawnfrommemory · 22/04/2024 16:00

I think the GWP is only for BD members for the first 24 hours - I think I saw that on the tandcs.

Sorry @Bimblesalong I’m repeating you there!

I think you’ll be able to get from tomorrow.

Ap24 · 22/04/2024 18:42

I've gone for this GWP. I don't think it's great and if they have another like last years soon then I will definitely be kicking myself. But nothing is guaranteed and honestly I just wanted out at this point. The advent calendar wasn't great, loads of the items I have wanted are out of stock or cheaper elsewhere, and the constant mistakes with emails and passwords issues don't fill me with confidence. I will be putting the money into a separate account and making sure I treat myself with it. Fingers crossed that it picks up for everyone who has stayed in!

brogueish · 22/04/2024 21:36

I cancelled on the day I received last week's box. My payment was due to go out the following day, but I contacted my bank and told them I didn't authorise any further payments. The payment didn't go out but I don't know if Liberty tried to take it. I've since had an email from Liberty confirming the cancellation. I actually never paid the increased price either, no idea why not! I've discovered some lovely products and brands through BD, but it all just felt a bit too chaotic and complicated than I could be bothered with.

ferretface · 23/04/2024 10:51

Think I'm going to get this GWP.

Liberty Maze is beautiful but so overpriced!

BakeOffRewatch · 23/04/2024 11:32

I’m interested in trying Liberty Fragrance Zephirine (figs, clove, rose and suede), and also Adelphi Sun (grapefruit, cardamom, jasmine), I don’t think they’ve done samples of those yet.

I was adding to my bag this morning and the “Go With The Flow” gift set is now out of stock, before I finished my basket.

ferretface · 23/04/2024 16:13

I used my BD credit plus a loyalty voucher to order New Notes Caramelo Vanilla and an 8ml travel size of Liberty Maze. The GWP doesn't set my world alight but it's not bad and I'll use everything in it.

LoveLabradors · 24/04/2024 18:49

My order has arrived. I love the go with the flow wash bag and hot water bottle, beautiful print and a nice change from florals. The GWP is the worst I’ve ever had - a far cry from the glory days of 10ml byredo or Frederic Malle perfumes and diptyque candles in lovely GWP packed with full sizes. But it’s better than nothing and I will use most things bar the awful grapefruit cleanser but husband will use that up. Anyone else simply not get Malin and Goetz as a brand?
However given that order of over £200 of goods, including the diptyque perfume I’ve wanted for so long, was simply left on my doorstop with the side of the box bashed in and the internal packaging beyond basic and miserable, I’m now glad I’ve left the beauty drop. For that much money I would expect far better. Liberty really need to up their online game. I don’t want to have money saved with them anymore when I can have better service and often cheaper products elsewhere. It’s a shame as it has wonderful heritage and even a couple of years ago was a great shopping experience. My account is locked again too which is ridiculous, so glad I’ve spent all my credit and vouchers!

LoveLabradors · 24/04/2024 18:50

Liberty need to ditch Amazon and yodel and go back to DPD. It just negates the current Liberty experience even further.

AprilLady · 25/04/2024 08:35

@LoveLabradors agree with you completely that the GWPs are nothing like the ones of 4 or 5 years ago. My first ever GWP was a Liberty September one, which included a 10ml FM perfume. I remember the pure delight and amazement when I opened it. The current one is a pale imitation of that.

They are also really letting themselves done on packaging and delivery. I’ve just ordered some make up from Selfridges (Liberty stock the brand but of course didn’t have the item in stock online). For just £10 per year, you get free next day/nominated day DPD delivery from Selfridges. The parcel has duly arrived, in its two hour slot, beautifully packaged. Liberty really should be able to match that!

drawnfrommemory · 25/04/2024 08:53

@LoveLabradors I got my GWP yesterday and, even though I knew exactly what was in it, I was still a bit disappointed. As you say, there was not a single product in it to get excited about and there was no sense of wonder going through the products.

I haven't tried the M+G cleanser yet, but I hated the shampoo/ conditioner we got. I really love their Vit E moisturiser though and actually bought that full size as it is a really good basic moisturiser for me. I think the only other things I've tried are their deoderants which are nice enough, but not strong enough in summer/ for exercise for me (I need Mitchum!).

AMillionMugsNoTeabags · 25/04/2024 13:36

I got the GWP and the corner of the cardboard packaging of the perfume (I think) has pierced both mask packets so there is serum everywhere all over the inside of the wash bag.

packaging quality is much worse that the beauty drop; which is a bit wierd.

listsandbudgets · 25/04/2024 14:11

which masks were they. Loads of people got a mask with the beauty drop that had a small hole in the packet so leaked.

AMillionMugsNoTeabags · 25/04/2024 14:39

Yeah - same mask as the BD. They’re sending me replacement masks. Can I machine wash the washbag does anyone know?

venus7 · 25/04/2024 15:53

listsandbudgets · 25/03/2024 10:09

i'm really hoping for better things in April although the website claims the "service charge' is to cover postage and packing of boxes, member discounts and free postage on orders. this doesn't leave me with much hope but I am waiting to see what April brings. I did like the AC so any outstanding credit and vouchers will go on that

have they stopped stocking Seated Queen by the way couldn't find it on their website. I was putting things in basket in advance of my buying ban ending.. or rather i wasn't since most products i wanted weren't in stock

The Seated Queen has gone into administration, sadly. I'm miffed because I really liked their things, especially the cold cream, and I had about £20-30 credit with them. Gone!

Yes I washed an earlier wash bag after a holiday. It washed well.

User8ikr · 05/04/2024 15:47

They did take it! I’ll wait and see what the box is like…it’s a tough sell to go from free to £15 a box.

How is it £15? £25 payment, £20 credit...... £5 per box cost.

Growlybear83 · 25/04/2024 16:15

The beauty drop boxes come quarterly, so it's now a total of £15 per box. I really don't think the recent one was worth it, but like others have said, I'll wait until the July box to see if it's any better before I cancel.

Oh, I'm being dim; of course, 3x £5 per month. Very little sleep last night, that's my excuse.

User8ikr · 25/04/2024 17:00

I can relate @venus7 ill give it til after July box too, I love Liberty and a lot of the gwp and boxes are looking less generous than yore, the heyday was probably what, 2018-2020/1?

H3lloMums · 25/04/2024 17:05

I'd also expect a new washbag too at least! I'm still hanging on in there waiting for an amazing GWP or a better beauty drop in July but feeling increasingly like waiting may be a mistake...

Around that time, yes. I'm glad it's not just me, from reading this thread. I thought I was being too critical. Last Liberty order, last week, one parcel delivered by amazon, left on doorstep, ignoring my delivery instructions, really badly packed, despite being china. CS just said they would look into it. Other parcel delivered by DPD, no issue with delivery, but the condition.......A silver pendant, grubby and with surface scratches, and missing accessories. Clearly a return which was sent out unchecked. I contacted the designer, who confirmed it was used and offered to have it repolished. Liberty offered 10% refund.....the whole thing felt tawdry and unpleasant, not joyous, as buying jewellery should. It was to lift my spirits whilst waiting for medical test results too. I returned the whole order. Waiting for refund.......,,then will shop elsewhere.

User8ikr · 25/04/2024 17:36

Hmm that’s not good at all!
