I think they’ll put the items you mention @PretLea into the winter sale or carry some of them forward. I think they carried stuff forward last year and they only appeared in the following year’s early summer sale. I may be talking absolute rubbish though.

I’m glad to hear about those tanks being worth trying. I may have stabbed at the wrong size though as I ordered only 1 of each.

The cord dress looked lovely in the video @neveradullmoment99 .

dudsville · 15/09/2023 09:19

It does seem like an opportunity to try something really special @OftenOrange doesn't it, even if it does still total something a little eye watering! I had also considered the coral embroidery top and skirt, but I couldn't imagine as many uses for it. Although this ikat set is really special, it also looks easier to fit into my lifestyle. My hope is that I like and keep the ikat set and arizonas and send everything else back!

In celebration I'm wearing the ikat dress from a few years ago. So comfy. But I'm reminded that I need to add in a little clear plastic snap to keep the top closed! I've safety pinned it for now. My colleagues do not need a surprise!

I am planning to take my returns back to an actual shop too as there's so much, though I have't had the problems with returns that some here have had.

Firesideknitting · 15/09/2023 09:26

ahh all my items have shipped, I’m sale done unless they pull out some of the sandles I was after ( summer sale purchase so not likely). Hope these arrive Tuesday/Wednesday..

dudsville · 15/09/2023 09:30

That's nice @Firesideknitting , you have a nice collection of thigns on their way! All mine have been fulfilled so far except 1 tee, which I assume I'll be getting a cancellation notice about, and the last two orders, one made this morning, but I don't expect to get nything before about wednesday.

dudsville · 15/09/2023 09:33

I'm curious what happens behond the scenes. Does anyone know? Is there a big warehouse with lots of people running around with handheld devices? Is it like fast food where someone at the front is shouting "I need one ikate set, one arizonas and... oh dear what was she thinking, that will never fit...on bikini".

Stravaig · 15/09/2023 09:37

@dudsville 🤣

As ever, vicariously enjoying the scrum! May all parcels arrive swiftly, all garments fit beautifully, and all refunds be instantaneous.

Firesideknitting · 15/09/2023 09:40

my stripe organic flannel pyjamas arrived yesterday, they are super soft and comfy … along with the batik skirt (have the dress and love it).

whats everyone wearing at the moment?? Yesterday was decidedly cooler… I had Annie jeans, with a ruffle neck blouse from a few seasons ago with a tank from last winter … today could be panel front trousers and a random top, I’m off to finish off some bedroom panelling..

Snowyowl78 · 15/09/2023 09:40

I was just reading the reviews of the Fracap and someone has suggested that toast reviews are fake! Haha. The have assured them that they are all real

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 15/09/2023 09:47

All my orders have been despatched and it looks like some will be delivered tomorrow.

Unfortunately this means DH will be here and I haven’t got around to mentioning another toast sale to him as I don’t think he has recovered from the scale of deliveries I received from the last one 😁.

dudsville · 15/09/2023 09:56

That made me laugh @Theteapotsbrokenspout . I only just mentioned the sale to my dh! Thankfully we have seperate accounts for this kind of thing or he might panic!

@Stravaig , i think your wish is the perfect title for a winter sale!

Dee1224 · 15/09/2023 10:02

@dudsville 🤣🤣🤣

OftenOrange · 15/09/2023 11:14

@Snowyowl78 Ha ,I love defensive the PR team are , on this occasion with cause.
I’ve left several snarky comments about their use of Chinese manufacturers and also the idea of returning our used items to them on their Instagram , and they come back with spurious justifications .
@Firesideknitting Love your outfit from yesterday , I think my Annie jeans ( 3 pairs) are lowest cost per wear of any clothing item ever.
I have to force myself not to wear them every day .
Yesterday I wore the Indigo Pinafore dress , Cumin weird collar t shirt , and Fracap Lina sandals for hospital visit .
The pinafore I like with bare legs but can’t abide with tights as it clings to the legs when I walk , so I’m trying to give it some use.
Today wearing it with deep olive Emma T and same sandals.

Shout out for Fracap Lina , ❤️
And the Reed seersucker top , much reduced in sale ( comes up small because of cut around armholes)

BettinaInDenmark · 15/09/2023 11:28

Oh happy days! Just had confirmation that my 19 (20 because of a dublet) items has been dispatched.
Besides wanting to receive the clothes, I am so looking forward to see how the 2 bundles of overpriced fabric remnants actually looks. Crossing fingers for some nice patterns!
With an extreme case of good luck it will be with me tomorrow on Saturday; else it will hopefully be Monday.

I’m wearing the suki panneled jeans and the stripe collared tee. I’m just about to add an old cream vest from Hush though, it’s freezing!

I wondered if anyone has this top which I passed on at the time because I thought I’d look daft ,and would it be possible to remove some frill ?
Looks airy and it’s cheap …

I believe that they are real reviews but I do wonder if there is any selection bias. I once gave three product reviews in the same week - 2 very positive and one not so. Only one didn't get published.

Could have just been an oversight.

SmartHamster · 15/09/2023 11:44

@OftenOrange do you mind me asking which pinafore dress you have?

I have one from years ago (square neckline, crossover straps) which I love in every way except for the weird fold/pleat in the fabric at the back if the skirt. It sticks out and creates a sort of 'point' over my butt (I think my less that perfectly svelte figure may contribute to this!) I've never figured out a way to make it hang differently...

Loving hearing about all the sale buys. Nothing tempted me enought to splurge this time so I'm just watching!

Snowyowl78 · 15/09/2023 11:55

@OftenOrange i saw someone wearing that when I went to The Newt and they looked amazing and chic

Today I am debuting the slate pinafore which I had taken up its lovely and airy! With a tshirt under as the arm holes are big and low
yesterday I wore the peaks print dress, it’s been a toasty week!

everyone baulks at the l price I pay for clothes but then all seem to wait to borrrow my things, hmmm

SmartHamster · 15/09/2023 11:56

@clowniform re. coats and dresses. Yes, sleeves are a pain! But the length thing is the problem for me.

I think I have always had practical winter coats that look great with trousers/jeans but terrible with dresses. Hip length / raincoats etc. Summer jackets are fine!

I do have a long (ankle length) vintage Laura Ashley wool coat which looks amazing with everything (according to me, anyway!) but somehow never gets worn - I usually find wool coats too hot sadly.

faustina · 15/09/2023 12:01

@PretLea and @Countmeout - it is strange about the lack of knitwear and jackets, although I still have two cord jackets from the last sale sitting unworn in my wardrobe waiting for the colder weather (26 here today). I was so tempted by the clogs and the bleu de chauffe bags - and the linen bag which I thought someone here had tried to buy much earlier in the summer and they were told they'd all sold out instantly.

All three of my orders despatched this morning, plus my Uniqlo C order. (they have some interesting boots and loafers too if anyone's looking). It's a funny time of year isn't it? Too hot for jumpers, but it somehow feels wrong to go out in shorts

BettinaInDenmark · 15/09/2023 12:02

Today I'm wearing Cotton Linen Knitted Top | Croft Green and Alix* *Terra Stripe Linen Trousers | Slate/Ecru. As it's rather cold in the offices, I've taken also a green wool/cashmere Toast sweater, same shad as croft green, which I will probably put on in a moment.

applecatchers36 · 15/09/2023 13:22

My order has dispatched so am expecting delivery maybe tomorrow. Today am wearing the Japanese check trousers from a couple of summers ago and a boy tee which are comfy for wfh in this in-between weather ..

PretLea · 15/09/2023 13:33

I managed the breen coloured linen bag @faustina. It was me asking about the linen bag during the summer sale, so I’m really glad it popped up again this time round. I also got the bleu de chauffe grey bag out of curiosity - I think I remember someone here saying they were eyeing the orange one. I hope I’ll like it.

I’m wearing the gingham check (timber/ecru) dress with the same coloured shirt as a little over shirt (just like in the live video) (both from the summer sale), and the Fracap Ola black sandals. Enjoying the warm sunshine here.

OftenOrange · 15/09/2023 13:42

@SmartHamster My denim pinafore is five or so years old, maybe the first version.
It has a high square neck,3 white buttons either side, front pockets, back vent and is quite long and straight.
I prefer the newer versions but this is fine for now.
Hope you can find a way towers yours ; or sell it and get a different version?

SmartHamster · 15/09/2023 13:51

Yes, I think I'll be selling it on. Youre sounds much nicer - I'll have a look at the straighter ones 🙂
