I thought I'd do a Xmas edition of the styling threads I've done before for anyone who is interested 🎄👠

Thank you OP for the jumpsuit options, I love them all! I actually ended up ordering a lipsy one but debating whether to keep it as not 100% sold on it, I might try the RI one and agree that gold sandals and jewellery would look great with it!

frillseeking · 30/10/2023 17:06

@Littleguggi sometimes their styling can be a little off but they use really good fabrics and the quality/cut is always very good so often I find when you take it away from the shop and add your own styling, their pieces can look really great 👍🏻

Hi OP, what a wonderful idea for a thread! I have totally lost my way with casual clothes- live in uniform and sports kit. I'm 40, 5'6" and a large size 12- brunette, curvy hourglass. I'm desperate for jeans and footwear ideas for winter. I have been looking at DM leonore and Alyson boots, but just haven't a clue how to style them anymore 😞

frillseeking · 30/10/2023 19:18

@Happyface120 they look good with a slightly cropped jean so you can see the rise of the boot and a straight leg to balance out the chunkiness of the boot. I've attached some ideas for inspo

Ah, they look great, thank you! What shape jean is that? Straight leg cropped?

WeDidntHaveWaterBottlesInThe80s · 30/10/2023 23:27

Hi, I would love recommendations for tips/jumpers to wear with a black satin maxi skirt for Xmas parties etc - size 6-8, flat-chested. Ideally to go with these boots esskashoes.com/products/ross-red

PowerTulle · 30/10/2023 23:31

This is amazing, loving all the ideas OP!

I have bought a pair of shorter style, black cowboy boots. Just over ankle length. Was very excited but I’m now struggling to find a way to wear them out with a dressier look. I’m not a floaty boho type, prefer a bit of structure or edge. Trousers, skirt or a dress?

frillseeking · 31/10/2023 09:53

@Happyface120 yes straight leg crop. A slight kick flare would work as well. Some more outfits I've pinned below. It's a really simple combo and you can pair back with other items in your wardrobe but once you've nailed the basics, it just elevates your every day look and should give you the confidence to venture out of gym gear 😀

@WeDidntHaveWaterBottlesInThe80s for a simple but statement look, I'd go for something like this red &other stories knit to really compliment the boots ( so funky by the way!) I also like this simple metallic knit from Mango and the idea of a stripe knit

@WeDidntHaveWaterBottlesInThe80s what I LOVE is this stripe knit from VB. Me and Em did a more affordable high street version but it's sold out. I can't find anything similar at the moment but I think this would look amazing with the skirt and boots

@WeDidntHaveWaterBottlesInThe80s another idea if youre confident to show off arms for a more evening look is a sleeveless top like this Zara one and the high neck suits a smaller bust. Clean and simple lines and then the wow factor of the boots 👌🏻

@PowerTulle great question. My friend said the exact same thing the other day. She's jumped on the trend and got the boots but now can't find the outfit to wear them with f. I'll have a look and come back to you

@frillseeking I love that stripy jumper! Might need to sell a kidney but worth it 😉. Fine with sleeveless, I lift heavy weights! Thank you so much for the suggestions.

frillseeking · 31/10/2023 14:23

@WeDidntHaveWaterBottlesInThe80s it would amazing with the boots! Maybe worth having a look on Vinted or somewhere like that, worth a shot!

Cowboy boot styling inspo

This is exactly what I’m looking for! Thank you @frillseeking

Im liking these skirt options, and they would go with tops I already have too.

mrsroni · 01/11/2023 09:38

Such a great thread! I love a good dupe, what are the best ones you've seen this season?

frillseeking · 01/11/2023 15:30

@mrsroni my favourite has to be the Mango Toteme dupe. They did it last year and have brought it back for 2023 as it was a sell out 🙌🏻 (mint velvet also do a good one)

Any ideas for a work Christmas party at indoor crazy golf? 5ft 10, size 9 feet, now a size 12 (menopause has hit) pear shaped with thick thighs, long body and arms, not any noticeable hips. Love colours.

juicy0 · 01/11/2023 18:41

Last year you suggested a beautiful knitted self portrait dress on here and I've been kicking myself for not buying it ever since. I've been looking for one on the resale sites but not luck so far sadly.
This year I have three Christmas parties to go to, two for work and the other a Bugsy Malone themed evening drinks. I don't want to dive deep in to the theme, just a nod to it is fine, am I crazy to hope that I could find one dress to wear to all three. Happy to pay a bit more for the £ per wear theory. I'm size 10, 5'5" and 46.
Thanks so much for coming back!!

frillseeking · 01/11/2023 19:05

@juicy0 was it the bow style one?? I'm hoping so as I've seen lots of high st versions this year!

@juicy0 if it's the one I'm thinking of, this is a really good version mintvelvet.com/products/black-bow-front-midi-dress
