Are the green/navy the wool ones?

Countmeout · 30/12/2023 12:49

No they’re cotton @peerie . I think from a couple of seasons ago. Nice weight for spring/ autumn but not a summer colour.

You can wash the cotton ones which is a big plus

peerie · 30/12/2023 13:04

These are the ones I got
I thought they were green and brown 😆
I love the oversize fitand will be keeping - regardless of colour!

peerie · 30/12/2023 13:08

Did you not get any wool ones? I'm most interested in these and I hate the confusion about the sizes 😬
(apologies for the brain picking)

Countmeout · 30/12/2023 13:25

No the only woollen ones at the time I looked at the sale I already have.
The green ones are navy and green I’m almost sure. There’s a photo somewhere of the model wearing navy with them. They’re the old sizing.

This is the woollen ones I have already which were in the sale. I got mine in last years sale. They are also the old sizing.

And these are the ones that are linen and the new sizing from the sale

Thanks for the detailed expanation
Those wool ones are the ones I narrowly missed out on, so lovely

My sale buys have arrived. I ordered the Alix in 3 different fabrics - all spring summer weight. I thought I’d be returning the green/ navy checked ones but I really like them. The other 2 are navy with a stripe, one finer than the other. The ones which I think are this years new sizing, think there’s a matching dress, are too small, they’re sized xs, s, m etc. I ordered rather optimistically xs which I would usually do in an elastic waist - The others are the old 8 and very comfortable. Only planned on keeping 1 pair but will have a think. Fortunately prefer the strip of the size 8, they’ll look great with a white T-shirt.
Neat cardigan in Pea is a lovely colour in the flesh but a bit high in the neck and not sure I like the wool.
Cashmere wrap as expected.
wrapping paper has gone into my stash.
Table gifts so pretty. I’ve already stroked them.

I have the checked Alix'es and the matching jacket, and have worn both a lot since I got them. Can really recommend them! The trousers run a bit big in the old sizing.

@BettinaInDenmark Liking your Olive outfit , I’m picturing you in a beautiful Norwegian landscape wearing it !
@Countmeout Thank you for Donegal feedback ; as I’m preparing my many returns I’m finding it impossible to include that . It’s so warm and so Toast that despite looking swamped I’m inclined to keep it .May end up as a dressing gown, but it won’t languish unworn.

OftenOrange · 30/12/2023 14:21

My second parcel unwrapped and tried.
Tie Neck Indigo Denim dress , massive and unflattering on me , but it’s a lovely supple fabric and the sort of Utility piece that T do so well.

Tie neck Bryn with the two different fabrics, love it and fits perfectly .
It’s sufficiently laid back looking which is great as I don’t suit dressy.
I know it’s extremely surplus to requirements and I’ve still not worn similar from the Summer sale .
Marinating , it seems unpopular and will probably be around in future sales

faustina · 30/12/2023 14:36

My jumpers arrived! I've just done a marathon try on with every conceivable item of footwear and coats etc

The ribbed donegal sweater in firewood (M) is a wonderful colour but it sort of sits on me like piece of armour and also it's not been finished properly (bits of wool tied off in the front etc).

The seamless yak wool sweater (S) is really nice, but the sleeves are a bit weird and the neck is just a tiny bit too high and I know I'd be pulling it down the whole time

The humbug jumper (L) is beautiful - it's not as thick as the donegal so even though it looks very thick and is really warm, it fits under my long wool coat nicely. I could probably get along with a medium but I think they have sold out in that size. I don't think it's too big? Please say if you think it is

I'm keeping the cotton wool check trousers in XXS - they're very quirky but wonderful! Please ignore the mess

I don't post here very often, but I do love reading all your posts.

Anyway, my sale order finally arrived. I dithered overnight and missed out on the cheaney shoes I had my eye on, which I'm still gutted about, so I just had 2 items, the batik dress and the velvet pleated skirt.

The batik dress is definitely a keeper - it's got a lovely shape and fit to it.

I want to love the brown velvet pleated skirt, but it's sooo creased that it's really hard to tell at the moment! Does anyone know the best way to try to get the creases out - the label says not to iron the velvet itself, but can I iron it on the reverse? Or steam it? (It does have a cool iron symbol on the label). I'm torn between wanting to see what it looks like uncreased, but not wanting to make it unreturnable in the process(!)

faustina · 30/12/2023 14:43

This is the yak wool seamless jumper if it helps anyone who wants to see what it's like

Stoic123 · 30/12/2023 14:43

@faustina - I like the humbug on you and, to me, the sizing looks relaxed rather than ridiculous (helped by good length on you). Medium might be a bit better but you can get away with a large. Maybe worth stalking M returns for the next 10 days just in case. Love the trousers on you.

I also found the yak neck too high.

faustina · 30/12/2023 14:51

@Stoic123 - thank you - yes I think it's meant to be fitted and quite short in the body, so the length in the L isn't too much. I'd also worry that the neck would be too high in a smaller size (for me). It is a shame about the Yak isn't it? Otherwise it's so lovely and very much like cashmere - soft and warm. Maybe I will stalk a medium for a few days. I've asked before but forgotten the answer: can you make more than one return for an order?

I'm hoping I get away with wearing those trousers out without someone thinking I have pyjamas on!

ScottishMouse · 30/12/2023 14:54

@faustina, I don’t think it looks too big, but in case you want to try a M, I returned one yesterday, so it should be back at Toast Towers mid-week. Love it but just too itchy for me sadly.

Stoic123 · 30/12/2023 14:54

@faustina - I've not done it myself but I think someone on here has made more than one return on an order before.

ScottishMouse · 30/12/2023 14:57

Why am I eying up the yellow Mill Pond culottes yet again? I have tried them twice before and sent them back after some dithering both times. I would definitely have kept them in a slightly less look-at-me fabric. But having tried the Ikat ones from my sale parcel on again today, I’m just not convinced as they are much longer and so full length on me. Plus more than twice the price of the mill pond ones!

Does anyone have these and can convince me of their virtues?

ScottishMouse · 30/12/2023 14:58

@faustina , I have made two returns from the same order before. No problem doing so, just go online as you would normally and it creates another label for you.

faustina · 30/12/2023 14:58

Oh thank you @ScottishMouse ! It was slightly itchy but not as bad as the donegal, and I am itch tolerant. I will stalk - and also now I think you can sign up for notifications!

Thanks @Stoic123

Saurus72 · 30/12/2023 14:59

@faustina That’s a lovely outfit, relaxed but definitely clothes not PJs, looks lovely on you!

faustina · 30/12/2023 15:02

@Saurus72 - thank you! I've been on the hunt for a neutral jumper for ages- much harder to find than you'd think!

Stoic123 · 30/12/2023 15:08

Very cosy in my new sales jumper....and rocking a similar palette in the '70s 😄

@OftenOrange I can just imagine snuggling up on the sofa in that olive cardigan .

@BettinaInDenmark I thought they were a fairly generous size. Do you think it is navy with the green? I am not sure I trust my own eyes now.

@faustina i have made 2 returns from the same order after changing my mind about keeping something. It was no problem.
Will you become irritated about it being too big as you wear it? Remember the Indigo Alix?

I have spent a while this afternoon measuring Alixes. The linen xs ones £75 in the sale are only about 60cm in the unstretched waistband whereas the rest of my collection are between 65 and 69. Wet day here and I obviously have very little else to do 😳 Anyone bought them in S and would like to measure?

That jumper looks great @Stoic123 . Love your hair too and quite envious of your bus.

@RockaLock I find with my skirts just hanging them up overnight helps a lot with the creases. I would try that first. Then maybe ironing on the reverse side.
