@ScottishMouse - I could have sworn my original invite said there would be a 20% discount at the Kindred event, but I deleted it beforehand!

As it turned out, they gave 15% discount off everything bought at the event and everyone who attended got one of the black clay tea light holders, (there were some pots of the same material on the website a year or two ago).

I wish I had tried more on at the London event, but I got a bit flustered when everyone else left, (as it took me so long to get in the changing room and then the shop reopened). I suspect it might feel less rushed having the event take place early evening.

I hope you have a good time- let us know how it goes.

Dee1224 · 28/02/2024 20:52

Btw: If the waistcoat people are talking about is the cotton stripy one, Evie recommended wearing it oversized. It looked good over a baggy sleeved shirt.

Alpacasoft · 28/02/2024 20:53

Had a quick look at the new stuff and I think green is the new brown.
Bit odd to do almost every crepe dress in green .
Even odder the Chambray Pintuck Dress is back as " new"
I looked close up and the fabric looks exactly the same.
Was it a sell out so they decided to run it again or they had lots left and decided to run it again?
It's a beautiful dress, mine was £40 on a reselling site!

ScottishMouse · 28/02/2024 21:14

Thanks @Dee1224 I don’t remember seeing mention of a discount on my invite, maybe there was mention of a gift though. 15% off would be nice.
The waistcoat I meant is this one. I really like it worn with nothing underneath but this would not work for me

Dee1224 · 28/02/2024 21:26

That’s nice @ScottishMouse - I think I imagined it was stripy!

MsDastardley · 29/02/2024 08:33

neveradullmoment99 · 28/02/2024 19:02

That is absolutely GORGEOUS but totally out of my price range.

It’s beautiful, but far too expensive for me 😥

faustina · 29/02/2024 09:24

@FitzLea - yes they are! although possibly they look a bit drapier/less structured than I was after. They also have them in cotton linen canvas in map green which I have put on my list. Please let me know how the blue ones are when they arrive. I'm still waiting for my preorder from Le Bon Shoppe so will give them a chance first

ScottishMouse · 29/02/2024 10:28

i really like the look of those trousers too@FitzLea & @faustina.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 29/02/2024 10:49

I've just been trying on lots of my Toast to find a few items to sell to fund some purchases from the new drop, but I love everything too much 😭. Even things I thought I wouldn't wear look good when tried in different combinations.

The navy tank I received this week has also given several pieces a new lease of life. Now I have to decide whether to bite the bullet and buy anyway.

FiddleFigs · 29/02/2024 11:19

Oh I do like the scoop neck linen dress and the gathered chambray shirt from the new drop. I find quite a lot of Toast dresses are a bit too high in the neckline for my liking, so I'm pleased to see the scoop neckline.

Although all this interminable rain and grey makes it difficult for me to get excited about short sleeves and linen.

AvaGardens · 29/02/2024 11:26

@Countmeout lovely little drop today, I'm liking the colours.
I've added the rounded (!) Linen dress in Puck, to my wishlist, which seems a very good teal green colour on my screen, I'm getting a little saturated with slate and liquorice in my wardrobe, so I'm very pleased to see more colours coming through!
I've just ordered the short sleeve gathered chambray blouse, I like the shorter sleeve option this year and small collar.
I also added the seersucker dress, especially excited to see it with a neater fitting waist.

FitzLea · 29/02/2024 11:30

I also like that green @faustina but can’t do more linen(ish) trousers. Will also let you know how I get on with the blue ones, @ScottishMouse. I’m definitely getting the Iku co-ord set, just beautiful.

faustina · 29/02/2024 15:31

Just heard my Le Bon Shoppe arc pants are on the way - exciting! If they don't work for me I will try the green barrel leg Toast canvas (hoping if they're canvas they'll be more structured than my Alixes?)

@ScottishMouse - didn't you go to a Kindred event yesterday? How was it? Did you buy anything (and did you get a discount?)

ScottishMouse · 29/02/2024 15:54

@faustina, it’s on this evening. I am hoping I can get away from work in time. Will report back if I manage to get there.

sonjadog · 29/02/2024 16:18

Where do you sell your old Toast clothes? I have a couple of dresses I would like to sell on. I have tried selling them in the country I live in, but Toast isn't a familiar brand here so I'm not getting any takers. I would really prefer not to sell on ebay as I have no experience with it.

Countmeout · 29/02/2024 16:33

Having slept on it all I am trying to take stock of what I have but soooo much of the new drop is tempting.
Like you @Theteapotsbrokenspout i find it difficult to part with anything.

@FiddleFigs I am so wanting winter to be over.

After finding a small flaw in the material of the embroidered shirt I ordered another and a size up to try. I’m keeping the one in the same size that is without the flaw. The size up was just too big on the shoulders and did not hang any better , also it felt just too big in the sleeves.

I’ve shortlisted a couple of things from the new drop and I think the first item I’m going to try is this

https://www.toa.st/products/stripe-organic-cotton-tunic-dress-dark-olive

will order once I get my refunds. I’m just musing over the measurements.

I hope you manage to get to the event @ScottishMouse .

Oops sorry forgot to say does anyone know what colour that waistcoat actually is? It’s not the usual parchment or chalk. Is it a dirty cream as it’s called wood ash? 😳

Just made it in time for the event. It was lovely to see some styling that I would never have thought to put together (and if I’m honest, would never wear myself!). No discounts or gifts though, so that was a bit disappointing.
I tried on those new green trousers @faustina, but they were quite huge and unflattering on me with the pleats at the front. Also quite long and taking them up would mean the shape would be lost. Lovely colour though.
Who was asking about the new Gabi colours? Sorry, I can’t remember. I took some snaps, which I’m adding here. The colour of the pink ones is pretty accurate, but the green ones I just couldn’t get quite the right photo. I would say they are a little yellower in tone than these photos show.

Dee1224 · 29/02/2024 18:50

Thanks for the pictures @ScottishMouse .

Did they at least offer anything to eat/drink? So mean not to offer a small discount 😿 or at least a gift.

Did anyone go to the Brighton event?

I have added a few things from the new drop to my wish list, including the troentorp sandals. I might order these to try, but if they are the same fitting as last year’s brown ones, they will be too wide for me.

I am currently listening to the Kindred veg growing session. I have had some success in previous years, but got depressed last year when everything I was attempting to grow seeded and died😿

ScottishMouse · 29/02/2024 19:26

Yes @Dee1224 there was food and drinks, although nobody seemed to be eating much!

Countmeout · 29/02/2024 19:26

Thanks for the pictures @ScottishMouse . it was me who was interested in the green Gabis. The pink ones look nice too. Disappointing about the lack of a discount.

Has anyone watched the video from today? It was Gabriella who we’ve seen before and she was excellent. She is so lovely and enthusiastic. Nice to see the clothes on a different body type. Really recommend it. Although advertised as denim it wasn’t just denim and some good ideas for putting things together and all very wearable everyday things.

I kill everything I grow @Dee1224 . Can sympathise.

MiracleToast · 29/02/2024 19:33

Oh @ScottishMouse that’s so sad they didn’t offer a discount or gift! I’m really quite surprised. Also, mighty relieved I didn’t travel the 100 miles to attend—the hail kept we away.

@Dee1224 I will check out the veg session. I hope you have renewed hope and inspiration for this season 🌱

Dee1224 · 29/02/2024 19:48

Thanks @MiracleToast and @Countmeout - I have been inspired- weather permitting- to visit the garden centre this weekend!

@ScottishMouse - people were really tucking into the food at the London event - I was a bit too shy, so just nibbled on a tangerine and took a pain au chocolat at the end of the event for DH who was waiting patiently for me outside with DDog! I had a bit too and it was SO nice!

faustina · 29/02/2024 19:58

@ScottishMouse - glad you managed to get there but how unfair that there wasn't a discount (seeing as how they had one in London)

Thanks for letting me know about the barrel leg trousers. If they were too long for you they won't work for me either - that's a shame. I was also interested in the green Gabis so it's nice to see a pic - thank you - I wish they'd make barrel leg gabis!

@Countmeout - that is a nice dress - I found it quite hard to imagine myself wearing anything from those beautiful sun-soaked shoots though - it's just rain rain rain here

Uniqlo have some nice looking cropped parachute trousers which I've ordered to try on but it's quite a wild card as they're cotton and nylon, though I guess that is authentic parachute fabric isn't it? They seem a nice shape and have little poppers on the legs so you can make them narrower.
