What ‘perfect’ version of an item have you given up on?

For me it’s the perfect Bretton stripe cardigan and jumper.

Pat McGrath lipsticks might answer your prayers. Lovely texture and v long lasting.

This. I had one that lasted years until I got too fat. I would pay good money for a new one, I think Baukjen is the best bet for the fabric and cut but not seen that shape in there yet.

I had this from M&S in 2007. I miss it every winter.

Well, last year I found my Perfect Parka so I know that miracles do happen !

A lightweight waterproof coat for when it rains but isn't cold.
I have a fatface one which has a wonderful deep hood but is slightly frumpy looking and is getting old now.
Everything seems to be khaki or navy, both of which look awful on me.
So many have hoods that are too shallow or sleeves that are too short. Some have annoying toggles that dangle at the back. I also hate those extra decorative strap things that so many raincoats have at the bottom of the sleeves.

Thanks! Nice scoop neck but looks a bit flimsy a boxy, I'd like something smarter to wear o work under a cardigan or a jacket

Black, soft cotton nightie with wide, rather than spaghetti, straps. Nice ‘proper’ cotton, rather than jersey cotton.

Black v thin cotton sundress with very short sleeves and a v or scoop neck. Extra points for broderie.

Cotton and silk mix slightly boho blouses like M&S used to do, before they started putting giant puffy sleeves on crap fabric for everything.

Black leather pencil skirt that isn’t too long and doesn’t have a crap zip (looking at you, Whistles).

Slip nighties that your boobs don't slip out of during the night.

I'm too warm in t shirt styles, but vest tops and slips end up tying me up.

A bag that can fit my iPad and keyboard or small laptop with room for a water bottle, ideally lunch, lots of sections, but they’re hidden, can be worn on the back as well as a shoulder strap - not a top handle - ideally waterproof, must be stylish and not heavy and not some hiking wear.

The perfect pair of jeans. Fit well at bum and belly, not baggy on the legs but not skinny.

I got two really good t-shirts from Cos, one long sleeved and the other short. They were really good value for the quality of the material.

Some really good sandals. This year I was on the hunt for good walking sandals that were stylish. Nice enough to wear day and evening with a dress, but comfy enough to walk on trails or cobbles.

I settled for something I found on Amazon (jambu), but I don't love them. They're just ok.

Not sure if they will be your idea of stylish, but the Hotter Tourist sandals served exactly that purpose for me this summer.

I found some cage ones with a thick sole on schuh.

Silver nail polish, that looks proper bright silver, not grey, more chromey. But not gel as I only use ordinary varnish

So many I saw were near but not perfect
I got a discount with the coat too . Perfect

Cut out ankle boots , the right height (skimming the ankle), the right depth of cut (not too deep) and the right heel (chunky but still a triangle shape.

I had a pair about ten years ago and in hindsight I just should have bought 40 pairs and I'd have been sorted for life .
