@clowniform, to be honest I couldn’t say how often I’d wear it, I’ve some dresses I reach for almost weekly, others hardly at all.. the fabric felt very stiff !! Didn’t have the drape I’d hoped for, I have made dress purchases before that only see the outside of wardrobe seldomly, I think I’m still in summer mindset shopping, I’m possibly expecting everything to fall and drape like linen .. who knows, I’ll definitely go back with hubby

@clowniform when you say twisted neckband, the neck on the boy tees always looks a bit like that as in it doesn’t fall flat, is that what you mean? Sometimes they’ll give you 15% off if you keep them- we’re they sale?

I thought @clowniform means where the red lines are as if the fabric is cut wrong? The necks I thought were just a characteristic of Toast Tees. It’s so people know it’s not Primark 😬🤣.

Snowyowl78 · 20/09/2023 10:48

@Countmeout im not sure, I do find the necks a bit annoying. I’d rather have one like the men’s

Firesideknitting · 20/09/2023 11:11

Well my last 2 sale orders have been dispatched, thankfully nothing has been refunded. I did however order the maya needle cord dress to try.. along with the check apron (always need aprons).

gosh it’s chilly today in lincolnshire… definitely a jumper day …

whats everyone wearing today ?? Im
still in my pyjamas!!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 20/09/2023 11:17

Today's outfit
Toast denims, don't know when from but one of my favourites, long sleeve emma and seasalt tank, plus toast socks and vans.

I'm liking the Lydia jumpsuit more and more, especially now I've got the wriggling in and out perfected.
I don't think I need a bigger size.
With and without a tee.

Thanks @ToastCosILoveIt

Dee1224 · 20/09/2023 11:30

Looking good @Theteapotsbrokenspout - I particularly like the jumpsuit and tee combo!

@Firesideknitting and @clowniform - I finally got delivery confirmation from RM for my last two orders. They were only posted yesterday, which is a bit poor considering I ordered early on Friday!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 20/09/2023 11:33

Thanks @Dee1224 It’s a definite keeper Smile

Dee1224 · 20/09/2023 11:36

I also really like your outfit today @Theteapotsbrokenspout !

I am wearing my trusty Toast linen trousers with my Walking Dead tee shirt, (in keeping with the mood round my house today!) I know it’s a weird combo, but it works for me!

I have hung the pique jacket up in my room over Pond and enjoyed looking at them together, so it’s staying. I am holding off on sending the rest back until my last two orders come tomorrow.

I am also having second thoughts about the towel, (which is ridiculous, given that I ordered it three times to get one that’s perfect!) It just seems a bit ‘unnecessary’.

Will decide tomorrow.

Firesideknitting · 20/09/2023 11:38

This is me today, Kate Barton canvas jumpsuit, linen swing shirt, will throw the tomatoe red cardigan from the men’s section on with this too …

Dee1224 · 20/09/2023 11:41

Love that colour combo @Firesideknitting - they are my colours too!

Dee1224 · 20/09/2023 11:43

@dudsville - following on from your point about the lime trapeze having a different pattern on one strap - I checked the one I ordered and it’s the same - really green on one side and not the other. Can’t unsee it now, but fortunately it’s going back anyway as too big!

Any experiences with the Fracap mules?
I had size 39 delivered together with my sales items. They are just accurately long enough for my feet - but how much difference would there be between sizes 39 and 40? I am thinking that I might want to wear them with some nice Toast or handknitted socks, but I have no experience regarding how much extra space such socks would acquire...
Any hints and tips appreciated.

Both looks good!

I got the Lydia jumpsuit in the sale couple of months ago. My first jumpsuit in decades. I really like it, but have a hard time wearing a t-shirt under it, as the t-shirt seems to fold/roll. Is there a trick to this?

faustina · 20/09/2023 12:56

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - that looks brilliant and fits you like a glove

@Firesideknitting - I love that jumpsuit too!

Did anyone else get the email from Mimi Berry who have started making knitwear? Only two different styles, but I"m very tempted!

@BettinaInDenmark I will go and find my thickest socks and try mine on for you

BettinaInDenmark · 20/09/2023 13:05

Thanks, @faustina I appreciate your help

faustina · 20/09/2023 13:09

@BettinaInDenmark - these are the mauna kea socks which are very thick cotton and they're fine on me. The mules are quite wide

Does the socks ad significantly to the length of your foot?

faustina · 20/09/2023 13:17

@BettinaInDenmark - yes, a little, but not so much as to overspill the mules. They still fit in all directions!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 20/09/2023 13:29

Thanks @Firesideknitting I love the colour of your jumpsuit.

@BettinaInDenmark funny you should say about tees rolling up, I have that problem with some Seasalt dungarees and have been known to tuck the tee into my knickers when I get really fed up with it Blush. Hopefully it won’t be the same with the Lydia.

@faustinathat looks brilliant and fits you like a glove” thank you, really comfortable too.

clowniform · 20/09/2023 13:34

Vicariously enjoying your nip-in-the-air outfits and layering @Theteapotsbrokenspout @Firesideknitting
Still awkwardly humid in London so I'm in a self-sewn rusty linen set (fake 'Alix' trousers and a boxy short sleeved shirt.)

@Snowyowl78 and @Countmeout lol sorry for my terrible picture causing more confusion! Aint buying that it's a sIgNaTuRe aRtIsaAnAl fEaTuRe rather than just crap sewing, as some of the other sizes I ordered do not have these faults, and nor are they in the website pics! 😝
The twisting results from rush-sewing and distorting the second pass of a band that's cut on the bias, which I know because it's what I did on my first attempt at making a tee! Probably clearer on the hem of the v-neck:
(Can you tell I've spent all morning marking student summer projects?)

Thanks for news @SmaugMum on the MH sample sale! I hope they will have fabrics this time round.

@BettinaInDenmark how are you liking your other things? It must feel like Christmas!

My men’s cardi lasted the whole of 2 mins, oldest son walked in and put it on saying ‘ooo this is toasty’.
