I'm a bit gutted for them. I think the idea was good but somehow missed the mark. I sent all my last box back but have had great nuggets of items in the past. I liked having it posted too.

Thanks for the heads up - just ordered another one to take advantage of the discount. I also found them hit and miss but got some lovely skirts that I wear all the time.

Lamelie · 26/08/2023 07:49

I’m gutted for them. Had some real gems and kept all of the last couple of boxes. I’ve brought my box due end of September forward to next week.

accentdusoleil · 26/08/2023 08:12

Agree with others : hit and miss (but nature of the beast I suppose as i signed up so I could be sent stuff i wouldn't pick out myself )

Are people going to change to other services ? Lookiero?

I looked the comparison reviews. Lookiero doesn't give a preview which was important to me. They also give only 5 days to return which unlike StitchFix can't be changed in the app. They don't seem great.

PhillyJoe · 26/08/2023 08:36

I’ve tried Lookiero and haven’t loved the clothes as much and it does need to be sent back fast which doesn’t suit me. They’ve sent me trainers in both of the boxes I’ve had even though I’m sure I’ve asked for them not to.

lurcherlove · 26/08/2023 08:38

Hmm I’ve had some good bits from them but also some way off and so overpriced. I was hoping it would make me more adventurous in my own styling, but it was nearly all very bland.

I moved to Lookiero having started with Stitch Fix (and been disappointed for all the same reasons as everyone else). Lookiero do give you a preview, you see 10 items which you can tick to say you definitely want included or reject to say you definitely don't want. If you reject more than 5, the items that then arrive you won't have previewed.
I've found them to be much better for me than Stitch fix was so far. It frustrated me that stitch fix would send so much of their own brand stuff when part of my reason for using it was to discover new brands I could then buy more from.

Apparently they have been using computer generated algorithms rather than human stylists to choose boxes which is probably why there has been a reduction in quality and why preferences / comments are being ignored.
It’s a shame I’ve had done lovely things from them but also some very poor boxes.

I couldn't believe threads on here where people thought it was actual "stylists" picking stuff. It was obvious it was an algorithm based business.

earboop · 26/08/2023 08:50

I tried them for a while but eventually I gave up. Boxes ended up being mostly their own brand and also the clothes felt really frumpy

CaveMum · 26/08/2023 08:52

It says they will keep offering fixes until 31st October, I wonder if you can get the discount on all fixes between now and then? I’ve set one for 7 Sept and might see if I can sneak one in in October too, if they have available dates!

Cyclingmummy1 · 26/08/2023 09:00

I've got some credit so will be ordering one last box.

WhatapityWapiti · 26/08/2023 09:33

I’m tempted by one last one, but surely they are going to just be using up whatever stock they have, so the selections are likely to be even more random?

re the algorithm, I recall that they actually made a big thing of using one, with all the swiping yes and no to pictures that they asked you to do to educate it in your likes and dislikes. However my understanding was that a human did do the very final selection as you always got a note from whoever did it, and they gave you the option to have the same stylist or a new one. . Perhaps I was naive, but I feel that would have been too deceitful to comply with consumer law if it was 100% done by AI.

indyocean · 26/08/2023 09:40

Oh no! Just returned a box. I didn't see the email about a discount

Bum

Fallulah · 26/08/2023 09:57

I used to use them a lot but started sending everything back so stopped. The discount looks really good though so I have scheduled a few more boxes - as long as it’s not just them offloading stuff I am looking forward to seeing what they send. I have learned to be really prescriptive in my notes though otherwise they send me frumpy waterfall cardigans and tunic tops (am larger sized and that’s clearly what they think I should wear).

I was a bit disappointed when they started sending Seasalt stuff that I could get cheaper from the actual shop. I’m another who found Sugarhill through them so that in itself was worth it.

Exactly this, despite me putting in the note that I wanted some less-safe items they kept sending jeans and synthetic jumpers. I’m trying one last time but not surprised they are closing.
Agree with those who are happy to have been introduced to sugar hill though!

Cyclingmummy1 · 26/08/2023 11:33

If they are offering big discounts, I might up my spend limit. I usually say mid range, but could change to more expensive.

MelonsOnSaleAgain · 26/08/2023 12:26

I’ve decided to take a punt on one last box given the discounts. Let’s see what they send! Worst case I only lose £10

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 26/08/2023 12:27

DH is gutted. He's had 3 boxes in the last 15 months and actually looked pretty stylish for a while!

ConnieTucker · 26/08/2023 12:28

moostermum · 25/08/2023 23:05

My first few boxes were amazing but then went down hill. I'm not surprised

Me too. And i even got denim in one box after saying no denim.

had some jeans previously that were the best fitting jeans ive ever had.

fabmaccawhackyrhumbsaloft · 26/08/2023 20:57

I've sent for a last box

What price ranges did everyone choose . I found the mid price stuff a bit rubbish but since there's a discount I've gone up a category for each so I'll see what they send me

Most of mine went back save a few pieces .

Moneymonkey · 26/08/2023 21:32

I've just sent for my first box simply because of the discount. I've put quite high price points (£150) on the basis that keeping all 5 would mean I actually pay around £45 per item - which is reasonable.

Hopefully putting such a high price point means getting good ish quality

Lamelie · 27/08/2023 02:22

Oo! Forgot about the price range. I’ve preselected for the first time ever so fingers crossed I’ll have some gems. Although the best things weren’t what I’ve has chosen- expensive Allsaints jumper in May I was about to send back and then wore for a month and white jeans and Breton top!

custardlover · 27/08/2023 16:52

I have kept at least two things from every box I have ever dad and I really love them all too; my favourite pieces. They sent me some Liverpool Los Angeles jeans which I had never heard of but now LOVE and they were cheaper than the ones I can find which ship to the Uk. I didn't mind their own brand stuff but they also stocked a lot of Danish brands like Take Two and I loved them as well. I am sad they're closing.

Middleagedmeangirls · 27/08/2023 17:12

They were hot and miss but they sent me things I would never have tried on and loved so revamped my style quite considerably. Before them I would never have worn jumpsuits or midi dresses and they form the bulk of my wardrobe now. I will miss them.

and I also love Sugarhill Brighton.
