@dudsville , I bought those socks at full price a couple of winters ago!

Aha, that makes more sense @ToastCosILoveIt !

Now, one thing I don't need is more pyjamas, so I'm obviously considering buying more pyjamas. I have the red/brown check version of a few sales back and have been eyeing up the blue check version in the current stock since they came out. Does anyone have both? I'm wondering about the new sizing.

Dee1224 · 15/10/2023 14:03

I am wearing my Toast mustard coloured sparkly socks for the first time today, with my crinkly Uniqlo C skirt, (thanks, whoever it was recommended that collection).

The skirt looks ok with my black round collar tee and an ancient cotton cardie I found lurking at the back of the cupboard this morning.

It’s my first time ever wearing Toast socks, (haven’t dug out the Kindred ones yet), and they are so comfortable!

faustina · 15/10/2023 16:29

@Dee1224 - mustard coloured sparkly socks you say? Could you link please? I can't see any sparkly ones and I think I'd quite like some!

It's suddenly ten degrees here and though sunny it's freezing and I seem to have completely forgotten how to dress for it. Went out in my dark pear corduroy gabis with a big navy blue donegal jumper on top (not the Toast one, the Donegal Knitwear one). I made the mistake of clogs with no socks though..

Countmeout · 15/10/2023 16:41

I’m still in summer mode for a few more days. Currently in an H and M. Kaftan but planning on putting on the Ogee culottes and a Boden sleeveless T when I get showered.
I'm trying to convince myself I’m looking forward to getting into my winter clothes when I get home.

Dee1224 · 15/10/2023 16:53

@faustina they were an eBay purchase - stock from ages ago.

The seller had a few - I will see if I can find the link.

They are a cotton/nylon mix, (if memory serves), but very comfy.

The sparkle hasn’t shown up properly, unfortunately.

I’m the same although we still have nearly three weeks to go. I’m wearing the blue pinstripe linen shorts today. We’ve both been slightly delicate today though, haven’t moved out of the shade on the balcony. I’m not sure if we slightly overdid walking in the heat yesterday or not but I’ve had a thumping headache and DH keeps getting cramp and we’ve both been feeling a little sorry for ourselves. Not ill but happy to stay near our own facilities and eat toast and not much else. Excited though as DD is coming tomorrow for half term so we’re off to he airport in the morning to collect her.

Dee1224 · 15/10/2023 16:57

I have pm’d you @faustina . He had a few pairs, but seems to be down to the last one.

neveradullmoment99 · 15/10/2023 17:03

Well I was in my gorgeous Toast fairisle jumper that I bought last year! Still had the tag on. Beautifully cosy. It's dry and sunny and cold. A proper Autumnal day. I loved wearing it so much.

faustina · 15/10/2023 17:09

Thank you very much @Dee1224 - I've ordered them!

neveradullmoment99 · 15/10/2023 17:11

Did someone say when the next drop is?

Dee1224 · 15/10/2023 17:13

Yeay, @faustina - bargain sparkly sock buddies!

Dee1224 · 15/10/2023 17:15

Sounds lovely @neveradullmoment99. Sunny here but I haven’t had the energy to go out🙃

clowniform · 15/10/2023 18:53

It was the loveliest sunny crisply cold autumn day today! I wore wool/cotton houndstooth Gabis with a (self-knit) Donegal cashmere jumper (Cline by Julie Hoover, a very Toast-ish shape IMO), ribbed socks and brogues. No mushrooms foraged but did come back from the farmers market with cobnuts in a fit of enthusiasm. No idea WTF to do with them now....

@Alpacasoft thanks for the intrepid cord investigations. Toast description of the cord Annies as 'long crop' may be their least helpful ever and they look as short as the usual denim ones on the models (who are supposedly only 1cm taller than me, but I suspect have much longer legs)
I'm a fan of a dropped crotch but those drawstring ones may be a circus too far 😁

I actually think Toast clothes almost always do look better on 'real' people (including their shop staff, bloggers etc.) than their studio models, especially as the models are inevitably taller than the Toast block so the item descriptions don't match.

@Dee1224 😝at your son! Though to be fair Korean cosmetics shops are intense. Re ordering from abroad, customs kicks in over £135 but bear in mind they will factor in the actual shipping costs, even if the shop had a free shipping offer. Ask me how I know....

@Laska2Meryls will you be in Porto for the chocolate festival next week? Envy intensifies

@ilovecherries hope you feel better soon and enjoy your DD's visit

Dee1224 · 15/10/2023 18:55

Thanks @clowniform. I may well do an order! I have sent DS the Google maps link of the Tokyo shop in case he feels like being kind, (unlikely 🤣)

faustina · 15/10/2023 20:26

@clowniform - that jumper is beautiful - especially the neckline. I have followed Julie Hoover on Instagram - thank you so much for sharing. I'd never heard of her before. Could you also share the wool you used?

NoCureForLove · 15/10/2023 20:56

So diving in with a question... If I order some ridiculously expensive socks from Jones Arnhem I shouldnt have to pay terrifying taxes / duties if under £150? Thanks in advance. Smile

Stoic123 · 15/10/2023 21:03

Hello fellow Toasties. Not much to report. Just done a declutter as part of a bedroom redecoration so my mind is more on selling than buying at the moment. Will see some of you over on the FB selling site over the next few weeks.

Last weekend I enjoyed wearing the Boatneck Linen Dress in Midnight (Sept Sale) on a trip to London. Will keep my eye out for the Tangerine one in the next sale.

This weekend it was the debut of two March sale items: Fair Isle jumper in Bitter Chocolate and Lofty Jaquard jumper in Plum. It's so nice to finally get to wear an end of season purchase. Both made me happy - so longer term keepers.

Hope all is well with everyone. Enjoy your Toast socks- sparkly or otherwise. If nothing appeals in the next drop, I'm getting the Chup Socks!

Dee1224 · 15/10/2023 21:12

Hi @Stoic123 - I do regret not getting the lofty jacquard- such a nice jumper!

AFingerofFudge · 15/10/2023 21:12

@neveradullmoment99 I think the next drop is on Thursday

Dee1224 · 15/10/2023 21:21

Did anyone go to the Notting Hill circle today? I failed miserably and would like to know if I missed anything!

dudsville · 15/10/2023 21:48

@faustina , i always forget how to dress for the season change!

@Dee1224 , that blanket or rug you have your feet on is so pretty!

Hope it's been a restful day @ilovecherries and that you both feel better soon.

Agreed that looks like a beautiful jumper @clowniform , and a lovely sounding outfit (and humors post!).

Those chup socks are on my Christmas list @Stoic123 , aren't they pretty!

Today I was doing chores; mending, organising, ironing, getting out winter coat and gloves and scarf, saw the need for a will baker boy hat so made a purchase, then made a vegetable and lentil stew. Had some wine this evening. All in a dark grey toast cashmere cotton lounge wear dress over the black and white cashmere cotton lounge wear trousers with wool boot socks from the last sale. Then a neighbour came by in urgent need of rosemary from our very large rosemary bush. All felt v toasty!

Stoic123 · 15/10/2023 22:02

@dudsville - very Toast-like nesting! Cashmere Cotton is so cosy.

OftenOrange · 15/10/2023 22:18

I love hearing how everyone is wearing their Toast :
@clowniform Beautiful hand knit, I get inspired to try again with knitting when I see such beauty, but then I look at the two enormous chunky sweaters I knitted and know I should leave it to the experts! The whole outfit sounds extremely tasty as well as Toasty.
@dudsville Your outfit sounds cosy , chic and Autumnal.
@Dee1224 Those sparkly socks , just what I didn’t know I needed. It sent me on a Google search but none as luxe as your Toast ones!

Was it @clowniform who praised the Merino ribbed Uniglo jumpers?
I found a gorgeous green polo neck one and am thrilled, especially since it look s much better on me than the Toast jumper I was hankering for ( lime Shetland boatneck) which didn’t suit me sadly .

@ilovecherries@Countmeout Enjoying hearing about your Mediterranean weather dressing , I don’t do well in the cold and am already missing the sun on bare skin , I don’t care what they say a few rays on the arms and legs are the best .
