Liberty's like dr sturm don't they? An item i haven't used before.
Does anyone else have a hard time finding the numbers on the drawers?

Isabelle70 · 16/12/2023 09:43

The Sunday Riley Luna night oil is giving me cyst like swellings. I had one by my brow, one on my cheek and now another on the start of my brow above the eye. No spot, just swelling and redness. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a usual side effect of retinoids?

Buster27 · 16/12/2023 10:01

@wizzywig yes! On day 3 I accidentally opened 13.

I have an abundance of serums now, but I love hyaluronic acid so I'm pleased with this.

Jellycats4life · 16/12/2023 10:03

I always think HA serums are a bit boring, but they’re at least good for layering in a daytime routine. I didn’t realise it was so expensive! Holy moly: £72.

@wizzywig Yes I have to tip the entire thing backwards so the light illuminates the numbers 😅

this is a good product that will get used. We had the same one two years ago I believe.

Hadenough2022 · 16/12/2023 10:07

I think retinoids can make your skin red but I don’t think there should be swelling. How often are you using it?

Netaporter · 16/12/2023 10:17

looking forward to using today’s product !

For anyone asking, you could use this as a serum (treatment) before moisturising or as a buffer to help introduce a stronger treatment product like the Luna oil (allow time for it to settle on the skin before adding anything else).

@Isabelle70 it does sound as if you have had a reaction to the Luna oil, assuming you haven’t changed anything else. Try using today’s product before applying it to see if it helps but introduce once a week to see if you tolerate it.

Re yesterday’s product, you apply all over the face.

Happy Saturday everyone.

Isabelle70 · 16/12/2023 10:17

@Hadenough2022 every other evening. I am only using it on my upper face as I do/did have rosacea which was always in my chin area so I have avoided there. The swelling feels like it's going to be a spot but nothing becomes of it.
I will continue to use it as it does look like it's making a difference to my under eye area. But if the swelling could do one even better!!

Isabelle70 · 16/12/2023 10:20

@Netaporter thanks. No other changes as I don't want to open everything at once.
I am used to having terrible skin so not precious about it but if if can help the under eyes all good :)

Waspie · 16/12/2023 10:33

I'm getting a bit overwhelmed with the number of creams and serums now. I think I'm going to stick to using the same ones each day until they run out and then start on a new set. Does that sound like a plan?

I'm thinking - morning: Cleanse followed by Seated Queen Serum (day 2) and Dr Barbara Sturm face cream (day 4)
Evening: Cleanse followed by Votary Serum (day 6) and Ren Overnight Glow night cream (day 15)

I'm not sure where the Luna Night Oil fits in though. I've used it a few times but my reading of the experts on this thread suggests I should use it once or twice a week rather than every day due to the retinoids?

Netaporter · 16/12/2023 10:42

@Isabelle70 absolutely do not put retinols anywhere near the eye area. You must use specific products as the skin is much more delicate.

When I say ‘all over the face’ I mean forehead, nose, cheeks, around chin and mouth area. Avoid the eye areas.

Netaporter · 16/12/2023 10:46

@Waspie the Votary and the REN product are both ‘treat’ products. It’s a waste to use both together so I would alternate. You also need SPF for your daytime routine (I can’t recall if Dr Sturm’s product has one it it). SPF needs to be on last before makeup otherwise it is akin to putting your knickers on over your raincoat 😉

Housewife2010 · 16/12/2023 10:54

I've had the Liberty AC 4 times & this Dr Sebagh hyaluronic acid has been in every one!

My drawer was empty today 😩

Starlightdarkness · 16/12/2023 12:30

I used the REN moisturiser last night and it was lovely, skin felt very soft this morning.

Some people say they experience “purging” after starting a retinol product so it could be that. I guess you have two choices - persevere in the hope that it calms down, or give up because you don’t want to have painful spots. I’d maybe give it a week and see how it goes?

Thanks @Netaporter, I will rethink.

giadaros · 17/12/2023 00:37

Anyone else getting a horrible taste in their mouth with the lipstick? I love it and it goes on like a dream but it's transferring to anything I eat or drink and leaves a really horrible aftertaste in my mouth 😌

Gnomegnomegnome · 17/12/2023 07:31

@giadaros not that I have noticed!

I love todays drawer! It was one of the only ones that I remember after peeking at the display in store! I did a good job of making myself forget what was in it 😂

wizzywig · 17/12/2023 08:38

Is this Larry King? The TV presenter?

QueefofSheena · 17/12/2023 09:16

I like the clips, I can use them with my wigs. I'm not so keen on the hair oil but I can pass it on.

Netaporter · 17/12/2023 09:31

@wizzywig lol, no it’s a high-end Uk brand named after the founder

Hadenough2022 · 17/12/2023 09:48

The hair oil dropper was slightly loose in mine. It’s a miracle it hadn’t leaked. Not so sure about the clips may get passed on

Hadenough2022 · 17/12/2023 09:49

Maybe that’s too frequent for your skin I tend to use retinol every 3 nights

EvelynKatie · 17/12/2023 10:00

Worst drawer for me. I have oily greasy hair so hair oil is a no go, and one of my clips is broken.
