I haven't had Liberty for a few years. At first when I saw Cosmetopia ranting about the bracelet & other items it put me off. However when the bracelet (which is actually rather nice) is put in a drawer as an extra with a £140 serum, how can you complain? I chose Liberty because I knew I'd use nearly everything and there were several products (including the Luna & Votary ) that I was excited about. Space NK was very popular this year, but it didn't contain many items that I was excited about. I didn't choose Liberty due to the box (I have 3 old ones) but the redesign of the box is fabulous.

I've worn the bracelet today and it's really pretty, very festive and cheery to look at and idly play with when I'm sitting through endless dull meetings. It's nice to have something unexpected (I've tried really hard to keep away from any spoilers).

Dontbesaft · 07/12/2023 00:42

I didn’t get the bracelet.
Double checked every box so far.
Any one else?

on the other hand, never had one before. I have no words for the unexpected joy this gives me

For me it’s not the individual products ( tho I am going to be broke from the items I now NEED). It just makes my get up routine so much fun

Jellycats4life · 07/12/2023 07:32

So this morning’s is a rollerball! I thought it was a bath or shower oil which is boring (I don’t do baths). Checked online and I was wrong. So that’s a result. Worth £25

Wish they wouldn’t keep putting this in the calendar I think this is the same as the previous 2 years. Something to pass on again for me.

Vermin · 07/12/2023 07:56

Hang on - was yours in a box?? Mine was smashed in the drawer but no box! I will hold off asking Liberty until I do. Also weirdly the whole calendar didn’t smell which I would have expected with smashed aromatherapy oil!

Yeknom · 07/12/2023 08:21

Mine wasn't in a box either!!!

(And now wondering whether I need the box to try and shift it on eBay 🤣)

QueefofSheena · 07/12/2023 08:23

DOD for me today, so I'll be passing mine on. It wasn't in a box.

@Vermin hope you get it sorted and that it hasn't ruined your AC. I wish they wouldn't put AA products in as they don't seem very secure. One of my BD boxes was ruined when the bath oil leaked everywhere, others had the same problem.

@Gnomegnomegnome and @WestrayWife I’ve had time to have a good look this morning. So far we have one day/night serum (Seated Queen), one night oil containing retinoids (SR night oil) and one specific night serum (Votary). You can use all three over the course of a week - probably best use would be SQ as the morning serum, votary as the evening serum and the oil more sparingly. Remember all products start to degrade once opened so consider how to use them effectively. I would probably use the SQ/Votary in rotation for a PM routine as I have a vitamin c serum I already use for the AM. The SR Luna oil I would use in replacement of either serum for a PM routine but you could layer this on after the SQ/Votary serum and before moisturiser. You would get better results from the retinoids if applied to clean skin though if your skin can handle it. All 3 will need to have a moisturiser applied afterwards.

The SQ can be used either AM or PM on a clean face and before a moisturiser. If using AM it acts as a skin booster but Remember to put SPF on after your moisturiser if using in the AM and especially if you are going to use the Luna night oil which contains retinoids. If using SQ in the PM as a skin booster, apply a moisturiser afterwards.

The Luna night oil contains retinoids so for skin experienced in any retinoid you should have no issues but always try carefully any new product. Do not use if pregnant. This product should be applied onto a clean skin and once settled, a moisturiser applied on top. If you have sensitive skin it might be sensible to remove and then apply a moisturiser. Make sure you use SPF the next day. I probably would use this a max of 3x pw.

The Votary serum is a real treat. Obviously as the name suggests it is a night treatment. You will need a moisturiser afterwards. I’ll use this on a non retinol night as I think that will get maximum benefit for my skin.

None of these products are a ‘game changer’ by themselves but they all can add great benefits if used correctly in combination with a consistent routine. Any good skincare regime requires a really good double cleanse first (For the PM, AN could be a single) and for me, acid toning (pixie glow pads are my favourite) has been a huge benefit. Double cleansing involves a balm/oil cleanser first to remove makeup/spf then another cleanser, maybe more gentle/foaming. But the most important part is giving time between steps to get maximum benefit. And SPF. Every day, regardless of whether it is sunny or not.

Hope that helps! Disclaimer: I’m not a beautician, just a 50+ yo menopausal woman who is trying to avoid Botox 😂

Vermin · 07/12/2023 08:33

@QueefofSheena good point - at least this was bottom row so nothing to leak onto. I’m going to get someone to check the rest of the bottom row for smashes later (and I still have two of these from past years so won’t chase a replacement!)

Fatlegs46 · 07/12/2023 09:03

Rubbish- I get these on every flight I take, so I’ve quite the collection.
It’ll be added to the pile on my desk, to be used when I have a stressful task or passed on to someone having a bad time.

listsandbudgets · 07/12/2023 09:03

i'm pleased with the AA roller but I really do like their products.

Even though i love it I may give it to DD as she has her A level mocks next week and probably needs all the relaxation help she can get (.Will feel a bit of a wrench though)

i wonder if they don't box them on purpose to make it harder for is to sell on. Or maybe cheaper for them to buy in bulk unboxed..

@Vermin but concerned you couldn't smell it as normally their products permeate the whole house..hope they've not given us water instead

Gnomegnomegnome · 07/12/2023 11:03

@Netaporter you are fabulous, thank you.

I’m not overly excited by today’s drawer as I already have at least two but maybe if I used them more I would be more relaxed!

BIossomtoes · 07/12/2023 12:00

I’m using the SQ serum in the mornings and really like it. I can see myself buying it, I’m a regular purchaser of the cold cream. Really good products at not ludicrous prices.

moogdroog · 07/12/2023 17:28

I'm pretty happy with today's offering. Deep Relax is my favourite AA bathoil (or was until DD 'slipped' while adding it to her bath last week she has Covid induced loss of smell, so a waste in both senses, FFS).
Work is mega stressful atm, so this can sit on my desk.
So far, really enjoying my first Liberty calendar, after years of longing for one.

casuarinatree · 07/12/2023 18:04

I've had so many of the AA rollerballs over the years that this is the first dud for me! Very happy overall so far - I'm really glad I got it again this year.

LittleBearPad · 07/12/2023 20:23

Todays offering made me laugh as my first thought was of this thread and the various sighs up and down the country at yet another AA rollerball

FizzyLaser · 07/12/2023 21:13

I’d like to say I’m invested in this
I leave before it’s light and come back when it’s dark.
I have no time to research the various products so literally open and say “oh”

no clue when I’ll look at them. January?

This is my first AA rollerball (and I am quite partial to an aromatherapy oil) so I guess I’m winning today at least 😅

FizzyLaser · 07/12/2023 21:56

Plus some of us aren’t indulged on “all the flights”.

check your privilege

🤣 You don’t get that on EasyJet. Besides, I haven’t been on a flight since 2010.

Yeknom · 08/12/2023 07:27

Looking forward to using todays, although with the amount of hair I have it'll be all gone in a few washes! 😆

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 08/12/2023 07:51

Today is Dizziac Deep Conditioner.

Apologies to those I’ve rubbed up the wrong way. I am aware of the privilege.
If Liberty put AA rollerballs in their on flight BA Business class toilet bags- and they do- then it’s not impossible that their customer base will collect them during a year. Sorry if that offended anyone.

listsandbudgets · 08/12/2023 08:01

@Fatlegs46 A lot if people here have saved all year for this AC. Please don't diminish our joy by calling things rubbish

As for todays I'm tempted to use it at the weekend and lie back with a face mask at the same time. Ive burnt my foot so can't walk about much or out proper shoes ( going g o work in my slippers!) so may as well lie about for a while
