Here is my before and after.

They look so good I hope I have a result like this!

FeralNun · 14/02/2024 20:31

I’m at day 8 after having mine done! Not going to lie, recovery was a bit brutal for me during the first week. I had an unusual amount of bleeding/oozing which worried me, but it’s settling down nicely and I think it’s going to look great.
I did expect to bounce back a lot quicker than I have, but I had been quite poorly in the run up to the surgery.
One thing I would say - you can’t bend over for several weeks afterwards and that is incredibly restricting, so make sure you have some help around whilst you recover!

ForGreyLeader · 14/02/2024 21:21

Did you have lowers too? X

No, just uppers. I don’t have eye bags at all, amazingly, but my hooded upper eyes were really annoying. My upper vision was becoming obscured on the right side and I could see the obstruction ALL THE TIME 😂 Maddening.
I had a fat prolapse as well - disgusting!

ForGreyLeader · 14/02/2024 21:33

My lowers are discusting there all I see when I look in the mirror 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m only 33 look about 63 🤣🤣 I’m booked in on Saturday I can’t wait but so nervous x

FeralNun · 14/02/2024 21:47

It’ll be transformative for you!

hairypaws · 14/02/2024 22:53

Can't wait to see the end results for us all. Roll on Monday for me.

ArcticBells · 15/02/2024 06:45

I had my lowers done about 5 years ago. My bags have gone so a good result from that respect, but I've been left with a tuck/pit in the corner of one eye which I have to hide with eye shadow. I paid about £4,000 for a plastic surgeon in Oxford which I think is a lot. I'd like to have my uppers done and have the pit corrected but would go to someone different

ForGreyLeader · 15/02/2024 09:48

I think I’m going to regret not having my lowers done at the same time. They aren’t to bad I don’t think at the moment so maybe a few years x

ForGreyLeader · 15/02/2024 09:49

Are you having lowers or uppers? Or both x

FeralNun · 16/02/2024 21:10

Hi everyone, had my stitches out tonight. Really pleased with result so far, although there is still some puffiness which is normal.

Good luck for Monday, @hairypaws !

Photos? Have you had any pain and how was I getting stitches out?

Here you go - before and after 10 days. Elated to have eyelids again!

No pain whatsoever, after the initial surgery which was very ouchy immediately afterwards. I had a cool water machine over my eyes which helped.

Stitches out was minimal pricking sensation - very bearable although I have read that it can be painful.

Northernlass99 · 17/02/2024 15:33

Just had mine done (upper). I was so tense for 2 weeks beforehand but it went well. No pain at any stage. First week was hard, I just lay in spare room listening to audiobooks! Stitches out after a week was fine and I went back to work then but I work from home, I wouldn’t have felt comfortable going to an office. Second week I looked like a pensioner who had been mugged. Now nearing end of third week and I still have minor bruising but can cover with makeup. Still some swelling and tightness. You need patience, and I think it will be a little longer before it all settles. You definitely don’t bounce right back when you are older! But I think it looks great and has taken years off me. Although the main reason was due to reduced field of vision.

FeralNun · 19/02/2024 21:27

Hope it went ok today @hairypaws

hairypaws · 20/02/2024 07:10

Went great. Local anaesthetic was fine, just a little nip. I bled a fair bit unfortunately, so expecting lots of bruising. Had a patch on each eye afterwards. They removed one before I left so I could see, I've taken the other one off now. I've had no pain whatsoever.

Woodworker · 20/02/2024 07:18

Glad it went well for you and pain free! You have lovely eyes.

I would love to get this done, sitting here right now with my hoody eyes that feel so heavy I just want to close them and go back to bed. Just don’t have the courage.

FeralNun · 20/02/2024 08:29

Glad it went well! I had bleeding too which the surgeon said could mean lots of bruising - but it was minimal in the end.

@Woodworker I can’t tell you the joy and relief of being able to see properly again. The op has been 100% worth it for me.

brightyellowflower · 20/02/2024 08:39

I've posted before. Had mine done 10 years ago with an excellent surgeon - he's actually private mainly at the Spire but I had mine done on the NHS due to how hooded my lids were (hereditary, not age related at that point). Knocked 10 +years off me.

I have to say, his work was incredible and healing very quick and minimal scarring. He said I might need it doing again, but here we are 10 years later and still all looks good to me.

This 'after' was literally an hour after surgery. Felt a little weird sleeping the first night and wore sunglasses for about a week afterwards. I will 100% go back to this particular surgeon. No puffiness. No swelling. No bleeding other than what is on this photo. No issues at all. Worth doing research on the person doing it!

Woodworker · 20/02/2024 09:00

Thanks @FeralNun To be honest I thought I was making something of something quite normal as I mentioned it to the optician once who kind of dismissed it as such. But I am quite envious seeing all these great results! Maybe one day.

Woodworker · 20/02/2024 09:02

@brightyellowflower that’s interesting - mine also run in the family.

hairypaws · 20/02/2024 10:47

@Woodworker if it's something you really want I'd say go for it. I'm awful with needles and the local was the only bit I was worried about but it honestly was fine. I knew I was bleeding a fair bit as I could feel it on my face but I wasn't worried. There is honestly no pain at all, so weird as I expected some discomfort.

zzzz31 · 02/04/2024 09:04

Sorry to resurrect the thread. @brightyellowflower Any chance you could PM me your surgeon? Your results look fantastic… (I’ve just realised you had it done ten years ago, so he may still not be around…)

Getonwithitplease · 02/04/2024 09:23

Ive had it done - last week ! Stiches out today!
