General “waifs and strays” beauty advent calendar opening thread

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads (though also happy for contents of those to be shared here too).

As previously, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - food, jam, socks anyone?

Please do not include spoilers before 7am on the relevant day. Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

I’ll be opening the Vogue and Selfridges calendars this year. Really looking forward to Day 1.

I would wear the tights too. 🙈🙈

Man, the Pukka tea calendar is rank! Day after day of utterly hideous cups of disgustingness.

I loathe camomile and can't stand licorice in infusions and yet there they are. Serried ranks of watery nastiness. Every. Damn. Day.

Sorry, I know I'm an ungrateful bitch but it's just horrid! I think I might open all the doors and bring it to work. Other people seem to like them. Goodness knows why.

@TragicMuse - I understand your disappointment - I had a H&B tea advent a few years ago, and it was vile. I gave up trying eventually and donated the remainder to my friend - bizarrely she loved them!

I've had the pukka one in the past and loved it.

Hate chamomile too. One of my kids had a tendency to conjunctivitis. Chamomile is brilliant for clearing it up and preventing it getting worse.

Day 6 Soap and Glory was a Magnificoco body butter, 50ml mini.

Gutted there are only 12 days of the tights.

Day 6 LIB- have used before and it's brilliant on my skin.

Lancôme today is a L’absolu Rouge mini lipstick in Drama Matte. Not keen as too dark for me. Boots No7 Ultimate is a full-size Laboratories Resurfacing Peel containing glycolic acid which I’ll try.

Quite pleased with my M&S body lotion today and thrilled to get a mini body spray in my 2022 rituals calendar as it’s one I have had before and very nice!

Had to stop myself opening a new sock door - waiting until tomorrow…

@Dogsitterwoes - I think day 13-24 on here should be pics of you, (or anyone else you can persuade), wearing each pair of those wonderful tights in sequence. They are quite spectacular.

I had thought the Italian type ones were my favourite, but today’s have left me breathless with anticipation for tomorrow’s offering!

Day 7 Elle is a full size Sali Hughes exfoliant. I haven't tried any of the SH range so will be keen to see if this is any good.

I'm more excited about the tights tbh than my calendar tbh.

Day 7 H&B is a Tisserand roll-on for sleep. Will try it tonight, although I don’t normally have much trouble sleeping so I may not be the best tester!

Vogue: Silk sleep mask, in a bespoke fabric which matches the drawer for Day 7. It’s a lovely thing, and even better if you use eye masks, which unfortunately I don’t.

Selfridges: A Lisa Eldridge lipstick in “Kitten Mischief”, which is the usually sort of neutral shade. Love her lipsticks, but not sure the colour will work for me. Still another really good day from Selfridges.

Day 7 By Terry is a good drawer for me and I'll definitely try it in the next couple of days. It's an Ombre Blackstar Eyeshadow in Bronze Moon which Terry calls a "3-in-1 eyeliner, illuminator and eyeshadow". Retails at £30.

Loving the tights too.

Day 7 Harrods is Aromatherapy Associates bath and shower oil. I adore the scent of this but don’t like using it in the shower (too slippery) and so very rarely have baths that I still have half a bottle left from a calendar or beauty box from last year.

Any suggestions for other ways to use it gladly welcomed.

Day 7 Soap and Glory is a bath fizzer. DD will like it.

I have the same thing with the AA oil, got one almost full from last year and a small one from earlier this month so watching with interest for other options to use it up.
I'm really like both Next and LF this year, lots of things that I'll use and some new things to try, this morning's vanilla perfume isn't ideal but only because it's not my favourite scent. Also loving the tights and gutted I didn't realise there was a calendar as I wear Snag all the time and would actually use the my little pony ones!!!!

LF today is a little pouch with a set of 4 brushes. It's...ok. Not wow, not awful.

Ciate is called Neon Lovin. Probably not my colour!

I've opened all the Pukka doors. End-to-end fennel and licorice root hideousness. At least I can forget its existence now!

Snag day 7. Good for Halloween or Talk like a pirate day.

Space NK a green clay cleansing balm from Farmacy. The hourglass lipstick from the other day is awful on me, quite a brick coloured red rather than the wine red I thought.
Aromatherapy Associates oils, I sometimes put a bit on wet from shower skin instead of body lotion, or they are nice massage oils.
