I have pondered just the uppers because I have ptosis of one eye lid. Is it just a local anaesthetic?

Nortono · 09/04/2024 09:27

I think so. My son had ptosis surgery when he was a baby boy, and obviously for him it was a general.

Getonwithitplease · 09/04/2024 11:20

Blackcats7 yes it is .

I’ve just had a consultation today. I will be having upper done after Xmas. I can’t wait I should’ve finished chemo by then and I will be off work anyway.

I've posted before. Had mine done 10 years ago with an excellent surgeon - he's actually private mainly at the Spire but I had mine done on the NHS due to how hooded my lids were (hereditary, not age related at that point). Knocked 10 +years off me.

I have to say, his work was incredible and healing very quick and minimal scarring. He said I might need it doing again, but here we are 10 years later and still all looks good to me.

This 'after' was literally an hour after surgery. Felt a little weird sleeping the first night and wore sunglasses for about a week afterwards. I will 100% go back to this particular surgeon. No puffiness. No swelling. No bleeding other than what is on this photo. No issues at all. Worth doing research on the person doing it!

Would you mind sharing where your surgeon is?
