My mum, she was about 80 at the time. She looked bloody awful for a few days but when the bruising went, she looked great

CollagenQueen · 08/02/2024 14:07

Hello! Yes, I had this done last October. I did a thread on here at the time with pics, I will link it for you. It IS worth it. I also had my eyebags removed and a face & neck lift. I am 54 (was 53 at the time).

Re the eyes, they were very watery, with blood mixed in, for a few days, but nothing major. I took the tapes off on day 6. The bruising didn't take long to wear off. I felt like someone had kind of stapled the edges of my eyes, and they still feel tight now, but they look great. Don't worry about any redness or bumpy bits - they go away. I had ZERO pain regards my eyes, but the neck/face lift was very sore for a few days. Honestly, if you're only having your eyes done, it will be a breeze.

Are you having a local or being knocked out? All of mine was done under a local, and that first night I didn't sleep at all, because of the amount of adrenaline in me. Any questions feel free to ask.

Yes upper and lower, absolutely revolutionary for me aged 45. Only little thing is it changed my features ever so slightly but in a way that made me look different. Very subtly and in a way people couldn't pin point, just different. I wasn't that fond of the old me so wasn't bothered. And if you'd never met me you wouldn't have known anything. I looked about 25 afterwards. Sadly covid happened and those years after were then spent indoors! Surgery is a little gruesome but fine. Lower was a tiny bit scary because I couldn't see for about an hour after. Upper was fine, no downtime.

Thank you . I am so scared because I have seen on fb today on an upper blep support group that a woman has got a microbacterial infection and has to be on antibiotics for months .

i so want to do it .

local only .

I doubt there is any surgery in the world, where someone, somewhere hasn't had an adverse reaction or complications. You could say the same for things we do every day - cross the road, fly in a plane, have a baby etc. Don't let this put you off. It's a simple operation, with no pain, and you will love the results.

Where are you having it done? Has your surgeon got an Instagram page, you can look at all his work on?

Imonaplane · 09/02/2024 12:03

I had upper and lower blepharoplasty last August and at first looks like I had been in a car accident. I looked almost normal within 2 weeks as most of the bruising had gone by then. I am so glad that I had the procedure as my confidence had increased massively. I am 60.

I would say as well, consider having lower done at the same time. You should get a discount and if you have eye bags it's well worth it.

Nortono · 09/02/2024 16:22

How much is it nowadays? My husband needs his done.

Just for upper about £1900. Upper and lower is about £3500. That's with Signature Clinic who have clinics all over the UK.

hairypaws · 10/02/2024 09:55

I'm booked in for upper only on 19th. I'm very excited about it. I'm 53 and have wanted it done for years so decided to bite the bullet. I'm not worried at all, just excited. Local too. I'd rather be asleep tbh but the additional cost would be silly.

When are you getting it?

Getonwithitplease · 12/02/2024 11:05

hairypaws oh great !
I am going to Coppergate at york . Let me know how you get on !?

I had upper and lower eye surgery 10 years ago and it still looks good now. I echo the pp who said consider lower while you're getting upper - you might as well once you're there and the results will look fantastic. Good luck.

Here is my before and after.

Anyone had upper eyelid surgery?
Jessforless · 12/02/2024 13:55

As a previous poster said, you’re always going to find positive and negative stories for everything….

but my aunt had this and really regrets it. She said she feels like it’s all too tight and she struggles to wear makeup and feels like she can’t close her eyes properly. I think I’d really benefit from this surgery myself but her experience has really put me off.

Getonwithitplease · 12/02/2024 16:21

CollagenQueen brilliant result !

@CollagenQueen I hope to get a result like yours. As you can see I don't have any lid showing at all. Anything will be an improvement.

I think you’ll be over the moon with the results!!

I am booked in for a consultation in March. I had my lower eyebags done at 42 years old. It looks fab and 8 years on I have no regrets. I didn’t have my upper eyes done because of money and to be honest they were not so bad. Bloody awful now at 50. We have shocking eyebags in my family. Some of my aged relatives could hardly see due to folds etc.

ForGreyLeader · 14/02/2024 14:21

I’m having my lowers done on the 17th so nervous 😬
