Lovers of Parisian style and fashion with a conscious mindset and lots of chatter in between.

Quite the spread there mm, I'm sure your friend will love the necklace and what a nice way to repurpose your FIL's belt. I'd definitely cast your Ddog if I had such powers.

I've been seduced by a Vinted bargain again 🙈 this oversized polo shirt, polo shirts are not usually my thing but I tried on an oversized version recently as a get out of your usual lane effort and it really worked in the oversized format, the prissiness I feared it would bring feels more minimal and crisp somehow. It made for a nice clean look with some high waisted wide leg trousers and since I'm a bit bored with that staple it's a nice riff on it. Hopefully the Vinted one fits similar (the one I tried wasn't great fabric) although I fear since I paid so little for it, it may not be in as good as condition as it looked on the pictures.

Hello micro I only assembled the necklace (I didn’t cut the leather thong, that was my leather woman who made the bag and guitar strap things (which are bound to be beyond the pale now that I have at last invested in the look!) absolutely zero intentions of expanding production beyond the occasional playing with beads but if you would like one, I would be delighted to make you one on the understanding that it will not pass the rigorous micro-yogi testing for quality etc - but it might give you a taste for what is possible. Have a look at the work of the amazing Rebekah Notkin (a lot of it isn’t my taste at all but it is quite special, when you hold it in your hands you really feel it is good stuff).

bo 🤞🏼for your polo shirt, I’m developing a real yearning for pure wool shirts (I have a fitted one (MHL, via eBay) and a not-so fitted one (APC, eBay) and they are really so much warmer than even flannel or brushed cotton although yours is a much chicer look. I hope Vinted delivers the goods for you!

Ooh bo middle top photo, those flower dresses are gorgeous, i presume very haute couture? I also very much like the cream ensemble (jumpsuit / trousers and top), it looks so streamlined and calm in comparison.

Papyrophile · 15/12/2023 11:56

Deliciously floral and so, so pretty. Thank you for going to all this effort bo. It's far more appealing than any physical Advent Calendars!

botemp · 15/12/2023 12:41

Yeah, mm, you'd think haute couture but it was at Marni's show. No idea if they'll go in production and if they do they'll probably resemble couture prices but technically not haute couture.

I love the silver cuff, bottom left. I think I may have had that on Pinterest at one point. The florals are lovely, I really rediscovered (the right) florals last summer.

Ah trousers, my favourite subject. Is the top right pic the Phoebe Philo ones unzipped? And how do the two on the left get that sculptural effect, or is it all done by wind machines?

Yesterday's flower dresses were exquisite. I loved that cuff too quirky. I was trying to work out what it was made of as it almost looks like cellophane. Also I've only just caught up on your trip to A&E (you very kindly name checked me but I'd been reading in a rush and I'd missed it Blush) Glad to hear your daughter's ok.

I went to my last work Christmas do this week - I still got an invite even though it was almost a year since I'd finished which was very nice of them. It was quite a strange feeling. Young people really do have superhuman drinking powers, and that is all I'm going to say. From now on it'll be lunch for retired gentlefolk which is also very enjoyable but not as delightfully raucous.

microbius · 16/12/2023 16:05

The long asymmetrical lines! How beautiful

Flo, did you have to leave through the back door without saying good-bye?

I have a result from the Matches sample sale is this most fabulous Proenza Schouler White Label faux fur coat. I love it, it is funny and glamorous at the same time. It's slightly childish but also blitz. I wouldn't have picked it online, but it is a very nice colour, texture and fit IRL

Blitz? Bling!

Redandblue11 · 16/12/2023 19:43

I love today’s advent board.

missed your post quirky about a&e , glad all good.

yes Flo, humans these days have a huge tolerance for alcohol. Although I think is only the generation below and the one after mine, the really young I think is a mix and some don’t really drink that much (maybe cannot afford it…)

Redandblue11 · 16/12/2023 19:44

I would have been all over that faux fur coat Micro!!

quirkychick · 16/12/2023 19:55

I love those amazing shaped trousers, bo. And the top middle picture, is it leather?

I'm smiling about your Christmas do, flo. I went to dinner with some neighbours (one is an ex-colleague and friend) they are mostly older than me and can out drink me easily! The house we went to is a very large, early Victorian house and the dinner was catered. Very amazing, beautiful food, a soufflé to die for and beautifully cooked fish with a delicious sauce and ribboned vegetables. A lovely treat after a difficult week!

Fantastic bo looks (to me) to be about structure eg bone structure/Christo etc…, What is that fantastic jacket? Structured yet spacious 👏👏👏
ps micro I like your (fake) fur jacket, the colour is so pretty!

Floisme · 18/12/2023 07:17

What's that colour called - putty? bone? chalk? Anyway it's very soothing. I've had a stressful couple of days - nothing serious but I hit the coffee and ended up totally wired and unable to sleep and I think I could do with spending the day in that top, middle room. Agree the jacket looks great.

botemp · 18/12/2023 08:58

Negative space was where my head was at mm, bit less abstract today.

Jacket is by Mark Kenly Domino Tan (Danish, I think)

Negative space, of course! When I used to take life classes I was always more interested in the space between the figure and the anglepoise or whatever than the figure itself maybe because I couldn’t draw very well 🤡.

Today’s offering THOSE GAUNTLETS with the bracelet on top absolutely fantastic (ok there’s only one in the photo but I imagine a pair… oh dear bo my leather fetish strikes again!) And I love the dress with the crupper belt (of course, nice bit of negative space going on in that closure) and what’s the image below it, bottom right?

mm47 · 18/12/2023 10:32

Mark Kenly/Domino Tan’s shop is in my favourite (window) shopping street in Copenhagen, and unfortunately becoming more mainstream brands/chains like Caravane & Aeyde (Emmerys is fine by me - it's where I go for breakfast!). Written like the easyJetsetter I am…

botemp · 18/12/2023 11:35

Ah it's a dress, I don't know if it's a clasp or just an integrated detail, suspect the latter.

In my head the crupper belt is more like a supersized necklace chain closure. Probably a little less fiddly at that size, hopefully...

That dress is so lovely

quirkychick · 18/12/2023 20:34

flo, I could join you in that room! A difficult week last week and then I bumped my head yesterday and spent most of the day feeling weird. (Had a dr appointment for something else, apparently I'm fine). I could benefit from that calm room, though...

That dress, the gauntlets and the belt (?) on the middle right. All gorgeous and amazing shapes.

ShangPie · 18/12/2023 20:47

Love love love yesterday’s negative space images, especially flo and quirky’s room and the tunnel mid-left. Sorry to hear you need the zen den quirky, hope you’re feeling better soon.

Came to share this long article on the history of silk that is well worth a read. It has a wide range and spread, so one to settle in with a warm beverage of choice and enjoy.

Thanks Shangpie, I'll be earmarking that to read later.

Ahem, I do hope quirky and Flo are aware of the lack of clothes in the zen den...
