I think that pinafore is lovely @Theteapotsbrokenspout .

Really annoying about the 20%. I remember getting a discount on new collections, think the last I remember was 15% which would be better than nothing.

Sorry to hear about the moths your friend has @Noodle421 . It’s really scary.

Despite the lack of discount I bought the ruinously expensive tank/waistcoat as I knew it was just right. I thought of risking waiting for a sale but that might be summer for that one. It’s really warm and has been worn a lot already, my only small gripe is the lack of at least 1 pocket.

I saw they had added lots of things @Snowyowl78 . I’m trying the dress in the same material as the (Nikki) skirt. I think it may be too oversized. Look forward to hearing how your tunics work out.

What has everyone picked for their wish list this week, I’ve chosen the Donegal jumper , the blanket and the wreath making kit.

@Countmeout i too bought that waist coat and it came today! I would like a pocket but I guess might bulk it out a bit. I went for a large

Snowyowl78 · 16/11/2023 18:34

@Countmeout what have you been wearing it with?

Countmeout · 16/11/2023 18:48

Yes I thought that about the pocket too @Snowyowl78 but I love a pocket. I have worn it over a shirt with Gabis, over a dress, over long sleeve t shirts just with jersey bottoms about the house, I like the way your arms are free but it’s really quite warm. I even tried it layered with a cardigan (Seasalt Terntide which has no pockets either grrr) over it with trousers which worked quite well. I bought medium and had doubts as reviews said it was small but it was fine. Someone else said they had one, not sure how they wear it, might be @clowniform or @PretLea but I could be wrong.

@Countmeout it was @OftenOrange that has the tank - I was just asking on here about it. It’s still on my wish list, along with a lot else!

I chose the Donegal jumper, Blundstone lug boots and hanging glass bits. We are moving house next week (hence most things being stuck on my wish list and not hanging in my wardrobe), and would love some of the festive house items to make it cosy.

faustina · 16/11/2023 19:22

Good luck with the house move @PretLea . I chose the donegal jumper, the men's scarf and the other jumper (can't remember what it was called)

Thank you @Saurus72 - lots of new things, none of which I wanted, but it was nice to look!

PretLea · 16/11/2023 19:40

Thanks so much @faustina - this move has coincided with so many other events it’s all been rather overwhelming. I did a separate entry for my DH and included that men’s scarf for him - I do wonder if he even gets entered though, because he doesn’t actually have an account. Was it the navy stitch yoke jumper, so so beautiful…

Countmeout · 16/11/2023 19:48

Yes all the best @PretLea , it’s very stressful moving.

@Theteapotsbrokenspout , i have that denim wrap. It's the one I altered as it was too heavy, double layered denim was just too much and i also found the belt hard to make sit right. I cut off the top fold over bit of fabric, sewed up the side and turned it into a pinafore and love it now.

@snowy and @Countmeout , I'd love to see how you're wearing that tank. I have my eye on it.

I chose the donegal, boots and the men's scarf, and i had a look at reworn but I think i want to keep my shopping to toast sales of new (by that I mean unworn, I love new archive!).

faustina · 16/11/2023 19:57

@PretLea - yes, that was the jumper!

I once moved house about ten days before Christmas when my sons were both under 10. Not a good decision. Hope yours is trouble free and a bit more painless that that!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 16/11/2023 20:07

@dudsville that was a clever idea, it is such a heavy piece, and you obviously had the same problem with the belt that I’m having. Did you size down in it initially? Mine is a 12 and I think a bit too big which isn’t helping.

PretLea · 16/11/2023 20:25

Very kind, thank you @faustina and @Countmeout x

I did manage to get The Coat after all the uhming and ahing. It’s an excessive spend for me (also why I haven’t managed anything else), but I didn’t have a wool coat at all. And I do think it is lovely.

BrontëParsonage · 16/11/2023 20:36

Has anyone here succumbed and bought anything from the Reworn project? I am very picky indeed about things so I don’t do eBay or Vinted as I think my expectations of what is considered ‘as new’ can perhaps be unrealistic. I was delighted to see one that got away in the shape of the Waves print black and white viscose dress (I am that rare breed of Toast owner who loves viscose as there is no ironing involved). I’d just be interested to hear of others’ experiences.

mizu · 16/11/2023 21:35

@BrontëParsonage I have not but it seems to be very popular. Had a look earlier then again a bit later and half of it was gone already!

I think a couple of people on here have said that they bought and the items were in excellent condition.

@mizu thanks so much for your reply. So, I ordered the viscose Wave print dress AND a silk dupion ruffle shirt that I hope will look okay under my velvet pinafore dress. I’m reassured that I will be able to return the garments to Toast with the minimum of fuss if I’m not happy with the quality or standard.

Stoic123 · 16/11/2023 22:45

I've chosen my week 3 items.

This is also when Toast starts publishing the prize draw winners' names .......are they photogenic people who work in the arts (with a strong social media presence)?

OftenOrange · 16/11/2023 23:20

@Countmeout @Snowyowl78 @dudsville It was I who raved about the deep navy alpaca tank , and I did say I’d post photos of how I like to wear it …sorry I haven’t done that .
I find photos difficult but will try to do something at the Weekend.
The main problem for me has been forcing myself not to wear it all the time!

OftenOrange · 16/11/2023 23:34

I greedily chose three jumpers , that will no doubt be a NO !

Dee1224 · 16/11/2023 23:51

I have just entered the competition, but I find it really bizarre that they have published the winners’ names. (I wouldn’t be happy about that myself - in the vanishingly unlikely event that I actually won 🤣).

Snowyowl78 · 17/11/2023 02:59

@Countmeout thanks for the ideas! I might debut it this weekend!

Snowyowl78 · 17/11/2023 03:00

@BrontëParsonage i bought a velvet dress from reworn and it’s perfect! I do need to shorten it though, as ever!

dudsville · 17/11/2023 06:01

I didn't size down in it, and it was bulky, but it is more fitted and streamlined now without that panel @Theteapotsbrokenspout.

That's such a pretty dress@BrontëParsonage. I tried it when it came out and hated that i couldn't wear it, you're lucky you like viscose. I would totally try it "reworn".

@OftenOrange your comment is quite a recommendation for that tank! If it makes it to a sale I'll try it.

AmethystMoonShine · 17/11/2023 06:44

@Stoic123 I’ve just seen that Toast are saying for the winners names we need to write with a SAE to ask! I felt like I’d gone back to 1987 reading that.

I went for the blue hat, the lofty sweater and the blundstones this time. So tempted by the Donegal but so not my colour. I love the intense consideration I give these draw entries, as if I might win Grin

faustina · 17/11/2023 06:53

I wonder if they've not published the names online because people googled them last year? In which case (and as someone with an unusual name) I can see their point

mizu · 17/11/2023 07:21

@OftenOrange 😁

I chose two jumpers and the lugg boots. I have quite a cool real name in real life and it would be nice to see it as winner number 3!
