Merry Christmas everyone. Bit disappointed with the AB cream for the last day I would have preferred the candle today as it feels more of a treat.
See you all December 2024

Merry Christmas everyone. I lusted after the Liberty advent calendar since they launched it, and I've thoroughly enjoyed finally having one. Loved following along on thus thread, thank you.

Feel a bit meh about today's but it a decent size. Sure we got a smaller AB cream in last BD, so feels like a weird choice for the end.

See you next year!

Me too, the cream is nice but I love the candle.

Overall, I loved the calendar and really enjoyed opening it with all of you. Merry Christmas x

Really enjoyed the AC, and already seriously toying getting again next year!
Particularly loved the perfumes, especially Le Labo, which I didn't think I'd be bothered with but it smells divine, the Rose Inc blush, Sunday Riley Luna and I actually liked the hair clips (although had to glue back together!).
It's made a very enjoyable December
X

Growlybear83 · 25/12/2023 11:29

Yes I've really enjoyed Liberty as well. I chose it because it had more perfumes than most of the others and I'll definitely be getting it again next year.

Gnomegnomegnome · 25/12/2023 12:48

Merry Christmas to you all!

I loved today’s. I gave an actual gasp as I opened it because I loved the mini one in the BD but it’s too expensive to replace. So I’m very happy! I agree that it is better than last year.

Gnomegnomegnome · 25/12/2023 12:50

My favourites from the calendar have to be Luna, Votary, the clips and today’s cream although some I haven’t yet tried (soap, moisturiser etc as I already have some in use/waiting to be used).

RudolfsLeftToe · 25/12/2023 13:30

Did think the AB cream was a bit of an odd finisher but I ran out of mine from last year yesterday so can’t complain! I didn’t actually like it when I first tried it but really like it now, I think it’s very much a winter moisturiser as it made my face too oily in the summer so now I’m using it at the right time it’s doing what it should!

RudolfsLeftToe · 25/12/2023 13:31

Favourites this year are all the perfumes, seated queen serum, candle and votary!

nomeslice · 25/12/2023 14:15

Ive been lurking on this thread. Ive enjoyed the calendar too, though I seem to have gone against the grain.. loved the hair oils and clips, lipstick and needed a new mascara. I felt there was maybe one too many perfumes.
There was a sparkly plastic ring with a gem on it as well as the cream today in my drawer. I was confused as it seemed out of place. Spent ages googling and checking calendar contents and came here to see if any of you had one.. turns out my 5 year old DD stashed it in there for me for an extra surprise. I kept last year's box and filled it full of goodies for her so we have been doing our calendars together. I'll miss our morning ritual. Thanks for the skincare tips!

thatstornit · 25/12/2023 14:17

It's so interesting to see how everyone likes such different things. Personally I'm quite disappointed by the number of scents this year as I'm quite fussy about perfumes and don't like any of them! But I see lots of people loving them and that's the beauty [ahem] of an advent calendar.

On a slightly separate note, does anyone know someone who got the men's version? I bought it for my partner and although he said he was happy, I was quite unimpressed with what he got throughout the month, especially compared with mine. He got a candle for today's which is quite nice but I could see he was disappointed.

Gnomegnomegnome · 25/12/2023 14:37

@nomeslice bless her! Such a cute thing to do!

SarahC50 · 25/12/2023 14:53

Really enjoyed the AC. My favourites are the Luna night oil, poets of Berlin and the Barbara strum moisturiser.

DOD were the hair oils, the heavy conditioning hair mask and the bar of soap.

Loved trying the different perfumes and liked the lipstick and the cream blusher.

Personally don't like the AB cream in door 25 but will use it.

Overall I think I preferred my JL one last year and will go back to that next year.

Have a lovely day everyone xx

Netaporter · 25/12/2023 15:21

I’m curious as to the disappointment of the AB cream? A 50ml bottle is £255.. hence i am very happy. I don’t recall having one last year tho?

I’ll admit I opened number 25 like Charlie Bucket with his first wonka bar in case I had the Golden Ticket calendar and a grand to spend at Liberty… alas it was not to be. Congratulations to the lucky recipient wherever they may be.

Gnomegnomegnome · 25/12/2023 15:54

@Netaporter it was the beauty drop not last year’s advent calendar although that was the rich cream (can’t remember if this is too). I love it, very luxurious!

PonyPatter44 · 25/12/2023 17:22

@nomeslice that is adorable!

I'm really impressed with my calendar, actually. The only DOD for me was the lipstick, purely because it isn't really my colour. I liked everything else and my skin looks amazing at the moment!!

wizzywig · 25/12/2023 17:57

@nomeslice are.you going to give her your empty calender, so she can make you one next year?

Buster27 · 25/12/2023 20:53

Delighted with today's, loved the mini in previous BD but wouldn't purchase due to price, so this is a lovely treat.

My favourites were the AB cream, Barbara Strum moisturiser and the candle. First time having the Liberty AC and really enjoyed it (and the thread!).

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 25/12/2023 21:06

I've had the Liberty advent calendar for the past eight years and it's never let me down.

I did Space NK for Jadvent last year and was really impressed. Seriously considered swapping for the main event.

However, reading all the threads and reviewing all the contents I do think Liberty remains the main contender.

Thanks for all the comments as ever.

RudolfsLeftToe · 25/12/2023 22:43

Sorry the AB cream was in the 2021 calendar… I must have really not liked it when I first tried it! Happy I’ve got the mini on for my travel bag and today’s one too.
It’s not long until the next beauty drop, wonder if any calendar items might make an appearance.
Next year I’d like a decent sized shower gel and body cream, I loved the La bruket ones from the BD I think it was. Overall really happy and loved the addition of the bracelet and clips as something different. Simple studs would be good too.

I called if ubiquitous because it’s in ALL the high end beauty advent calendars. I got it from Cult Beauty last year, I’m sure other ACs had it this year as well as Liberty… and I’m currently using the mini tube from the beauty drop.

I always think the brand can’t possibly justify the RRP since they’re always giving it away!

Isabelle70 · 26/12/2023 10:41

Did anyone else miss opening their calendar this morning? I could certainly get used to a daily treat!

Me! I might have to do Jadvent next year!

Gnomegnomegnome · 26/12/2023 22:40

@Isabelle70 I did! Although I settled for sorting it out instead. Hair stuff with the other hair stuff, skincare in the cabinet etc.

Isabelle70 · 28/12/2023 19:46

@Gnomegnomegnome yes I need to sort my bits out and put them into some sort of order so I know when to put all the face stuff on.
I do have a M&S for Janvent, looking forward to that and don't have a clue what's in it!
I put my Liberty box on marketplace today and it has sold for £15 :)
