Husband called my new slippers 'you've let yourself go' slippers.

I brought some new slippers recently - nice sheepskin ones from John Lewis which I thought looked nice.

I wore them yesterday evening after a hot bath. My husband looked at them, laughed, and in a semi-joking way said they should be called 'you've let yourself go' slippers.

Could anyone recommend some comfy slippers that look like they could be shoes, and cover the whole foot (so not ballet pumps)?

Slippers aren’t meant to be sexy, but those booties are definitely nursing home footwear. Designed not to fall off when the wearer is being hoisted. I’m with your DH, sorry.

Those slippers are trendy, my late teen dds wear exactly that type, but paired with extremely short shorts and a crop top around the house. It's the rest of your outfit that's letting the side down...

The only unreasonable thing about this post, apart from your DH being a knobhead, is that you paid 59 quid for a pair of slippers 🤣🤣

I was coming on to rave about moshulu slippers too, colourful, comfy, robust soles and warm. Two years of wfh and they don’t need replacing yet.

They are just slippers, I'd buy even more 'letting myself go' items if they make you happy.

My DD comment on a pair of my slipper onces and then never stopped wearing them.. because they were comfy and kept her feet dry when popping out.

My husband is very sarcastic about most things I wear and I couldn't care less. In fact, I just give it right back, to the point the children are rolling around laughing and he can't find a comeback.
