Thank you 🙏🏽 @ScottishMouse

Thank you very much @AvaGardens and @ScottishMouse - it looks really pretty! There's only one thing I want to order from Toast right now and as it's a repeat of something I have so many of already, I'm dithering. It's the indigo twill shirt with pockets. Has anyone got it? Might wait til the new drop of things

I looked at that and wondered if it could be worn as a sort of jacket. But will hold off for now too until we see what is in the new drop. The trousers we’ve seen already are a bit floral for me these days.

@Countmeout - yes, I already have two cotton/linen shirts just like it which I wear as a jacket, as well as three or four other Toast jackets just waiting for Spring, so it would be slightly mad to buy another one without at least doing a cull first

faustina · 21/02/2024 15:44

@FitzLea - that's it. It's such a beautiful rich colour and looks so nice with those green trousers (of which I have many pairs)

Stoic123 · 21/02/2024 15:55

@Qweesh - when I put iPad against real life garment, it looks closest to colour in non-model photos (a close match). I am happy with the colour, it meets expectations.

ScottishMouse · 21/02/2024 15:59

@faustina I also have two of the linen cotton versions of that shirt and love them. I saw the indigo in store recently though and discounted it because it feels very thin in comparison. Definitely a shirt not a jacket. I also tried the green cord version a few months ago but could not get the sizing to work, even sizing up. Not trying to put you off, just trying to manage your expectations!

@ScottishMouse - that is very helpful, thank you!

Dee1224 · 21/02/2024 17:51

I like the look of that gift! Thanks for posting @ScottishMouse and @Stoic123. My front room has, somewhat unexpectedly, taken a ‘brown’ turn in the decoration department so it would be nice in there, (if it fits - not much space, and I seem to have put the watering can on permanent display in there too for some reason).

Sadly, my delivery has erroneously taken a left turn northwards out of the gate at Swansea and is currently in Manchester rather than ‘down south’, so has not arrived. I am not amused and will contact Toast CS tomorrow if the tracking doesn’t show movement in a southerly direction!

Thank you @Stoic123, I was hoping they’d be the darker green like the model images. They do look cosy though.

Countmeout · 22/02/2024 08:54

At lease your delivery has left the building @Dee1224 . Mine has been expected at Swansea for two days now.

🙀@Countmeout - not good!

MrsRadichio · 22/02/2024 10:42

That's a sweet little kindred gift.

Just posting to say a lot of 'new' things in the reworn section.

MrsRadichio · 22/02/2024 10:48

Including some homewear - throws etc

Stoic123 · 22/02/2024 11:17

@MrsRadichio - thank you, better selection than normal.

I've just ordered a nice jumper.

FitzLea · 22/02/2024 11:20

Thanks @MrsRadichio I managed a linen dress I’ve been searching for on eBay and Vinted for ages now!

faustina · 22/02/2024 12:14

Thank you @MrsRadichio - have ordered the black coffee linen trousers

Stoic123 · 22/02/2024 12:27

Oops - might have also gone back in and ordered the pair of Gingham Linen Trousers too.

ScottishMouse · 22/02/2024 14:54

Finally got to try on the things in my order from yesterday.
I am trying the olive crinkle skirt again because I love it. but it just doesn’t love me.
I am also re-trying the Lydia jumpsuit. I ordered a M and a L (my dress version is M). The M is just too clingy for my tastes on my stomach but I wonder if the L is a smidge big. I love love love it though, so will see if I could perhaps shorten the shoulder strap a little to make it work.
I also ordered the red gingham linen trousers because I saw Susan Carroll Cooper on Instagram in them last week. I had never considered them before. The S is big, I’m not sure if it is too big though. I suspect the XS would be a little too neat. They are super cute, would need taking up a bit for me, and I’m not sure if I would ever wear them out or if I would feel like I was in my pjs. Does anyone have them and have thoughts?
I also got two vinted Toast items today. One is a total winner - the Breton with the elasticated cuffs from a few years ago. Will get tonnes of wear.
The other is a skirt I was looking for but it is sadly too big. I’ll be putting it on the fb page shortly. It’s the one with the elasticated waist and tiered pleats from a few years ago.

Dee1224 · 22/02/2024 15:17

@ScottishMouse - we had this conversation about the checked linen trousers at the Kindred event. I said that I liked the red check but was quite glad I was in between S and M because I couldn’t have any more clothes for ‘around the house’.

Rachel asked if we would wear them outside and I said I wouldn’t, (I am too ‘chicken’/lacking in panache to pull them off! I would wear them on holiday, should I ever get near a Med beach again 🤞)

I like the green and the red, but imo maybe the green are a bit more outdoorsy?

ScottishMouse · 22/02/2024 15:53

Interesting @Dee1224 . I’m not a fan of the green personally, but the red are lovely. I could definitely see me wearing them on holiday, and I do spend a lot of time wfh/around the house so they would get plenty of wear that way. I just tried them on with a plan white tee and some trainers and also the Fracap sandals I bought in a sale a wee while ago that haven’t had a chance to be worn yet, and they look good with them both, so I might risk it in warmer weather. Will have to think a bit on them.

Dee1224 · 22/02/2024 16:24

They are very nice @ScottishMouse - I would definitely wear them on holiday. I was hoping the red check would be reduced last sale, but sadly not!

I am off to open my newly arrived parcel, which has found its way to my door via the North!
