Happy New Year! Glad to see some new additions to the sale, I happened to be browsing the homeware as things were added so I bought a few pieces from there and some more socks.
I ordered the Leach preparation bowls but they disappeared so quickly I’m not sure my order will be fulfilled.

@Saurus72 I’m still waiting for my 2 orders from the end of last week to be fulfilled, I’m getting a bit impatient.

I've also got quite a few things to send back so I need to get my spreadsheet sorted to make sure all my refunds are forthcoming.

PretLea · 02/01/2024 16:30

@Snowyowl78 @ScottishMouse are tiu talking about the pleat collar blue short sleeve shirt? or the ruffle collar long sleeve ones?

ScottishMouse · 02/01/2024 16:33

Yep, that’s the one I mean too @PretLea

faustina · 02/01/2024 16:35

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - oh I must have missed the leach preparation bowls - bugger! I've been eyeing them up for ages!

alliscalm · 02/01/2024 16:36

@Theteapotsbrokenspout I spoke to customer service earlier today asking if they could delay a sales despatch as I’m not going to be at home at the weekend and she said they are later than usual at the warehouse and were only just fulfilling orders from December 26.

I’ve just received the posy green tie neck Bryn and I’m a bit undecided. It fits well but I’m slightly put off by the feel of the crepe. I bought one last year and it’s the wrong colours for me and too long; my only Toast mistake so far. But I’m very tempted by the slubby frill neck blouse and the velvet pinafore.

PretLea · 02/01/2024 16:38

Thanks @ScottishMouse @Snowyowl78 I’ve had my eye on that one too, but I’ve never ventured into the ruffled collar territory…wondering if I should take the plunge. Did you go for your normal Toast size?

Snowyowl78 · 02/01/2024 16:45

@PretLea j went for my normal toast size- medium. It’s quite short, doesn’t bother me as I am also quite short but other people may want the length of the bigger sizes. The collar isn’t particularly mad, is subtle enough to be quirky but not clownish.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/01/2024 16:58

@faustina I've had those and the mixing bowls on my wish list for ages, fingers crossed the order is fulfilled. I might just have to bite the bullet and buy the mixing bowls full price as I’m not sure they’ll ever be in the sale.

@alliscalm Thank you, sounds like I need to be a bit more patient if toast are that far behind with their orders.

OftenOrange · 02/01/2024 17:02

The wretched site keeps crashing after 200,but persistence was rewarded ; by eliminating categories I found my most wanted in the sale .
The embroidered skirt in Tent Green , ordered 2 sizes because of reports of a very tight waistband.

The Olive Donegal is staying and I’ve already worn it twice . A very useful and comforting piece, as long as I think of it as a coat it doesn’t feel quite so so unflatteringly big, so no buyer’s remorse !

I’m probably keeping the Breton in pebble slate as the neck is so nice , and can’t bear to return the Bryn Tie neck in Posy Green , it’s very casual and fun and the blue fabric makes me swoon!

PretLea · 02/01/2024 17:09

Thanks @Snowyowl78 I’ve just ordered it in my usual size!

Dee1224 · 02/01/2024 17:37

Thanks for the coat sympathy @Noeggsontoast and @OftenOrange - I went real life shopping today to try to find something to replace it but no joy😿. @Noeggsontoast - your shoe story reminded me of when our pup ate the heel off my new school shoes and I still had to wear them 🙀

Noeggsontoast · 02/01/2024 17:53

@Dee1224 oh no! In spite of their antics we still love them so. It's a pity you didn't find anything today but I'm sure a perfect coat is just around the corner.

Dee1224 · 02/01/2024 18:09

Thanks @Noeggsontoast 🤞

TerrierOrTerror · 02/01/2024 18:26

Nothing new to the sale I had my eye on hugely, a bit of a relief as I went out for a full day of work wear shopping today.

Stoic123 · 02/01/2024 18:38

Picked up some Falke socks as they are always useful. Also a couple of small home bits (one for a present). Nothing else which is good news for the bank account and stuffed wardrobe.

After the resizing exercise, interesting to see just how much stocks is left in XXS and XS sizes.

ScottishMouse · 02/01/2024 19:38

@faustina, my humbug sweater has just been refunded if you are looking out for it.

faustina · 02/01/2024 19:52

@ScottishMouse - thank you! I have been diligently checking but no luck so far. hope you managed to find your basket?

ScottishMouse · 02/01/2024 19:56

Hopefully you manage to nab it when they restock the website.
I just ordered a large basket in the end @faustina. Along with some full price pillowcases and the yak scarf I hoped would make it to the sale. And the chambray frill collar shirt. I returned all of my first sale orders in the end so I can hopefully justify these full price buys.

MsDastardley · 02/01/2024 20:58

I received the Astrid dress today. I really like it, the colours and style suit me. But… the front facing doesn’t lay flat and pokes out of the neckline. I ordered a 14 as I thought it looked similar to denim neat dress. It’s very tight on the bust 😬. I also had the blue stripe boat neck tee. The medium is on the tight side, so that will also be going back. Shame, as I really liked the colour.

The sizing thing drives me mad. Every dress I bought last year was exchanged for bigger/smaller sizes. No consistency at all. I can recognise they are different styles, but surely toast should allow for this in the sizes…

Saurus72 · 02/01/2024 21:24

@MsDastardley Yes, the sizing issue is just so weird, as a mainly online company, you would have thought it would be massively in their interest to get it consistent to minimise returns. When I look at the recommended sizes on the website vs sizes I’ve actually bought I’d say it’s completely unreliable and the reality is I think I need to carry on ordering 2 different sizes. I wouldn’t mind if it was either under or oversized if it were consistent, but it’s all over the place. Why is it so hard 🤷‍♀️

ToastCosILoveIt · 02/01/2024 23:13

In the last three months I have been ordering some (mainly work but a couple of party bits) stuff from Me and Em. I have to say that size wise I am consistently a 12. It is great to have a company where you pretty much know what size you are going to be. I have had a few great pieces from them.

Countmeout · 03/01/2024 05:46

Well I thought the Leach preparation bowls would never be in sale so you never know @Theteapotsbrokenspout . I, too , am hoping they actually materialise.

I love that skirt @OftenOrange . It looks really beautiful.

I have opted for that same size in the velvet skirt as I bought the poplin one in the summer and checked the jacket measurements after ordering of course. Luckily find it seems similar to a workwear jacket I have so fingers crossed.
I think it is mainly new sizing in the jersey wear that has changed more drastically . I am getting a bit fed up with the cycle of returning and then waiting for refunds however but it’s so difficult with no shops anywhere nearby. Not that sale is in shops is it? Also sometimes there’s a nagging doubt as to whether the alternative size might look different/better/be righter 🫤 but if you don’t have a number of sizes to try you’ll never know.

I have an order looking as if it’s stuck in Cardiff - small accessory- for 10 days now. No point contacting Toast until it’s 14 I imagine. Hopefully it will randomly turn up today or tomorrow.

Just to say, watch out for your refund amounts folks. I have just spotted that I have only been refunded £20 for the Cheaney brogues I returned, instead of £170. 🤷‍♀️ I was also refunded £374.99 yesterday for an order I returned which totalled £375. I’m not going to fight over a penny, but I’ve sent an email to query the missing £150.
This has happened to me with Toast a few times now. Never with any other retailer. It’s very odd, I’m not sure how it happens. So check your refunds carefully.
