@PretLea
I will post again when I've received the 10s regarding the length.
What size/ height are you?

Dee1224 · 13/10/2023 16:38

@clowniform - thanks for the link to Sou Sou. Do you find that a lot of import taxes/customs charges are added?

I love Japanese clothing, etc. However, I wouldn’t dare order clothes online due to the strong likelihood that they would be far far too small. I would order bags, scarves, homeware, though.

I would like to order something, though as I am very fed up with not being able to go abroad atm, especially as my DS is off to Japan/Korea (again) next week!

dudsville · 13/10/2023 16:42

Thanks@clowniform , I'll check that out!

I've got my hands over my ears so that i can't hear the cord chat!

Dee1224 · 13/10/2023 17:12

Sou-sou have a shop in Tokyo, but I think the likelihood of DS agreeing to go in for me is extremely low. In April he got as far as going into a shop in Seoul to get me a lipstick but bolted as he would have had to ask for it as they were all under the counter 🙃. I did get some cat socks, though!

PretLea · 13/10/2023 17:25

Thanks @Alpacasoft I’m usually size 6 in trousers, and 5’ 4”.

Snowyowl78 · 13/10/2023 17:59

I’m interested in those new cords- there is some pics on instagram from Toast Cheltenham

It might be worth going on to chat and asking for the measurements and leg length .
The size 12 fit like a 14( real life not toast life) and were touching the floor on me and I'm tall
I did buy some Seasalt cord crops last year.
Similar style but mid length on me and they came up true to size.

PretLea · 13/10/2023 18:55

@Alpacasoft I think they’re going to be too long for me. Usually I don’t manage anything longer than a crop leg at Toast, and that usually skims my ankle or full length.

I’ll have a look at the Sea Salt ones, thanks.

Seasalt do petite online, also long
They mostly stock regular in store.

I really rate them as they change the body length not just the leg length

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 13/10/2023 19:33

@Snowyowl78 I really like those cords with the gingham top on that instagram, looks so much better than on the toast product page.

Snowyowl78 · 13/10/2023 19:50

@Theteapotsbrokenspout i have the gingham top! Is nice. Incredibly expensive

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 13/10/2023 20:24

You definitely need to buy the cords then @Snowyowl78 they look great together.

The gingham top is on my wish list as well, although I’m a bit confused about the sizing as I think on the video Kat said she bought an XL but the reviews suggest it is oversized.

Snowyowl78 · 13/10/2023 20:28

@Theteapotsbrokenspout yes! I read the reviews the other day and was most perplexed. I tried the medium and it was too fitted and I settled on the large. I would normally buy a medium/12 sometimes 10 in toast so this was an anomaly. I’m surprised at the reviews

Alpacasoft · 13/10/2023 21:31

Those cords look way better on a "real" person than on the models.
Isn't that the wrong way round?

Really tempted by the cream ones for round the house mooching.
I love how they styled the gingham top with no tie or is it at the back?

Snowyowl78 · 14/10/2023 10:24

@Alpacasoft you can tie that top at the back or front

Countmeout · 14/10/2023 11:02

Agree they look great there. Definitely worth a try.

dudsville · 14/10/2023 11:06

Anyone seen the new cord birkenstocks? I think they look awful, but I'm sure will look cool on someone and they may be really comfortable!

I'm continuing my clearout of kitchen/dining table things that I don't like and searching for the new things. I haven't gone for any of the naice options but thank you all for the ideas, it helped me think about what I like, and it's not tasteful neutrals, but bold things, and of course a bit mid century. Heading off to the charity shop in a bit with a bag of things.

OftenOrange · 14/10/2023 14:40

Just been to local Toast and was identified as Kindred on account of my socks!

I may have just bought it 😂

I am in London for the weekend so decided to pop into a toast shop to look at the organic cord pull on trousers and decided to try it on a whim.
It's far nicer than the toast pictures show, so beautifully designed.
I found a medium fitted me well at a 32 bust so I think it comes up very neat.
I also tried the Panelled organic indigo jeans.
A size 10 were fine on the hips/ bum but far too gapey on the waist.
They are really nice though and I think a good choice for anyone who finds the Annies too tight on the waist.
The pull on cord trousers have a hugely dropped crotch.
I've posted a pic of the cream ones and the black ones in store but the crotch was down to my knees so half the length of the trousers, no not for me at all.
I must have missed this as its not obvious on the first pictures on the website.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 14/10/2023 17:20

@Alpacasoft That is an impressively dropped crotch on those cords, although I’m still tempted. Did the black ones in store have the white draw cord? I think it would look so much better black.

😳I have zero recollection of what colour the cord was.
I was so busy muttering about my crotch being around my knees!
It really is very low slung.

I keep wondering if I've mixed them up with something else as they looked so different.
It wouldn't be the first time!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 14/10/2023 18:42

Oh dear @Alpacasoft sounds like the very low slung crotch has really traumatised you 😂.

😂
Or it could be that I tried the cream ones and only took that photo of the black/ slate ones so I didn't see the cord Blush

dudsville · 14/10/2023 20:10

The very low slung trousers😂 would bug me so much!

Super cool that you were identified by your socks @OftenOrange, much as i enjoy them, it never occurred to me that they'd have got in socks just to give away, I assumed it was a line that didn't sell!

mizu · 14/10/2023 21:36

Anyone got the Kate Sheridan Scout bag? This one? I am so tempted - don't need but adore.
