£500 M&S order - want to know what I bought?

I know I’m not the only one who thinks M&S are having a great season so thought I would share my huge order - see the photos in the post below. It’s a mix of work wear and casual wear.

I’ve chosen pieces that will work with my version of a capsule autumn/winter wardrobe and will compliment the following items that I seriously love:

Bottoms
Hush leather culottes
Dorothy Perkins leather pinafore
H&M high waisted black trousers - I sized down for a more fitted look
M&S Black leather leggings
Primark midaxi leather pencil skirt
Primark black slip dress which I will wear as a skirt

Tops
H&M brown/grey sweater

Stitch Fix Editor’s Cut oversized light grey button cardigan (no link)

Shoes
White chunky Fila trainers
Fitflop tan Allegro flats
M&S Chelsea knee high boots

Accessorize black cross body bag

Accessorize layered gold necklaces

Some stuff is sold out or doesn’t have any links because it’s old. Please can you share what’s in your capsule wardrobe to give me some ideas!

I suspect the 'proper' work skirts were a victim of the post-lockdown move to more casual work clothes for so many. I've also had lots of the non-jersey ones over the years, but haven't seen any recently. I'd love a proper lined midi pencil skirt with a bit of a split at the front.

@Carpediem15 i cracked and have ordered the cardigan too! It’s giving Chanel vibes.

I bought it for that reason to wear with their wide legged cord trousers - looks good.

Genuine question, I notice you don't buy any bright colours. Is this because these are work clothes or do you prefer muted tones generally?
Even your Christmas jumper feels very 'safe.'

If OP is pleased with them fine. I think this faux leather look is hideous. And will be so out of date in a few months. I think M&S has some very nice knitwear in. Both at the cheaper end and more expensive.

I get really cross about M&S knitwear. They seem to have lots of cashmere and I don’t think the quality justifies the price. They have lots of cheap viscose and acrylic. Very little mid-price half decent fabric stuff. I’ve got a few of their merino knits from last year which I like, but they seem to bobble quickly.

I’m loving M&S at the moment.

I bought the green velvet suit for a Christmas a lunch party and have been living in the side stripe trousers whilst a working from home.

Thanks for the reminder, I had the long sleeve body wrap on my basket but had forgotten to check l out. I recently bought the black wide leg trousers and love them. I have the delivery pass, well worth it.

I definitely prefer neutral colours for both workwear and casual wear. Even my summer wardrobe is all neutrals. I tend to add colour through accessories, particularly shoes, and lipstick 😂

Well the clothes look very lovely.
I wear brightly coloured scarves if I want a splash of colour in winter.
