I ordered to try on and plan to wear with black tights and black ankle boots in February and with bare legs and silver shoes in the warmer months.
Hope I will like it.

Do you like it?
How would you style it?

I like it. Id also wear it with black tights in the winter. In the summer, my sandals. I have no imagination further than that Im afraid. It's a lovely colour

Teethingbabynosleep · 31/01/2024 22:13

It's gorgeous. Something I'd definitely wear.

jasminegamine · 31/01/2024 22:13

BTW

  • read as too awful in the title

Blimey, it’s like something my late DGM bought back in the mid 90’s from a charity shop. She was mid 70’s at the time.

Foodfoodfoodfood · 31/01/2024 22:14

I love it, want to buy it now. I think Oliver Bonas is really upping their game! I would wear with black tights and black boots winter … I don’t know if it would go with sandals? But probably though!

cheeseychops · 31/01/2024 22:14

Nope

Bigearringsbigsmile · 31/01/2024 22:15

I would style it by putting it in the bin.
It is hideous.

jasminegamine · 31/01/2024 22:15

I have some lovely pair of black sandals, I think it could work too depending on fabric / weather / occasion / time of the day

I'm looking forward to see the colour combination in RL

The shoes they have styled it with are terrible. It will look much better with black tights and boots. Needs to be the more dainty variety rather than the Docs/Solvair/ Lanx laced variety.

In summer, if I were to wear it, I'd wear it with ballet pumps picking up any of the colours.

I don't like it or particularly dislike it. It's not my style and I wouldn't wear it.

LaviniasBigBloomers · 31/01/2024 22:16

The neckline isn't for me (I am big of norms) but objectively, it's a nice dress.

FuckingHellAdele · 31/01/2024 22:17

Okay, it looks better on the model.

On the hanger, it looks like it they found it in Patricia Routledge's dressing room.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 31/01/2024 22:19

Thanks for this thread OP - the Oliver Bonas website is about the best I've seen recently! You can scroll through the photos really easily and they show things on different models.

Come on. Say what you really think.

Growlybear83 · 31/01/2024 22:20

I think the dress is nice but i think all dresses look awful with trainers. I woukd wear it with black tights and mid height black shoes - I think higher heels would look nicer but I can't wear really high shoes any more since I slipped a disc.

KreedKafer · 01/02/2024 21:43

Do you like it?

Personally, no. It’s a million miles away from my style. But that doesn’t mean you won’t look great in it. In terms of styling, I think it would look best with a bit of edge added to it - black or fishnet tights and ankle boots with a chunky heel. Or bare legs and platform Converse. I’d also put either a leather boyfriend blazer or a biker jacket or denim jacket with it.

MissSookieStackhouse · 01/02/2024 21:54

Sorry, no I don’t like it, since you asked. It looks like something a not very style-conscious person in their 70s would wear. (Apologies to the many stylish 70-somethings who wouldn’t be seen dead in it!)

DawnBreaks · 01/02/2024 21:58

£78? I would struggle to pay £7.80 for it. But that's just my opinion. If you like it and feel happy wearing it then go ahead and buy it!

Pacifybull · 01/02/2024 22:02

It’s OK. I might be interested if I saw it discounted. But I wouldn’t buy it new/at that price. And it’s made of polyester, and something would have to be very special for me to buy that.

lilybloom2 · 01/02/2024 22:05

I have similar
In winter I wear it with black tights and ankle boots
Grey gazelles in summer and a thin strap black sandal for a more glam look

Bearpawk · 01/02/2024 22:06

It's not something I'd personally wear as it's not to my taste but I don't think it's offensively awful.
I'd probably wear it with a leather jacket

Bearpawk · 01/02/2024 22:07

Jesus Christ actually no, it's 100% polyester. I wouldn't pay that for a polyester dress.

I agree with this. it’s for someone who looks edgy and cool.

Id look matronly in it, as high necks don’t work for large boobs. And I don’t have a cool bone in my body 😥

IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle · 01/02/2024 22:27

It's all largely subjective but to my eyes there's nothing edgy about that dress and I don't think adding chunky heeled ankle boots would make it edgy.

FindingMeno · 01/02/2024 22:29

I neither like it, nor like the way they've styled it.
Sorry.

WhenWereYouUnderMe · 01/02/2024 22:41

It's just generally...un-stylish. Shapeless, cheap material, garish colours and pattern.

Sorry OP, for that money you could have something much lovelier!
