Best Tinted Moisturiser or Light Foundation??

BaconAndAvocado · 07/02/2024 07:51

I'm 54 and use a NARS foundation which is great but I sometimes feel it's a bit too heavy for every day use - walking the dog, trip to the supermarket etc.

Any recommendations for a lighter look?

Tia.

Estée Lauder Futurist skin tint serum , Im sampling it at the moment and am in love with it - 59 , getting a few wrinkles, rosey red cheeks and forehead

balzamico · 07/02/2024 08:05

Erborian, I use a primer first and it glides on beautifully gives an incredibly light finish with good coverage. It was recommended to me on here

urbanbuddha · 07/02/2024 08:12

Bourjois healthy mix

Have you tried Nars’ Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser? I’m in my early 50’s & I can’t wear any full coverage foundation as it just feels like that - too heavy on my face so the Nars tinted moisturiser is perfect, I really like it. I did try the foundation once, waste of money that was, it was far too heavy for me, end up giving to my dd.

I like No7's tinted moisturiser, worth passing by a counter and asking them to try it on you as a lot cheaper than some and decent results.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 07/02/2024 08:21

I like YSL Nu.

doppelgangermirror · 07/02/2024 08:23

Chantecaille Just Skin. ££££ but worth it.

Nars pure radiant tinted moisturiser - "my skin but better"' Pricey but a tube lasts and lasts.

BaconAndAvocado · 07/02/2024 11:50

Thanks all.
I don't have any Nars stockists nearby, so a little concerned re shade matching!

I bought a lot of Nars make up the last time I was in Covent Garden and had a mini makeover but didn't get any tinted moisturiser,

Another vote for YSL Nu.

Nars is nice, but does have fragrance in the ingredients. Worth knowing if sensitive to fragrance. You can smell it slightly when the product comes out - nothing major and the smell goes on application.
The hourglass skin tint is okay, but very expensive and to me an average product for the cost.

VeronicaBeccabunga · 07/02/2024 15:53

On a similar thread someone recommended a Boots No 7 one that I have really liked, very good price too.
It's the 'Essentially Natural' foundation, as light as many called tinted moisturisers and with SPF 15.

I recently saw a friend I'd not seen for a while and she commented that I looked well and my skin looks good, can't ask better really!

Hillbilly · 07/02/2024 17:13

Dr Haushka tinted day cream mixed with No7 BB cream. Gives enough coverage and a glow. I'm 57.

SuperGreens · 07/02/2024 17:39

Ive just started with Chanel les beiges water fresh and loving it, really soft sheer look with no irritation, buildable if you want more coverage and good staying power. There are 2 versions one is lighter than the other. Im using the complexion touch version which has more coverage than the tint which was very sheer.

I love Origins Ginzing, it adapts to your skint tone and is SPF50. A tube lasts me ages and it makes me look soooo glowy.

If you order online there is often free samples with purchase and I think at the mo they have a SpinThe Wheel type thing for valentines where you get either a full free sized delivery or a discount

samestyle · 07/02/2024 17:47

I like nudestix tinted cover foundation, I took a chance on my shade and it's a good match, its much lighter than foundation so it's more forgiving than a normal foundation match.

HesterRoon · 07/02/2024 17:47

I love the old classic Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser-I like the oil free as well but that feels more like a light foundation. It’s the only one I’ve tried which matches my pale neutral skin (vanilla) and looks completely natural.

Britpopbaby · 07/02/2024 17:50

https://www.chanel.com/us/makeup/p/184566/les-beiges-water-fresh-complexion-touch/ This. I don’t apply it using the brush instead I use my fingers and typically use one small pump.

snowlady4 · 07/02/2024 17:56

I really like garnier bb cream. Excellent quality for the price.

Turkeyhen · 07/02/2024 18:03

Another vote for Origins Ginzing tinted moisturiser, it is a gorgeous product. Quite sheer and not buildable though.

L'Oreal serum foundation is light and buildable (and affordable).

ToThineOwnSelfBe · 07/02/2024 18:08

I just started using Fenty's Skin Tint for exactly the same reason, OP, and I love it. I evens my skin tone, covers light discoloration and blurs my pores, but the skin still looks like skin and not makeup. They recommend using fingers, but I have a very dense small foundation brush that I prefer. My favorite part is that I can't feel I'm wearing it like I could with Clinique foundation I was using previously.

I have the no7 City Light one which is good but is heavier than the Laura Mercier one I bought recently and love.

mirror245 · 07/02/2024 18:16

I've found sculpted by Amy moisturising tint very good.

Ledl54 · 07/02/2024 18:24

Another vote for the nars radiant tinted as mentioned above - so good

Turkeyhen · 07/02/2024 18:27

Those who use Nars radiant tinted moisturiser - I got Groenland and find it's nearly right, but too yellow for me. Which shade is more neutral/less yellow? Flowers
