I love that. I would definitely wear it.

donteatthedaisies0 · 29/02/2024 19:39

I've thought about it , don't know if I will get one . Slightly encouraged by the fact they 100% cotton . Cool in summer and warm in winter ? We'll see .

wildthingsinthenight · 29/02/2024 19:40

I've got one for when it's really hot to waft about in like a Victorian ghost.
It's nice and cool. I love it.

TammytheFaceGhost · 29/02/2024 19:42

I am sometimes tempted (LOVE the idea of wafting around) but then I remember I'm a wriggly sleeper and sometimes even PJs get tangled on me, God knows what I'd be like with all that extra fabric!

SisterAgatha · 29/02/2024 19:45

I did to give birth in for practical reasons. I would wear them but they ride up and I wake up with them under my armpits. Used to wear these all the time as a kid

2Old2Tango · 29/02/2024 19:47

Yes me! I've never been a pyjama person. I used to wear shorter night shorts or oversized t-shirts, but wear proper long nighties now. I have cool cotton sleeveless ones for summer and warmer ones for winter.

Kendodd · 29/02/2024 19:55

I've got a few. I love them. I've even got full length flowery brushed cotton.

takemeawayagain · 29/02/2024 19:58

I love a nightdress and that one is lovely. Not sure about sleeves on them though.

TheLeadbetterLife · 29/02/2024 20:10

I generally sleep naked, but if it’s very cold I’ll wear a big flannel nightshirt. Can’t bear sleeping in pyjamas, too much fabric and they get twisted.

I have an Italian gold silk pyjama set and matching peignoir, but that is strictly for lounging in while alone, pretending to be Greta Garbo.

Pebbles16 · 29/02/2024 20:13

I love a nightie - I have some beautiful cotton and cotton/silk ones for summer. In the winter, I tend to wear a bit of a nightshirt (menopause is unpredictable).
Cannot stand PJs

barelyfunctional · 29/02/2024 20:13

I’d love recommendations for more affordable ones if anyone has any! I have one that’s made by Powell Craft who do a lovely range of them around £50 each that was a present but I can’t justify spending more than £30 on myself really

Mairzydotes · 29/02/2024 20:13

That's like something I would have worn in the 90s with army boots and a big black coat.

Houseplanter · 29/02/2024 20:14

I bought a couple from Amazon.. long sleeved and to the floor

Bliss

Dearg · 29/02/2024 20:18

White Nightie co. I have a couple of sleeveless ones which have washed welL. Bought them for menopausal flushes and got hooked.

BigFatLiar · 29/02/2024 20:19

I wear nighties. If we're not going out or expecting visitors I've been known to sit around in my nightie all day.

DianaBarry5 · 29/02/2024 20:19

I have a very similar one from Next which is a few years old but sure I saw them online recently

DianaBarry5 · 29/02/2024 20:21

This one

Does anyone wear proper old school nightdresses?
greengreengrass25 · 29/02/2024 20:21

I got a really nice nightdress in John Lewis sale.

Not high necked, cotton, quite long

I find I always end up with a cold back with pjs as tops ride up

sendismylife · 29/02/2024 20:23

I always used to wish for these in Past Times!

Crooklodge · 29/02/2024 20:23

I used to love going to my grannies and sleeping over, just so I could get a nightie and the world's ugliest but comfiest housecoat(I wore it til it was threadbare) I see the elderly woman next doors and feel pretty jealous but I'm the world's coldest person. I need a cosy version.

WildCherryBlossom · 29/02/2024 20:31

Oooh so many lovely nighties 😍 I had quite a few voluminous ones during pregnancies. At the moment only a couple of little baby doll ones for summer. I would love one of the long ones - as pp said for wafting about like a Victorian ghost. Lovely.

WildCherryBlossom · 29/02/2024 20:32

That one from next I would wear as a dress

Mairzydotes · 29/02/2024 20:53

sendismylife · 29/02/2024 20:23

Yes! That's where I saw them back as a teenager

TheFairyCaravan · 29/02/2024 20:58

I’ve got those Next ones. I prefer wearing a nightie to pyjamas because they don’t get wrapped round my legs
