Can I wear this as MOB?

Im quite a young mother of the bride - early 40’s and everything I look at seems very matronly.
I ordered this and it looks great on - I’d pair with a big pink hat and maybe a pink shawl/pashmina? May wedding so weather could go either way.
Im 6 foot tall and a size 14 if that helps.

Can I wear this as MOB?

It is suitable if you like it but I don't think the top bit matches the bottom bit, looks odd.

It seems perfectly wedding appropriate to me. You say you love how it looks on so go for it
Be careful with the pink accessories - It might be hard to match them/get two complimentary pinks.

Am I looking at a different image to everyone else? I think it’s lovely. I’d not wear it with pink to nor fair, but it’s really nice.

I think accesssories are difficult to be fair, do you need to wear a hat? Is it that sort of wedding?

pale grey, navy, blush pink may work, bright pink I think moves into tacky for me, but I love the dress.

It is a big stately house wedding and I’ve always wanted to wear a big hat! I’ll try it out with grey.
Knowing me I’ll have another 5 dresses before the big day anyway!

You could try pinks but it would need to be the pinks that are in the print on the dress already. Or navy blue might work - like a darker shade of the dress’s main colour. Or you could try metallics. I’d take it with you to try stuff on so you can be sure the colours and shapes will go.

The only things that matter is that you like it and your daughter likes it. At 6ft tall, I expect you'd look great in this and I think the big pink hat and pashmina sounds perfect. I can't tell if the other colour is grey or blue but you could match the pashmina to that if you didn't want a pink one and try to match that grey/blue to a bag and shoes.

I actually think a pink hat or pink earrings could look amazing with it. But then I can’t quite picture a bolero/pashmina on top of that.

I think it's really nice and fine for a MOB outfit. As long as you like it and feel great in it, that's what matters. There will always be people on these threads who have to go OTT with their opinions.

I was listening to Yasmin Le Bon on the Amanda Wakeley Podcast, Style DNA, and she spoke about being MOTB, she said you just want to be you and wear a better version of what you would normally choose - I think that's really good advice.

@Rina66 I completely agree with that. It is very me and I’m happy to wear it without any shawl but I want to be warm for photos!! Maybe a blazer would work for outside.
I can afford more than Karen Millen but im
loathe to spend up to a grand on an outfit when I don’t need to. All the MOB pages on insta seem focussed on venti infantina. There are some lovely ones and I’m keeping an eye out on Vinted.

No, you don't need to spend a grand on an outfit but there's a big difference between £60 and a grand. You're the MOB and 6ft you could wear something nicer.

Have a look at RIXO - this is the MOB section but non-MOB is also fab! I'd love to wear their dresses but at 5'2" I'm doomed!

Could you wear a faux fur something in maybe the darkest hue of the flowers? Fur always looks glamorous or maybe velvet? I'd need to see it all together though as it might be too much xxxx
