General “waifs and strays” beauty advent calendar opening thread

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads (though also happy for contents of those to be shared here too).

As previously, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - food, jam, socks anyone?

Please do not include spoilers before 7am on the relevant day. Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

I’ll be opening the Vogue and Selfridges calendars this year. Really looking forward to Day 1.

I’ve gone home-made too - something from the cupboard every day that I’ve never used. No more buying new stuff until I’ve tried all these (good theory…!). I blame the M&S beauty bags, I was a sucker for those but ended up just putting most things away and forgetting about them. Now’s their time to shine 😀

Yesterday Elemis cleanser and toner that was a gift. I usually prefer a foaming wash but this was a nice change. Today is a set of moisturising gloves / deep treatment for hands.

Day 2 of Boots premium is a Fenty lip balm. It’s nice but it’s a pity to get two lip products in two consecutive days. Aware that that’s a first world problem!

That was my thought too. But yes, it does look nice. It has a gentle hint of colour, which I like.

Today in my refilled AC was olaplex no3 and some wine gums.

I can see something looking at me from tomorrow’s drawer. It has eyes.

H&B this morning is a little bottle of rosemary essential oil. I love rosemary but have to admit I don’t know what to do with this.

I use Rosemary oil in my Christmas candle blends. If you like the scent, you can place a few drops on a cotton pad and leave it on a radiator. The smell will waft around the house when you put the heating on. Or use in a bowl of warm water or an oil burner for similar effect. A couple of drops in your shower tray beforr turning on the shower is also great. It has stress busting and mood boosting properties as well as being good for respiratory function.

Day 2 of Diptyque is a mini (10ml) of Eau de Minthé. I had a quick sniff and don't like it but I'm still really happy as I wanted to try it.

Day 2 Diptyque and the perfume bottle is a perfect size for a handbag. I wished all perfume was available in this size. Allure used to be available in this size but they stopped selling it.

Or you can mix it in your hand with shampoo for hair growth

Day 2 of Ok beauty is a glittery nail varnish . Definately a DoD for me . Only wear nail varnish occasionally and can never see me reaching for this beauty. I will be gifting to DD or DN

Day 2 of LookFantastic was an Espa shower gel.
Ive never used this brand before and it smells divine!
Will hide it and use on a night away soon ❤️

Day 1 was a nice black pair with a bit of pattern on.
Day 2 a pair with one bright yellow leg and one bright blue leg. Wtf.

Day 2 of Boots No7 Ultimate is a lift and curl mascara. Lancome is a Hydra Zen Gel Cream which is moisturising and soothing apparently.

My ds (6) is excited about the glittery silver nail varnish in OK Beauty. He likes shiny things so I think that's why! Yesterday's Rodial vitamin C cleanser was better, I think, and a substantial amount of it!

@Snowplop Your dd will hopefully love that brown eyeko liquid eyeliner - I repurchased that one because it was far more flattering and easy for me to use than black ones.

Kiehls day 2 is a mini mini tube of vitamin c eye cream .
