@sonjadog @dudsville You’re right about haphazard. Surely Toast could stipulate elastic type and provide a tape measure.
Also love the Sea Kelp skirt , nice loose waist which I like for a gathered skirt , otherwise it bunches .
The arty splotchy one is different, bunches and so I passed .
My trailing Ikat skirt is also tight , but it was Sale and I’ve kept it . It’s turned into a real wardrobe staple but I wish it had the nice wide loose waist .
I keep stretching it using full force but the elastic memory isn’t budging !

I took back to my local store Sale returns : 3 Dresses, 2 Tees , and the latest parcel of 2 blouses is a return, , so am feeling in the market for some new pieces .
In my sights are :
Green check tweed coat …love but the big front pockets worry me , I can’t refrain from putting hands in that will ruin it.
VEJA Blue Black trainers ..

Otherwise I’m not feeling crazy for anything else .
Im feeling a big gap for comfy sharp footwear , some cool loafers maybe .

Re the elastic. Normally I would buy a size down in elastic waists from Toast to avoid too much material elsewhere too but in the space check shorts, which had the new sizing, were smaller all over in term of length and fabric . Still mulling over what to do about the Alix sizing which has changed to s,m etc because of this. I ordered 3 pairs of shorts in sale but am reluctant to order more than one pair of Alix at a time.

I kept the towel @Dee1224 as it’s much bigger than a similar weight one I have had a few years from TKMaxx. I can see a few uses for it, apart from being a towel.

I keep thinking it's all going to be in the sale so might as well wait !

The Astrid dress has caught my eye,does anyone have it ?

I'm getting like this now too! The only thing I really wanted was the cord dress and Ive got that. Tbh, if you have Kindred you are quite likely to get the things you want at a much much more reduced price. Look at the Maeve dress! I bought that and it never went oos!! Also the lovely white check blouse. Reduced to a song compared to what I paid for it a few weeks ago. So annoying.
The only thing, as someone else said on here is that its not great when it is out of season. I hate just storing things and by the time I wear them, I go off it!!!

Reviews state its thin cotton so unlikely I will get much wear out of it now , similar to the Maya which I will probably wear a couple of times before it gets too cold.
Will hope it goes in the sale.
Have been sensible and ordered a new pair of denim Annie's and the blue side button sweater from my list.

@Laska2Meryls was it you who dyed somethig to match Thorn Green? How did you do it?

@Countmeout - I am keeping my towel too - I will use it as a shawl next summer. It would be lovely if I ever get to go abroad again, (not looking too hopeful in the near future, unfortunately 🙃). Maybe we’ll have a nice summer here next year 🤞

Sent three returns off via Inpost yesterday but haven’t had any notification of pick up and wasn’t able to get a receipt at the lockers. Is this normal? I am getting a bit worried.

@OftenOrange, i don't know if it's going to help but i dry my tighter fitting elastic waist things by stretching the waistline over somethin like a chair back.

@neveradullmoment99 , that's one of my reasons for not buying full price, the sales are usually with big discounts, but also i find that once I've looked at something for a while i actually lose interest, so by the time something makes it to a sale if I'm still interested then that's a good sign!

I went into my closest Toast shop (not that close!) with all my returns from the sale today. I didn't do well from the sale especially down to getting the sizing wrong! I did keep the linen swingy short and the front seam trousers but that was it.
Anyhow, the shop assistant said the new (small) drop of winter items will be at the start of October. Later in the conversation she said it would be next weekend so here's hoping. She let me have a sneaky peak of some Donegal sweaters that will be included. They are all plain but with the coloured flecks in, there was a yellowish one, a cinnamon sort of colour and another that I've already forgotten! Sadly she then was called away so no other info!!

I have the version for the spring in the dark blue/grey and even though it isn't the most flattering garment I own, I love it. Something to do with the unusual shape and I feel more of a style icon in it :-D I am trying to justify the cost of the denim, but I haven't convinced myself yet...

Ikat dress came and it's going straight back. Did anyone keep theirs? Due to the vertical stripes the side seams have a really jarring mismatch between the front and back. This isn't so obvious when it's all gathered up, but is enough to bother me when hanging loose, and of course I think the gathered looks prissy and totally out of step with the (lovely) organic fabric while loving the breezy loose silhouette. So my sale hit rate is 0%! Do Toast revoke kindred privileges? 😀

It is beautiful on you, but you need to be feeling it. I think a few people did have their knees nd red revoked without apparent reason.

I agree that the ikat dress is lovely on you @clowniform . But I returned the jacket earlier in the season for similar reasons - the pattern placement on the pockets made it all look a bit muddled and cheap. With a big pattern like this, pattern placement is important (to me at least).

Today I am wearing the gingham cotton/cashmere culottes I bought on eBay recently. I just love them, and would really like another similar pair. The sale mill pond ones went back as just too yellow, and I think the ikat ones, although beautiful, are too big a pattern for me. Hoping to see some more culottes with an elasticated (old elastic!) waist soon. Don’t they usually do the crinkle fabric in a wide trouser/culotte? I haven’t seen those this season (although I am always in two minds about the feel of that fabric).

And while i’m here, a question…
How is anyone planning on wearing the vneck Lydia jersey dress into cooler weather? Does it work with a knit over the top? What about boots, does it work with them? Or does it really look too summery for that?
I always think there is going to be a spell of weather in autumn where I can just layer a little, but I am already wearing a big jumper and a scarf (inside!) today.

Yes they did crinkle culottes in the blue check a couple of years ago I think.
I've got the culottes and the dress.
Really nice weighty fabric for autumn.

Hope it works @OftenOrange . I think it's working on mine. If it doesn't then I'll open a little cut inside the waistband and cut the elastic, let it out by an inch or two and stich that down. It's very easy to do, but I've wanted to see if this would work first!

You've made me laugh@clowniform , i would totally worried about looking prissy! But you don't at all, it's really beautiful on you cinched! I prefer it to loose, but the mismatch you've highlighted would be annoying, i was just remembering your pic @ScottishMouse!

I've been wearing the pleated denim trousers (the ones that I removed a pleat either side to get them to lay flat for me) and the mango tank with a loose fitting navy emma over it. I was out running errands and had on the orange dogtooth wool coat from the winter sale a couple of years ago, with brown boston and same colour falke cozy wool socks - these socks are truly cozy! This coat makes me really happy, and I was walking around thinking about the green one. Would i buy it? There are a few things in my wardrobe that don't go with the orange one but it is really easy to wear... also I i think it's already a reasonable price so i wonder if it ever would pitch up in a sale.
