Husband called my new slippers 'you've let yourself go' slippers.

I brought some new slippers recently - nice sheepskin ones from John Lewis which I thought looked nice.

I wore them yesterday evening after a hot bath. My husband looked at them, laughed, and in a semi-joking way said they should be called 'you've let yourself go' slippers.

Could anyone recommend some comfy slippers that look like they could be shoes, and cover the whole foot (so not ballet pumps)?

They look comfy, mine are Ugg Ansley so not that fashionable either. I always wear sensible slippers though as I had some backless ones and sort of walked out of one, tripped over it and badly sprained my foot, I looked very fashionable having to wear Crocs for about the next month as it was swollen and painful in any other shoes.

There are no sexy sheepskin slippers they’re very warm and comfortable though. How often does he consider how sexy his clothes are?

I have a few pairs of the Ugg Tazz slippers, they're cute with loungewear but definitely not 'sexy slippers' if that's even a thing. I do have some feathery fluffy mules that DH approves of 😉

Yes!!! My hut boots are basically the boot version of these (but in purple) and they’re amazing.

I’ve got these - at least 5 years old now - I practically live in them indoors in winter. The inner soles were getting rather worn and lumpy, but I bought some sheepskin insoles - also Celtic - for £15 and they feel like new again.
They’re also machine washable.
You can wear them out of doors too, but the soles are lighter than for their outdoor boots.

My first reaction was they look like Great Granny Doris slippers but in reality Doris would be wearing much safer sturdy slippers to try and prevent slips and falls.

I live in slippers all winter and tend to stick to Fat Face or Ugg as they're comfy, decent soles for popping out to the bin and reasonably trendy.

Oh, and they’re made in Cornwall.

Those slippers are on trend - not that this should matter. I have some short uggs that I wear as slippers.

I have just returned from a few days in Liverpool where I saw quite a few young wearing slippers/shoes out and about.

They looked fabulous, I was very envious as they looked so comfortable.

Then it started to rain and rain and rain and I was glad I had my flat form boots on.☺️

Haha it doesn't matter what slippers you wear I guess. They're supposed to be comfy.
But yout husband is not wrong. They are that type of ugg, I don't really care what I look like, poor girl look I would say.
