WTF - Horseshoe Jeans

Delatron · 20/02/2024 18:19

I’m still not over how bad Mom jeans look on most people. I accept skinny jeans are over, I am happy in my straight legged jeans. But all over my instagram feed are these new ‘horseshoe’ jeans. That basically make you look like you have bandy legs? Just why?

I know I don’t have to wear them I am just despairing of all these awful jeans trends.

I do love a flare. I shall stick with that.

Oh wait, they're not what I thought they were... They're worse 🤣

FancyJapflack · 22/02/2024 19:43

Hahahaha theyre
fucking awful 😂😂😂😂

Grumblevision · 22/02/2024 21:36

I like them 😬 they're not that different to wide leg tho. But who am I to talk, I'm short and have curves to spare and wear skirts and leggings and cardies. Probably all your lot's out of fashion ones off o' Vinted.

Grumblevision · 22/02/2024 21:36

It probably helps that I've been seeing this cut on Instagram for years though. Cropped too. So I'm conditioned.

Cuckoochanel80 · 22/02/2024 21:40

God they are really awful, the model is gorgeous and even she can't save them

Angrywife · 22/02/2024 22:45

Barrel and horseshoe look absolutely ridiculous.
They'll be out of fashion before the year is out.
I'll stick to my skinny & slim leg jeans thanks!

kennycat · 22/02/2024 22:51

Cripes and be never heard of or seen horseshoe jeans but they are ‘interesting’ aren’t they?!
Im still bowling along in skinnies. I keep trying on other styles but just feel like im dressing in my dad’s jeans in them all. Too saggy and baggy all over the place! I need a personal shopper perhaps…

Teenagehorrorbag · 22/02/2024 22:55

Delatron · 20/02/2024 20:54

They’re the ones I saw..eek.

I guess there’s different levels of ‘horseshoe’.

Eek indeed! Can't see this trend lasting long......

I'm a high waist straight leg girl myself!

FancyJapflack · 22/02/2024 23:04

I’ve gone unashamedly back to flares and bootcut.

MumTeacherofMany · 22/02/2024 23:07

Are skinny jeans out? ... I definitely didn't know this 😳

MumTeacherofMany · 22/02/2024 23:09

And I've just googled horseshoe jeans as I'm very unfashionable obviously & haven't heard of them... I've also never seen a person wearing them...

MumTeacherofMany · 22/02/2024 23:10

@kennycat agreed!!!! I'm too petite for any other jeans than skinny... I look lost in others lol so skinny jeans all the way for me still

ZebraPensAreLife · 22/02/2024 23:13

littlestrawberryhat · 22/02/2024 08:37

Also, skinny jeans only look ok if you’re tall and thin! I see so many middle aged apple shaped women wearing them I wonder if they know how they look from the back. Just ghastly.

I think they’re quite flattering on apple shapes (not sure what age has to do with anything). Have to be selective with the top, but that’s the same for any trousers.

I tried on seven pairs of jeans before going to the pub on Saturday night because I've never quite worked out what tops/shoes to wear with most styles, and ended up in skinnies, along with I'd say 90% of the women in the pub. If they were ever over no one told the women round here.

@Lightnose IF I could get into skinnies, I might want to wear them😂

Me too, but I really struggle to get any that are not scruffy washed out like they are years old... Use to love Bon Marche Sarah's but since they have been taken over, they are rubbish and never in stock. Any ideas for some that are not massive in price?

OhcantthInkofaname · 23/02/2024 00:16

Jeans makers have to come up with "new" designs because they produce a product that lasts for years. I have 20-25 years old jeans. They need to make sales. These new "horseshoe jeans" are uglier thàn even low rise. Just give me regular rise, boot cut jeans.

Jumpingthruhoops · 23/02/2024 01:55

chattyness · 20/02/2024 20:46

skinny jeans aren't over for me I wear high waist skinny jeans form simply be and they look and feel great

Skinny jeans aren't over in the slightest. You will have to prize them out of my cold, dead hands! 😂

LiteraryGoat · 23/02/2024 02:06

Hahaaa! Skinny jeans are ok, since we don't have to all wear them now, the pressure is off. That will relegate them to the classic grade, along with various other, non spectacular shapes. There are outliers, which come and go, but straight, skinny, flare and boot will trundle on and probably never truly grow old.
Only my humble opinion of course.

My gripe is dresses - cheap, thin, impractical and garish. Why oh bloody why? I was hoping for a new year change to the upholstery patterned nonsense of tiers and balloon sleeves, but alas it's all there is, even if you crawl up the market to Wrap or Bloody Toast. Oversized skirts have also made an entrance, huge slabs of shapeless fabric with cheaply manufactures tie or elastic waists. My teenage nightmare right there.

Mumof3PrettyBoys · 23/02/2024 03:22

They are Hideous!! Not for me, i'll stick to skinny, straight and bootcuts 🥂

RosyappleA · 23/02/2024 05:26

Barrel, horeshoe, balloon etc cannot think of a more unflattering design.
I do have to say mom jeans are the only non-skinny option I have in jeans and look really good on me due to wide hips and small waist. Especially when in flat shoes otherwise I do love a flare or wider leg option.
Have tried on about 30 pairs of straight jeans and absolutely cannot get them to work. Too straight in the hip to waist region and make me look so much shorter.

JubileeJumps · 23/02/2024 05:57

It rained so much today( and I had to be out all day in it) I wore skinny jeans tucked into boots - sometimes they’re quite practical.

bingboo121 · 23/02/2024 07:36

They look ridiculous, i will stick to skinny/straight

Floisme · 23/02/2024 07:43

When skinnies came back around in the early noughties they were written off as an outlier look that only suited the very slim, inflicted on us by a youth obsessed fashion industry. I remember lots of warnings to steer clear and that anyone buying them who wasn't a snake hipped teenager was a pitiful fashion victim.

This is one reason why I no longer pay much attention to what's 'flattering'.

Facing40andfrazzled · 23/02/2024 07:46

I miss high waisted boot cuts …

bradpittsbathwater · 23/02/2024 07:47

I look like a dumpy little troll in wide leg trousers. Skinny all the way. I see lots of young people in skinnies too.
