Are we going to buy or have we peaked?

My Liberty AC will arrive this afternoon! I only bought it yesterday!

I’ll also get the M&S one, as it’s probably the cheapest AC out there and it’s easy enough to spend £30-40 to qualify. I always need socks as my dogs like to steal them from the laundry basket and bury them in the garden.

Housewife2010 · 28/09/2023 13:47

My Anthropologie AC has just arrived. Looks adorable. I got a great deal with it.
Just ordered Degustabox AC. We loved it last year.
Hopefully Liberty should come tomorrow.

Growlybear83 · 28/09/2023 13:59

I ordered my Liberty calendar this morning and I'm hoping my husband hasn't ignored the emails he's been receiving from Jo Malone - I signed him up for notification of when the calendar went on sale. I've got my harrods fragrance calendar tucked away so I think that's me done for this year. Apart from maybe M&S 😆😆

Wah. I honestly can’t decide whether to spend my Liberty beauty drop money (+ another £100, ahem) on the advent calendar or buy a full-sized cleanser from the beauty drop that I really liked. It was the insane black mud one that came in the spring box. I loved it, although I don’t think it was very popular on here.

The calendar looks so festive though … but after last year’s M&S one I went off calendars & promised myself no more …

Well screw Liberty. I’ve just looked at it & now I want the Vogue advent calendar.

but fuck me - the price!

QueefofSheena · 28/09/2023 15:37

I'm gutted that I dithered on the Harrods fragrance AC. I'm done for now with Liberty and the EL blockbuster. I'll get Glossybox or Anthropologie if they are reduced nearer BF.

I'm also waiting for the Mac Blizzard special edition release next week. I've been saving Boots points to spend on sparkly frivolous Mac make up bits 😁

TheOwlChronicles · 28/09/2023 16:13

Does anyone know when Net A Porter release theirs?

pinkchampagne1 · 28/09/2023 16:24

I got excited for a minute as John Lewis reward members can get £20 off a £200 order but frustratingly it expires on the 3rd October and the advent is released on the 4th!

Stokey · 28/09/2023 16:38

@Housewife2010 do you know if there's a discount code for degusta? I think I quite fancy that as a "house" one.

It did have a % off after it was released last year. I’d had mine since launch but I guess it’s a battle of wills if it’s going to go out of stock!

Theraffarian · 28/09/2023 16:43

If you had signed up for their emails they sent a £5 reduction that was automatically added to your account when you ordered . Might still be worth signing up to see if they send one .

Pinenu · 28/09/2023 16:44

Degusta won’t work for me, I fill out the order details and click pay but it doesn’t go through.

I’m struggling to resist liberty and ordering the Degusta is a good distraction… but now I feel like it’s not working as a sign for me to buy Liberty 😂 Stop it!

pinkchampagne1 · 28/09/2023 16:46

The last 2 years I have ordered on launch day. The 2021 calendar sold out quickly so I feared the same would happen again last year. Turns out it didn’t sell as fast and ended up getting discontinued for Black Friday.
I maybe need to be strong and hold off this year. 🤔

MidnightMeltdown · 27/09/2023 23:29

@Tambatamba

Hmm... maybe. I don't recall there being much anti aging stuff in CB. Maybe a retinal serum. But Selfridges has collagen supplements.

Sephora is a good idea

The Ren serum is anti ageing (full size). Also the alpha beta peel is aimed at anti ageing really. And there's two eye creams (I think) But tbh there is less pro-collagen marine cream around in all of the calendars so I think they have tried to aim them at a wider audience.

I really like the Votary cleanser - really lovely.

Thank you @Housewife2010 Flowers

simplesimply · 28/09/2023 18:56

So far I've managed to resist the advent calendars but I've just ordered one of these Selfridge's skincare kits

https://www.selfridges.com/GB/en/cat/selfridges-the-barrier-building-skincare-kit_R04217324/?clickref=1011lxPTuGnJ

I love the Sunday Riley CEO serum and that is worth more than the cost of the kit alone, I'm also excited to try the ren balm because I love their evercalm range and like the look of the Murad cleanser.

Giftwithpurchase · 28/09/2023 20:10

Astrid & Miyu are doing their jewellery advents this year - cheapest is £350, then £6 something then just short of £1k for the 14k gold one 🤑 Love the idea but way too spendy & the value isn't that great.. will consider if reduced tho!!

Nearlyadoctor · 28/09/2023 20:53

Just ordered Jo Malone , every year I procrastinate and then regret not ordering and having just done a bank account switch had £200 towards it. It’s the only one this year where I know I’ll use everything.
Bodyshop have a 25% discount today which can be used against advent calendars but DD 16 said she’d rather just have a chocolate one this year unless I fancied splashing out on The Vogue one for her , in which case she’d kindly let me have The White Company bedsocks 🤣🤣

PomRuns · 28/09/2023 21:24

I’ve huge FOMO on Liberty now and I’d previously not been interested. I’ve only about £60 beauty drop credit though.
Although have 6 boxes I could sell.

MidnightMeltdown · 29/09/2023 00:07

@Tambatamba

I use the alpha beta peels and I think that they're pretty good for young skin too (depending on skin type). They are very good for clearing breakouts and making skin glow.

The Ren serum is retinol, which is generally recommended for women in their 20s up - but it is also recommended for younger people who suffer with breakouts as it unclogs pores and helps prevent spots.

I wouldn't say that these products are exclusively anti-aging, but it depends on your dds skin type. If breakouts aren't an issue for her then she may not be interested. At her age, I think that I was more interested in makeup than skin care.

LaBrujaPiruja · 29/09/2023 00:16

I have succumbed to Vogue
🤦🏼‍♀️

Tambatamba · 29/09/2023 07:53

Yes, sadly, you have aging skin once you hit 25 😩 I did have professional peels from 26. You are right that they prevent break pits.

jenniabc · 29/09/2023 09:10

Does anyone know if the Lush one is likely to be reduced at any point? (Or have a discount code)?

Tambatamba · 29/09/2023 10:00

The Lush one usually sells out - I've never seen it discounted.

Doubleraspberry · 29/09/2023 10:05

Body Shop has 25% off, an advert has just told me.
