@GentlemanJack code 2023-CARES-OBDEB takes £12.75 off it that helps

GentlemanJack · 13/09/2023 14:58

@Theraffarian bought it with the code just now ! Thank you so much. That's one I know I will enjoy for sure.

According to
https://beauty-detective.com/no7-advent-calendars-2023/

The Boots No 7 ACs are available from 3rd October (early access) & 4th October (for everyone else)

Not sure about the Premium AC maybe it's coming out at the same time & the earlier press releases had the wrong date 🤷‍♀️

No mention of the premium one. I hope that doesn't mean they're not doing it after all.

Possimpible · 13/09/2023 16:54

I do wonder if Boots are having issues and that's why we've not heard about the Premium one, but it would be surprising with a company that size.

Initial info on Elle - not as good as last year IMO

HowlsMovingCastleIsHere · 13/09/2023 17:08

@Tambatamba
Thanks! I will keep an eye on it :)

MidnightMeltdown · 13/09/2023 18:28

Yes there's been suspiciously little advertising around the Boots premium calendar which makes me think that it may not launch. I wonder whether they've had issues with sourcing some of the products.

I remember Harrods having issues last year, and then it was launched really late after everyone had already bought their calendars.

Squishmymallow · 13/09/2023 19:00

I actually think that Elle calendar looks ok…although it will depend on the price point (not sure how much it was last year?).
Agree that the lack of marketing around the boots premium doesn’t seem to bode well but I’ll keep fingers crossed the dates are just mixed up somehow.

Isabelle70 · 13/09/2023 19:02

I had BD credit so went for Liberty.
I am now trying to decide what other non beauty calendars I need... a chocolate, a snack and a stationery one!

serena7 · 13/09/2023 19:06

I think Boots are trying to flog their premium beauty box before launching the calendar. It's probably not selling as quickly as they hoped.

ferretface · 13/09/2023 20:07

I just tried the Floral Street perfume that is in Glossybox today - Wonderland Peony - it is quite pretty. Definitely a fruity floral (which is a fragrance category a lot of fragrance snobs like to disparage) but it has a real juicy tartness to it initially. Only just sprayed it so be interested to see how it dries down, but I wouldn't be disappointed to have a calendar with this in.

That scent is supposed to be very similwr to Vilhelm Poets of Berlin which is in the Liberty AC.

TheChosenTwo · 13/09/2023 22:36

In the last Liberty beauty drop there was a Vilhelm fragrance in there that was so cloying, it reminded me of poison that my stepmum used to wear (lovely lady, dreadful perfume!), so heady and I went to scrub my neck immediately and kept catching whiffs of it all day, migraine inducing!!
I absolutely loved another sample they included previously though, bassilica and Fellini or something like that, I bought myself a big one in the end!

MidnightMeltdown · 14/09/2023 00:10

Hmmm... after watching an unboxing, I think I need a Space NK calendar

Tambatamba · 14/09/2023 03:37

I just remembered that in previous years, Charlotte Tilbury sells her last year's advent calendar at half price around Black Friday time so that's definitely worth getting if you can.

stayathomer · 14/09/2023 05:56

I need to make a list- thinking Clinique or a one brand sort of calendar. Got no7 for a present years ago and it was fab although I like their make up more than skincare.

CrispyBits · 14/09/2023 06:12

Loved the John Lewis last year but just looked at it and was wondering if it was the same one. Felt like a lot of repeats.

Had Liberty the year before and Space NK the year before that. They feel very samey and I’ve got a lot of unused products that I’ve tried once so can’t sell. Disappointed!

Peridot1 · 14/09/2023 07:28

@moana5 - I quite like the Boots Premium one. A lot in that I would use I think.

TheDuchessOfMN · 14/09/2023 07:30

The Boots premium one is available on the ROI website. €109. I don’t know what to do now.
It’s not as exciting or luxurious as Space NK etc but it’s hard to justify €230+ for the luxury ones when they’re all pretty much repeats of the past few years

Peridot1 · 14/09/2023 07:36

That’s how I feel @TheDuchessOfMN. There is actually quite a few things in the Boots one that I haven’t used before. The more expensive calendars have a lot of repeats for me because I’ve had them all before.

And I still don’t actually need anything at all for a very long time! But am still pondering!

Boppertini · 14/09/2023 07:36

I’d be likely to buy the boots premium one if it wasn’t for the colour choices of the makeup, I don’t think I could make use of any of the lip or blush products. Good calendar for the price otherwise!

Tambatamba · 14/09/2023 07:48

I really do not like the Huda lipsticks - I've had countless ones in beauty boxes over the years and I find them unflattering and uncomfortable. Charlotte tilbury is my favourite for make up.

Does anyone remember when Eltoria decided to make her own advent calendars and charged £50 but just boxed up items from her gifted influencer advent calendars (and plastic crap from China) which people opened to find they had been used! People were livid.

Same. There also seems be a lot of cleansers/exfoliants! It's a good calendar and it's nice to see some new brands but I don't think it's for me.
I did just pre-order the Degustabox one though- that's a no brainer for me!

Angeldelightful · 14/09/2023 08:37

Place holding. I’m not going to get a Calendar, I have enough mini beauty products, but I’m interested nonetheless!
