@Countmeout that embroidered shirt is gorgeous, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Stoic123 · 26/02/2024 19:50

@faustina - that's a shame about the rips. At least we can return the Reworns easily enough (though the 2 rips wern't as descibed so you'd have had a good eBay case). There have been enough good experiences on here to keep trying them. I also picked up a pair of flat fronted denim trousers (ones on sale now) at the same time and they are in perfect condition. I already have a pair of these but, as I wear them every week, a spare pair at £39 seemed worth it.

faustina · 26/02/2024 19:54

Definitely worth it @Stoic123. I was looking at one of my favourite pairs of toast trousers the other day which I'm slowly wearing to death and I would do the same - and yes, so many good reports from the reworn sales, and the perk of being able to return. I do feel slightly guilty about keeping the basket though ..

Stoic123 · 26/02/2024 20:07

@faustina - I wouldn't feel guilty. You've been a loyal customer for years and the gift timing is all a bit random anyway.

OftenOrange · 26/02/2024 20:18

@FitzLea I’ve 2 pairs , first pair 3 or more years old , stood up well in wash but now definitely looking shabby and used for knocking around locally , hence second pair bought 6 months ago and washed a couple of times still looking smart .
I can’t understand the baggy knee dilemma as they are so wide . My old ones are generally seated and a bit sad 😞 , but they’ve taken a lot of use.

I’m starting to fall out of love with the Annies in Winter as I feel they look a bit scruffy with a coat 😓 whereas in Summer I feel they look cool 👍

OftenOrange · 26/02/2024 20:22

@Countmeout That’s so nice and blow it , sold out in my size, A heck of a lot of embroidery for the Toast price ! The colour looks paler online ,sorry not to have info I’m not going into stores until Summer arrives !

@Stoic123 Love it , just what I didn’t know I needed ! Which jumper is it ?

FitzLea · 26/02/2024 20:51

Thanks @OftenOrange. I do tend to sit cross legged on the floor a lot and with my legs up (like hugging them) so there is bound to be some stretch by the knees, but I’ve never had it with non-stretch jeans before. I don’t think I could wear them outside the house anymore :( It seems I now need to find an alternate winter jeans (I really like crop length, so I do wear them all seasons).

Countmeout · 27/02/2024 08:58

@FitzLea would a bit of starch after washing fix the problem with the Annie’s?

That’s poor about the rips @faustina . Agree on keeping the basket.

FitzLea · 27/02/2024 10:34

Gosh @Countmeout what is starching? I’ve never heard of that before but would be happy to try it if it might stiffen the material again.

Stoic123 · 27/02/2024 11:58

2nd Reworn package arrives - a pair of these (linked). Excellent condition (look unworn) and beautifully wrapped. Pretty but the style isn't flattering on me. Might be better in a size down but they give off even more PJ vibes in real life so won't bother.

A size down in the Puck jersey trousers also arrived and much better.

I just bought those full price @Stoic123 in a size small and was wondering about trying an xs. I really like them, but yes, I do find them a bit pj like and don’t know how much wear I will get out of them outside the house.
What size did you get and how much were they reworn?

Stoic123 · 27/02/2024 12:43

@ScottishMouse - I ordered an L as supposed to be 12-14 - but they were definitely more like 14-16.

They were £52 reworn.

ScottishMouse · 27/02/2024 12:45

That’s a good price @Stoic123 . I think these particular trousers come up big compared to some of the recent ones. But I also feel like they need to not be too fitted, so maybe I’ll keep the small. I have some time to decide…

Countmeout · 27/02/2024 12:54

@FitzLea . I have a friend who’s swears by it and it does help when you spray your clothes before packing. They seem to last crease free better.
Thought it might restore some of the finish to your jeans. I’ve never tried it on denim and I’m another who hasn’t yet washed my Annie’s that I can remember. I air them and press them, but I do take them off when I come in as I like to slip into comfortable joggers or similar.

Do you use fabric conditioner @FitzLea ?
I really loathe it for making fabrics floppy.

I wash denim after 3 wears, then tumble dry to get the shape back.
I find they go baggy and need a wash to restore the shape
I've got 2 pairs blue denim Annie's,bone and black -no issues at all.

FitzLea · 27/02/2024 17:22

Thanks for that @Countmeout I’ll investigate that product to see if it’s something that might suit here.

I can’t stand fabric softener @Alpacasoft. I don’t have a tumble dryer unfortunately. Just so I completely understand, you wash it then tumble dry it afterwards to get rid of the baggy knees?

I've never found they go baggy at the knees @FitzLea
Worn to death and they are as good as new

I meant that my jeans in general tend to loosen at the waist and fall down as I'm neat on the waist so I wash them regularly and tumble dry to neaten them up again
Can you post a pic of the baggy knees?
I'm intrigued

FitzLea · 27/02/2024 21:35

Oh right @Alpacasoft I misunderstood your original message. I’ve actually raised this with Toast CS as I can’t understand how this has happened, but they haven’t been able to trace the item on my account. Here is a photo of one leg, as the other one is the same.

I have these. I wore them a lot last year! I think I sized down.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/02/2024 08:09

I've just ordered the new denim pinafore. Have been wearing my cotton linen one a lot!

ScottishMouse · 28/02/2024 08:13

How do you wear them @neveradullmoment99 so that they don’t look too pj-like?

Apologies I should have just said no my Annie's don't have baggy knees and I wash them frequently 😂
Is that the knees?
That looks like the lower leg part
The seam looks twisted, would reshaping and a hot iron sort it?
