I have had some very old things pop up on my wishlist. Two are showing as in stock and I would love them! Should I try? Probably not, as I accidentally ordered the gingham dress and the humbug seamless jumper this morning.

TosstTastic · 28/09/2023 14:23

Mothballed knits - just pulled out my knitted wrist warmers to find the moths have got at them. they've survived at least five previous years, so a bit gutted.

anyone know if these would be accepted by Toast repair? they are certainly knitwear but also accessory.....

the freezer now has some interesting extra packages in.

Snowyowl78 · 28/09/2023 14:25

@ScottishMouse worth calling customer services- I managed to nab a pair of the bottle green trousers this morning which were showing in my wish list! They may be too big but we’ll see!

Countmeout · 28/09/2023 14:55

@TosstTastic I was told last year they will repair a cashmere scarf - the big wrap ones. But they don’t do other accessories. However if I were you I would ask, maybe it depends on the shop.

OftenOrange · 28/09/2023 16:44

@TosstTastic I had the old shoulder poncho repaired ( moth) they did insist that it had undergone freezer quarantine for at least 2 days .
I asked for a visible repair in cobalt , it’s very neat but tbh I was hoping for something more arty / Japanese which is my own method for mothy gloves & accessories.

Hi all, not Toast but I did go into Uniqlo today to try some of their new collaboration, so thanks to whoever mentioned it! I bought one of the pleated viscose blue patterned skirts - I really hope it keeps its shape after washing. Does anyone know if pleated viscose skirts keep their shape? (I don’t iron!)

TosstTastic · 28/09/2023 20:13

thankyou '@Countmeout and @OftenOrange encouraged to ask but won't bank on it.
@OftenOrange I tried on the 'new' toast shoulder poncho in store a couple of weeks ago, i was quite taken with it, i live in a big, cold house. bit discouraged by other reviews up thread. clearly worth you getting it repaired....

@dee1224 just don't mistakenly tumble dry it - my cos pleats became a disappointing, not quite right circle.

Dee1224 · 28/09/2023 20:49

Thanks @TosstTastic

clowniform · 28/09/2023 20:55

Enjoy coming home to a fixed site and new knitwear! Love this although I usually struggle with alpaca.

This wrap cardigan would also be useful. Anyone here know if Toast have made this style before and are likely to do more colours?

I’ve found a ‘short Lydia’ dress on eBay, I did not know such a thing existed?! Anyone got one (or has the ebayer cut the dress?!)?

BettinaInDenmark · 29/09/2023 06:30

lordloveadog · 27/09/2023 10:21

Thanks @OftenOrange ! I'll have a look at both those. I have catastrophically wide feet so am always on a shoe hunt.

Both Blundstone and DM boots in the "unisex" versions are broader than the women's ones.

mizu · 29/09/2023 07:05

@Snowyowl78 yes I had the shorter version for years. Wore a lot in hot weather. They are real. Very flattering. Bought at a car boot for a fiver!!! Then sold it as I got bigger Grin

lordloveadog · 29/09/2023 07:08

Thanks @BettinaInDenmark that's useful to know. I've been thinking about Blundstones.

Haven't seen much that interests me in the new drop. The wrap cardigan is nice but would be too short.

I had one. Actually I had two. One in red and a grey one. Definitely not been cut.

Countmeout · 29/09/2023 09:18

@clowniform I have a burgundy wrap cardigan from maybe 4 years ago, mine was from sale, I think it came in a teal colour as well. This years is not a great brown, I would prefer it more like the jumper I have which is a rich brown.

Countmeout · 29/09/2023 09:35

Anyhoo I have had a pre payday spurge and bought the Toast Mary Janes. I struggle with footwear in winter other than boots and trainers so hoping these may fill a gap. I also bought the M and S boots linked , on the first page, as I had 20% off shoes on Sparks too. And a Seasalt cardigan as I liked the colour. Out of stock while the money off offer was on and inevitably came back after. Seasalt and I do not generally get on so it’ll be interesting to see the fit. And something on Vinted which I am having anxiety about as something about it feels odd. Crossing everything it arrives and is as described.

@Snowyowl78 - there was a random short Lydia in the SM outlet a while back - sadly too small for me!

Snowyowl78 · 29/09/2023 10:18

@mizu @neveradullmoment99 @Dee1224 oh that’s good thanks! I will keep my eye on it

I bought Lydia midi dress in Cadmium loooong ago (2016); as far a I recall, it is actually very short. Hmm, never worn it yet.
I think I also got it in maxi, which is very long.

A few years ago I bought a brushed mohair coat from Toast (picture). I have loved using it in the winters.
At the same time there was a blanket in the same fabric. I got two, one for the sofa and one for making into a skirt.
I still haven't made the skirt. Does it seem like a silly idea to do?

I think it’s a great idea. I’ve got quite a few wool skirts from Hobbs that are made from Abraham Moon fabric.

Stravaig · 29/09/2023 11:57

@BettinaInDenmark Why silly? The mohair checked skirt is a staple in winter collections here eg. Brora has several.

Caveat, I'm a Highlander, we're notorious for wearing blankets as skirts 😉

Stravaig · 29/09/2023 12:08

@Countmeout I had the same reaction to that brown, previous shades have had a glorious warmth and depth. I'm lured the the neat wrap though, and it is pure wool/cashmere. Fingers crossed for more colours @clowniform .

Lol the other tartan skirts I have just did not start out as blankets :)

I am more worried that the fact that the mohair is brushed would make it look really awful in a short time
