@Gnomegnomegnome and @WestrayWife I’ve had time to have a good look this morning. So far we have one day/night serum (Seated Queen), one night oil containing retinoids (SR night oil) and one specific night serum (Votary). You can use all three over the course of a week - probably best use would be SQ as the morning serum, votary as the evening serum and the oil more sparingly. Remember all products start to degrade once opened so consider how to use them effectively. I would probably use the SQ/Votary in rotation for a PM routine as I have a vitamin c serum I already use for the AM. The SR Luna oil I would use in replacement of either serum for a PM routine but you could layer this on after the SQ/Votary serum and before moisturiser. You would get better results from the retinoids if applied to clean skin though if your skin can handle it. All 3 will need to have a moisturiser applied afterwards.
The SQ can be used either AM or PM on a clean face and before a moisturiser. If using AM it acts as a skin booster but Remember to put SPF on after your moisturiser if using in the AM and especially if you are going to use the Luna night oil which contains retinoids. If using SQ in the PM as a skin booster, apply a moisturiser afterwards.
The Luna night oil contains retinoids so for skin experienced in any retinoid you should have no issues but always try carefully any new product. Do not use if pregnant. This product should be applied onto a clean skin and once settled, a moisturiser applied on top. If you have sensitive skin it might be sensible to remove and then apply a moisturiser. Make sure you use SPF the next day. I probably would use this a max of 3x pw.
The Votary serum is a real treat. Obviously as the name suggests it is a night treatment. You will need a moisturiser afterwards. I’ll use this on a non retinol night as I think that will get maximum benefit for my skin.
None of these products are a ‘game changer’ by themselves but they all can add great benefits if used correctly in combination with a consistent routine. Any good skincare regime requires a really good double cleanse first (For the PM, AN could be a single) and for me, acid toning (pixie glow pads are my favourite) has been a huge benefit. Double cleansing involves a balm/oil cleanser first to remove makeup/spf then another cleanser, maybe more gentle/foaming. But the most important part is giving time between steps to get maximum benefit. And SPF. Every day, regardless of whether it is sunny or not.
Hope that helps! Disclaimer: I’m not a beautician, just a 50+ yo menopausal woman who is trying to avoid Botox 😂
