Will I be overdressed in this for NYE??

First time away (city break) with a guy I'm seeing, coinciding with New Years Eve. I bought this dress to wear with black ankle boots and a leather jacket.

Going for an early dinner which doesn't help but is the only availability for where we want to go. Then he's mentioning pubs rather than bars.

Will I be overdressed? It fits like a dream so I'd gutted to change it but don't want to feel self conscious all night either!

Generally think it will be fab styled as you say but knowing the city might give some extra ideas

I don't think there's such thing as dressing up too much with a new partner, an evening out in a new city and NYE.

That's a beautiful dress and I'm sure will be just right for the occasion!

With simple hair and makeup why not. If you like take a pair of black opaque tights in your bag in case you feel self conscious.

I think it will be lovely for your planned NYE, with ‘’with black ankle boots and a leather jacket.’’ (I think it would be too dressy with bare legs, heels and a formal jacket)
Aim for chic rock-chick and go easy on the fake tan. I’m in the camp thinking tights might look better for a pub-night. But go however you feel happiest and you will shine!

I too think location is important, would probably work if you are in some parts of the North of UK, maybe even London but could be a bit over the top in other places.

Ah thank you all ever so much! I have ordered some emergency alternatives that are shorter just in case but I'm leaning towards wearing this one now.

With black ankle boots, would you go opaque or sheer black tights?

The key to wearing anything is confidence! Wear it, own it and feel good. It is perfect for NYE. I have never at any point felt overdressed or underdressed for anything because if I feel good I simply do not care what anyone else has to say.

I think it looks great and best think about NYE is you can get a bit dressed up or dress down and fit in fine. Bet you’ll look amazing!

I'd go for sheer black tights (they seem quite fashionable at the moment).

It’s fab and imo definitely not too much at all. I’d wear opaque tights if the weather is cool, they will also make it look less dressy. But sheer would look great too.

I think toned down with tights, boots and jacket will be fine.

Please don’t go for plutonium tan. It will emphasise the dress is from quiz… I can’t believe they are charging that price in there btw.

My overall impression of quiz is that it’s where primarkites go to buy a dress for a night out, after painting themselves in ten coats of Ronseal for the occasion (so yeah please go for a subtle tan if any!!)….

I'm a big fan of over dressing for the pub! That dress is perfect, love it!
