@Gnomegnomegnome yes I need to sort my bits out and put them into some sort of order so I know when to put all the face stuff on.
I do have a M&S for Janvent, looking forward to that and don't have a clue what's in it!
I put my Liberty box on marketplace today and it has sold for £15 :)

Oooh well done @Isabelle70 - I sold two empty Liberty ones on ebay this year for a similar amount. But good going to get it done so quickly!

Must list mine asap. While the mood is there Grin Empty Liberty ACs go for a lot more than the others IME - like £15+ compared to a fiver if you're lucky for CB and JLP.

Isabelle70 · 28/12/2023 20:42

@clary I did see them on for more on eBay but I am in Guernsey and the postage cost would be the same value as the calendar! I am happy to get the £15 better than nothing and I was going to advertise it for £10 so glad I listed at a higher price.
Have also sold the Rose Inc blusher in the last half hour so I will put the cash to one of the calendar products I prefer.

Never understood the 7 am bjt

So missing the morning excitement and also reading your responses!
I'm a bit confused as to what to use with what (skin products)… if I use a hyauleronic product (Dr Sebagh for example) can I use the miracle oil from last year over it or will that stop it attracting the moisture from the air?
Im loving the rose roller perfume, not so keen on the others, I literally don't understand what Im smelling with the Bibi one!
The hair mask is really good left in whilst in the bath, even on my very fine, (but highlighted) hair when rinsed out well: Its not too heavy at all so I recommend trying it: (why does this change my fullstops into colons every time?):
It was lovely to have plenty to keep and plenty to give away :)

Any help on which products to use together will be very much appreciated (@Netaporter ?) I use AB serum and cream and swap and change them with the things in the AC - I'm tempted to lose the very expensive AB habit this year, or at least for a while so looking for alternatives that really work!

Netaporter · 29/12/2023 11:40

@m0mma a good routine is :
1: cleanse (double in the evening, first cleanse use an oil/balm based product, second a gentle foaming)
2.Acid Toner
3.treat - so any serum- type product or retinol which should be applied to clean skin (Hyaluronic acid falls into this category)
4.moisturise - an oil based product such as the Luna oil could be a final step for the evening routine as an example, moisturiser on top of a facial oil could be a bit of a waste
5.SPF if it is the daytime regardless of whether or not it is sunny.

leave enough time between steps for your skin to have a chance to absorb the products.

Retinols (vit A) should only be used in the evening and not excessively during a week. Do not apply any retinols to the eye areas or sensitive skin around the mouth. Always use an SPF when using a retinol.

You could use the facial oil over the Hyaluronic acid as long as you have left enough time to let the HA absorb into the skin and it is not the Dr Sebagh retinol one (which is a ‘treat’ product not a moisturising one)

Vit C products are skin brighteners so best used in the morning. However they degrade the moment you open the bottle so don’t chop and change when using those. Finish the bottle and move onto something else. I love Oskia Vit c capsules for this reason as you use them individually.

Hope that helps! HNY!

m0mma · 29/12/2023 13:12

@Netaporter you are a star, thank you SO much!
HNY to you too :)

Bimblesalong · 30/12/2023 23:37

So, now we are a few days into having all the products, any standouts? I’m loving the lelabo rose and have bought another on Vinted. The handcream is also lovely.

countdowntonap · 31/12/2023 09:34

@Bimblesalongmine is all still boxed! I’ve scheduled Tuesday evening to have a beauty product ‘audit’ and will re-open each drawer then. I need to sort some products from Beauty Drops last year and make sure I don’t leave anything to expire!

clowniform · 31/12/2023 10:35

Loving Votary and The Seated Queen. Also quite impressed with the Zelens mask the only time I tried it. Surprised how much I like both LBTY fragrances (candle and Tudor), and now they have reasonable sizes I'm tempted to pick up more.

TheLonelyStarbucksLovers · 31/12/2023 10:42

I’m really liking the Luna night oil. Can I ask if others are putting on a moisturiser after using it, or is it the last product you’re using at night? The texture of it makes me feel I shouldn’t put anything else on after it, but I’m not sure, and I’m pretty clueless when it comes to this kind of thing!

I love both the poets of Berlin and Bibbi perfumes, but annoyingly have just lost my sense of smell due to covid, so they’re wasted on me at the moment.

Bimblesalong · 31/12/2023 11:08

@countdowntonap oooh what a nice thing to do. I also need a sort out and will enjoy revisiting the products.

yes, also loved the Poets although I’m not so sure on the lbty Tudor and the ghost of Tom - may put those on Vinted.

gah @TheLonelyStarbucksLovers What a pain. Get well soon! I already use the sr as part of my routines, having had the “come to bed with me”
minos set last year. @Netaporter has lots of good advice on layering thru this thread.

Netaporter · 31/12/2023 12:55

@TheLonelyStarbucksLovers i haven’t opened mine yet, but it does depend upon how your skin reacts to the retinol element as to whether or not you moisturise on top of it. I don’t normally with facial oils but that would be part of my lazy girl PM routine when ICBA 😂

Great article at the weekend in the Times about this year’s best/most forwardly looked to products arriving. One of which is a genius attachment which reduces the appearance of wrinkle and attaches to an oral b electric toothbrush.

Howmanyroses · 31/12/2023 13:31

I love the Luna oil, no reaction whatsoever even though I am new to retinol. I have noticed a real difference in the texture and softness of my skin ever since I started using it about a month ago. So really pleased with this one and will likely repurchase. Also pleased with the lipstick, Bibi perfume and the hyluaronic acid

m0mma · 31/12/2023 16:21

@Netaporter that sounds interesting! I went down the rabbit hole of LED masks, radiofrequency tightening and toning devices today for hours! Completebody leading the wish list for now 😱

Yeknom · 31/12/2023 19:31

I thoroughly enjoyed the Malin & Groetz soap bar, although I did go through it very quickly.

Handcream was also a winner, along with the seated queen serum and the votary night serum.

I really liked the rose inc lip/cheek stain and the ridiculously beautifully packaged lipstick (I got commuted).

The shampoo is a bit too oily for me but I love the smell and the conditioner is great.

Perfume wise - I also love the Tudor Liberty scent which really surprised me.

Used the under eye patches on Christmas Day and don't think they did much 🙈.

Haven't used the hair clips yet but I've worn the bracelet a few times.

This is v helpful thank you. I feel I need to do a big sort out and categorise stuff. I have a lot of bottles that I get a bit addled between

FizzyLaser · 30/01/2024 21:23

Just started using my lipstick, I got the commuter shade and I bloody love it. If anybody doesn’t want theirs or the other one to let me know and I’ll buy off you.

Also just read the original post from this thread. Why could nobody open the advent calendar before 7 am?

I got one off of vinted. And the other colour Solid Ground. And then Mad Red just for the hell of it. Paid about £13 for them.

@FizzyLaser
It’s not that people couldn’t open their AC before 7am, it’s just a common thing in the AC opening threads to ask people not to post about that day’s item until after 7am to avoid spoilers.

Some people would open at midnight though and count that as the next day, while others might be catching up before bed at that time after a late shift at work. It's just agreed etiquette, has been the case on these threads for years. Why come on two months late and criticise?

FizzyLaser · 31/01/2024 11:28

Thanks. Bought on vinted!

m0mma · 13/05/2024 13:04

@Netaporter you mentioned they aren't game changers in themselves: Id love to know of any actual game changers youd recommend?!

Ooh I can’t recall what I was referring to! I think I meant each product itself won’t change your skin, but a consistent routine will. Personally for my skin (older, fair, freckles, don’t tan easily, have redness around the nasal area) are:
NIOD Fractionated eye serum
Oskia Vit c capsules
pixi glow pads (the wipe and leave ones)
Strivectin peptight - the skin brightening and the eye serum (use the former as a buffer before vit c or retinols and the latter after the NIoD serum)
any of the Elemis collagen range (love the cleansing balm)
Kate Somerville peptide moisturiser (a good dupe is the inkey list one as the KS one is ££££)
clarins SPF 50 daily (regardless of the seasons or weather)

hope that helps!
