Thank you @dudsville I shall have a think about what to do, I’m not sure I’m brave enough to get busy with my dress making scissors.

BrontëParsonage · 17/11/2023 08:27

@Stoic123 @AmethystMoonShine @faustina seems like there’s no randomness in the awarding of the Christmas ‘draw’ prizes again (just saying).

Countmeout · 17/11/2023 08:39

Gosh the reworn went quickly.

@BrontëParsonage I’m not adverse to the odd bit of preworn but sometimes it’s a lottery re fit never mind anything else. At least I understand you can return the item to Toast ( hopefully for a refund, hope they don’t think it’s a re donation 😬 - that thought has just recurred to me) I thought that blouse was lovely, I hadn’t seen it before

Did anyone watch the Reworn Live? I see someone asked about donations and if there was a discount or voucher for donations. I wasn’t impressed by their answer, I can’t see how it would hurt to give some small incentive. Having said that I’m grateful that people do donate. The dress I have purchased is one was intending on trying if it is reduced in sale and the price was very attractive- less than 1/3 of the price.

@dudsville I will try to get a few photos over the next week. Like @OftenOrange says it’s very difficult not to wear it,I always change into jersey/ T-shirts when I come in and it’s so easy to pull on over those for an extra layer. As you know I’m fond of a tank anyhow but this one is especially wearable.

I was scared to do it @Theteapotsbrokenspout , but I'd had the dress for over a year by that point and kne it wasn't going to get wear. If i3 sold stuff then it is something I'd have moved on, but I'm glad I didn't, I like the denim and the resulting dress v much. Hope you find a way to wear yours. Another idea that i had considered was removing the belt and adding with a a side tie or a big button. That would also work and is less of a scary move.

AmethystMoonShine · 17/11/2023 08:42

Oh that’s strange I wonder why you’d write to them if they’re also publishing them? 🤔

dudsville · 17/11/2023 08:52

What are you saying@BrontëParsonage, i haven't googled, are they all influencers again? I thought it was no coincidence that the one of us who won happened to have started the thread. It makes sense to me that they want their stuff showcased as much as possible. I play in that I select my items, but I have no real social footprint.

Yesterday I was in what I call my Charlie Brown outfit. While it looks nothing like his outfit, the combo feels very reminiscent of it and very late 60s to me! Sorry for the blurry pics.

@dudsville - love the Charlie Brown outfit.

Yes, I have insufficient media presence to be randomly selected too.

faustina · 17/11/2023 09:54

Maybe the SAE writing thing is part of the competition rules which were set up years ago?
The person from here who won last year was one of the people who complained about the fact that it was only people who sounded like artisanal mushroom producers who were winning - then she won and we were all delighted for her as she'd never won anything before! I don't think it's fixed in any way - and you would not have known who she was in real life from her username anyway - neither would Toast?

Stoic123 · 17/11/2023 10:12

@faustina - I was delighted with the winner being on the thread and loved the photos.

I imagine that it is technically feasible for someone working at Toast to identify anyone posting regularly on here from their purchase hostory and/or draw selection combinations which were all shared. Whether the marketing depatment could do this (data privacy) or would even want do this is, of course, a different matter.

Snowyowl78 · 17/11/2023 10:20

I love the surname Goodpasture!

I think @BrontëParsonage actually viscose is a good bet with reworn because I think it will still look brand new?

im wearing this today and I loooove it. Having to sell off many things to justify the enormous price, and still fumed about the lack of 20% off though!

PretLea · 17/11/2023 11:11

@Snowyowl78 that knit looks so good and incredibly warm! On my wish list, but will have to wait for sale price.

PretLea · 17/11/2023 11:19

I wanted to add to that message, but it seems I can’t edit them anymore….

I’ve seen a few outfits styled with the cashmere bell hat on IG, and thought it looked quite nice. I’m not a big hat person, but I’ve given up on the Toast donegal hats, so thinking it might be a style to try. Might be nice to know if anyone on here has one.

clowniform · 17/11/2023 11:36

Re the prize draws I'm inured to not winning after year of being a Minor Maker Who Doesn't Post Her Face or Reels of Herself Dancing in a Self-Sewn Bikini on IG😀Though I have a somewhat common name so even if Toast posts mine it will probably turn out to be a namesake who's won. This time I've gone for nesty things: wreath, garland, blanket.

@dudsville LOVE the outfit and your clever alteration, brava!

@Snowyowl78 I remember you buying that, and still think it's awesome and will earn its keep over many years.

**@Noodle421 thank you for the moth reminder/cautionary tale. I’ve been lazy about this which is deeply silly considering how much yarn I have in addition to the knitwear. Top of the list this weekend now! My COS strategy is, as you may have guessed, wandering around their shops far too often with a 'buy now, dither at home' policy 😅

Trinitybean · 17/11/2023 11:56

I've ordered the dark grey tweed coat from reworn in a momentary lapse of reason/hoping it's the same as the purple one but in much better condition.

@Stoic123 I don’t disagree re: sharing in the delight of Laska’s win last Christmas (I’ve been here since the beginning of the threads but I have name changed due to having been identified in real life). BUT it does seem a very big coincidence that all/the majority of winners do seem to have high profiles in their own ways. Plus, there are strict laws/rules governing the management of prize draws/raffles etc, so I personally think that Toast are sailing very close to the wind if the draws are not totally random and that winners are being pre-selected.

Anyway, Toast marketing people (👋) please feel free to identify me on the basis that I bought two Reworn garments yesterday (Wave dress and Silk Dupion shirt) and make me a winner! 🙏🏻

MiracleToast · 17/11/2023 12:55

I just had a wonderful Toast experience. My replacement cords arrived after tracking them down in the Richmond store and received beautifully wrapped with a handwritten post card! All my orders usually arrive from warehouse with barely a sheet of tissue and my gosh this made a difference.

Have chosen the yoke jumper, the lug boots to gift to my mum and the log carrier to replace the gruesome white coal bags i usually cart things around in.

No 20% off here either but I’m holding out for one of us to win the wish list ♥️

I am a bit sad that you thought that @dudsville .. It was me that won and I can assure you that no one was more surprised than I was !
I am just an ordinary Toast lover (retired and ex local govt ) and in no way associated in any fashion influencing or business ..
It Is True though that a couple of weeks before I won I did post saying that no one with an ordinary name ever seemed to win .. I think I said they never have any Debbie Jones ' names ?! My name is very much in the ' Debbie Jones' .mould !!

Laska2Meryls · 17/11/2023 15:37

And my Mumsnet name isnt used on .my Toast account ...they couldn't have known ..

Really.. no way they could have identified me
I use a different email address than the one I have on MN , my own name .. Don't even have a Facebook page .. well I did for a while but thats only under the name of Laska not my real name ans was used just to chat to people here . I cant even get into it now which I why I am not on Toast Facebook buying and selling group....

Actually.. why am I justifying myself.. ? I don know,.. it was random, just luck , and I really hope one of you wins also..

Laska2Meryls · 17/11/2023 15:55

No 20% here either..

Laska2Meryls · 17/11/2023 16:12

Believe me @clowniform .. if I danced in a self sewn bikini anywhere .. theres no way it could be counted in any way as influencing ...

Laska2Meryls · 17/11/2023 16:14

Anyway enough, believe me or not.. up to you.. im done.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/11/2023 16:49

Ive not read back just the last few posts and I am 😯at the response to @Laska2Meryls Ive known her her personally for years and since she was on the Hush thread and is a friend of mine and she has NOTHING whatsover to do with Toast. Who knows the reason that they chose her but it was nothing to do with her. I absolutely vouch for that.
