I didn’t see anything else, all the unpacking was being done out of sight.

Noodle421 · 25/08/2023 11:24

When I meant ‘filtering through’ I meant arriving in shops - but not being shown on shop floor yet.

Saurus72 · 25/08/2023 14:13

I feel a bit nervous about the new drop, it sounds like there could be some lovely things - I need so few things in my wardrobe now I need to be really selective.

@ScottishMouse Your dress is absolutely fab, a great find that really suits you.

I’m not working today - went to a sound healing class this morning (v Toast - it’s really helped my mental health this year, I go 1-2 a week), now off out to run a few errands. Wearing this dress from a few years ago, v flowy and cool.

@applecatchers36 I’m also finding the FenugreekLinen Trousers and the Black V Lydia to be my favourite go to items here in S France .
I’ll add the dark sleeveless tir neck Poplin top , my going out top.
And for garden or mooching days the Poplin Painted check Check top

@Laska2Meryls When you said the next one would be the 7th Sept I thought you meant the sale ! One track mind …

OftenOrange · 25/08/2023 14:26

@Saurus@ScottishMouse You both look fabulous in your dresses, you’re making me want to source some of the past styles.
@MrsRadichio I love the way the Graham St ladies style their clothes , scrolling back to the early Toast blogs shows how Toast doesn’t date.
It also reminds me of a lovely check mohair coat I had in my basket during a sale only to find it had sold before I could pay .Lesoon learnt!

mizu · 25/08/2023 14:28

@ScottishMouse I also love that dress, what a find at the exchange!

I'm tempted by the circle event at Shepton Mallet on the 17th, bit of a trek but could meet a friend there too.

applecatchers36 · 25/08/2023 14:57

Agree the dresses look fab Saurus and Scottishmouse and as oftenorange says are timeless.. This makes me feel less bad about my Toast sale spending as it is like an investment 😅

MsDastardley · 25/08/2023 15:16

Stoic123 and Laska2Meryls thanks for your feedback about the Suki. I tried them on again this morning, and also measured against a couple of similar pairs I have that fit me well. There's really not much in it. I think it's probably the leg panel that makes them look a bit bulkier. They are probably right across the hips, so a small would be too tight. I've decided to keep them :)

ScottishMouse · 25/08/2023 19:22

Thanks all. Loving the purple dress too @Saurus72 .

I’m heading out to meet a friend and have kept my circle dress on and put my Hal jacket over the top and a pair of trainers.

@Saurus72 oils love to hear more about your experience of sound healing. I tried a workshop recently and found it not to be as great as I had hoped. An odd experience. But I’m open to trying it again.

TerrierOrTerror · 25/08/2023 19:47

Those who bought the Uniqlo cords last year, they have a new green colour in this year. A little like the Pear Gabi's and so comfortable!

clowniform · 25/08/2023 20:36

Lovely dresses @Saurus72 @ScottishMouse @Laska2Meryls ! Meanwhile I am missing the last feeble bit of summer stuck indoors with Covid with no Toast but lots of toast. 😥

But I did pull out some yarn sample cards to plan a jumper for the patchwork skirt that doesn't match any of the many navies or greys in my wardrobe. In hundreds of shades I literally found 3 (1 brown, 2 brown-grey flecks) that looked ok. All of the blues were just a bit off! Sharing an example of a blue jumper whose shape would be great with it but whose tonal mismatch makes me wince. Tomorrow's task is to decide which of the 3 shortlisted brown shades would go best with my other bottoms.

And yet I am still tempted by rumours of lovely new blue things to come.... hopefully will be recovered enough to mount some resistance by Sept 1st!

Can you link to the Uniqlo cords , please @TerrierOrTerror ? I can only find mens ones ..
I bought the Uniqlo cream and blue linen skipper shirts today.. hopefully will be good for my campervan trip to Spain in a few weeks . We are going to the northern Picos mountains national park and far NW coast and hopefully walking/ cycling .. so wanted lightweight but with sleeves.. Camping gear is a bit different to the usual!

Laska2Meryls · 25/08/2023 20:52

Ooo fab price...thanks @TerrierOrTerror xx

Laska2Meryls · 25/08/2023 20:58

I have a couple of similar ones from Uniqlo from about three years ago and they still look good...

MiracleToast · 25/08/2023 21:16

Toast vest on gardeners world! Is it anyone here?!

Stoic123 · 25/08/2023 21:27

TerrierOrTerror · 25/08/2023 20:49

@Laska2Meryls link below! There are two sets of cord trousers this year, in the same colours. My preferred ones are these ones with the internal drawstring, the others had a button closure and didn't fit me as well.

https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/corduroy-relaxed-fit-ankle-length-trousers-458979.html

I haven't tried the trousers but bought the olive cord mini shoulder bag and, if the material is the same, it's lovely. Slightly more of a silvery tone than the Pear but very similar.

Flowersforbees · 25/08/2023 21:27

Is anyone here on the short side? I'm 5ft, love the clothes and lust after them. But the ones I have tried on drown me.

Any tips on pieces which might work for me?

I lived in the brown cords last year. Managed to get a pair reduced today (this season's brown is more tan) and the same in green at full price. Bonus in that I managed to size down from last year in these and the heattech "jeggings" too.

One of the models in the live videos (I think maybe 3-4 back on the replays) is around that height. She’s got a blonde pixie cut. Might ge worth looking to see what she’s wearing. I think she recommended some of the cropped trousers especially.

I’m not sure where to start with the sizing? Would you think large maybe? My cord gabis are 12, my new twill ones are 10.

@AmethystMoonShine Aarrrrggghhhh I love the Kate Sheridan mini pop bag on that website but have no justification for buying it (due to having so many bags generally and 3 mini bags specifically) but they are so lovely! Just need the feelings to pass which they will, enjoy your excellent bargains.

@ScottishMouse I’m lucky to have found 2 practitioners for sound healing that have really suited me, pure luck that they both work at the yoga studio I go to. I go to one class where the practitioner uses crystal bowls and it is just a sublime experience. I feel like I am carried away in the best way possible, it feels nurturing and transformative. I also go to another class where gongs are used - this is good but not as lovely as the crystal bowls.

Having said all of that, we had a substitute teacher for the crystal bowl class the other day and it was excruciating - just noise, nothing nurturing. If made me realise again how skilled the usual instructors are.

I’ve found it’s helped me manage stress levels better than I have been able to before - my job is v busy and stressy and sound healing (and yoga) makes it all more manageable.

A year ago, I couldn’t have imagined this would be something that I would do or find useful - I’m a very just-get-on-with-it person, not woo woo - but that just wasn’t cutting it anymore. I hope you can find a class/instructor that gels with you.

ScottishMouse · 25/08/2023 23:23

Thanks for the sound healing chat @Saurus72 You sound similar to me, I would have scoffed at anything along those lines not so long ago, but a lot has changed in a year. Mostly down to a lot of therapy, which has made me become much more open minded about many things. I saw another class advertised recently so might give it a go and see how it is.
