I have a blue Lydia @ilovecherries , it didn’t shrink.

Thank you! I’d prefer the blue tbh, but they haven’t had it in stock for ages. In the model pic she is wearing it quite loose so I wasn’t sure. The darts feel as if they are in the right place in the small, whereas in the medium they are ending wuite low and seem to be sagging, somehow. This is why it keeps going back of course! I thought it might be a lovely comfy dress to travel in.

While still looking vaguely stylish! And could be fresher up en route just by changing underwear.

Did anyone catch the live today? I just watched the recording of it. That Bryn leaf dress has jumped to the top of my wish list, looked absolutely lovely on Celina.

Countmeout · 24/08/2023 15:09

I saw it sort of briefly @PretLea . I’ll watch again later , but I thought everything looked terribly wearable. Things were put together the way I would do it.

Noeggsontoast · 24/08/2023 16:18

I am just heading home after my trip to Toast today.

I tried on the two items that I'd had in my basket a while - the dotty print crepe shirt in ginger and the russet forward seam trousers. Both items I purchased a size smaller than I had intended to order online, so worth the visit.

I happened to see a rail which had the most lovely dress, it had just arrived that morning for the new drop in a couple of weeks. I immediately picked it up to try on as it was so striking but the assistant said I couldn't. It's a new Bryn dress but has contrast fabric tie neck and lower skirt. Beautiful greens and the most lovely sky blue. In the end I was allowed to try it on, and I would have bought it there and then just perfect. I sadly wasn't allowed to buy it though. So now I have to be patient until it's released.

There was also some lovely mid green cords that had dropped and two beautiful scarves.

Sorry no photos to share. I wish I could explain this dress better, it's a beauty. I think this is going to be a good next drop.

MiracleToast · 24/08/2023 16:28

@Noeggsontoast sorry you weren’t allowed the dress! Sounds beautiful.

What were the scarves like, please?

MsDastardley · 24/08/2023 16:55

Could someone who's got the Suki jeans help please. I've bought a pair in medium. I think the sizing is right, they are slightly loose fitting, but not too much. They look really long in the body/rise to me, although when I've compared against another pair of trousers they are similar. Are they meant to be worn slightly dropped in the crotch. When I fasten them at waist, maybe a inch above belly button, they look a bit bulgy in the crotch area. Hope this makes sense. They denim is really soft, and I am wondering if the fit will improve with wear, or I am better sending them back.

I also bought the Bryn dress in the burgundy colour. I got the medium, and it is is really tight, which is a shame as it's a lovely dress.

MsDastardley · 24/08/2023 17:06

I've not explained that well! What I mean is that if I fasten them on my natural waist, this is slightly above belly button, then the crotch is very low and looks bulgy. If I pulled them up a bit to sort the crotch area out then then I would be fastening them under my bust. I haven't got a short body, would say average.

Noeggsontoast · 24/08/2023 17:10

@MiracleToast both woollen knit- one was a patterned knit and the other I'm a bit vague on but check like. I I liked both very much but didn't really look at them in a great deal of detail. DH has just become very unwell on the way home so my mind is in a bit of a fuzz.

MiracleToast · 24/08/2023 17:36

@Noeggsontoast really sorry to hear that. Thanks for taking time to reply x

Saurus72 · 24/08/2023 17:41

@Noeggsontoast Ooh how frustrating to not be able to buy it! At least you know it’s coming and what size to order.

The leaves navy dress that’s due for release on 1 September is really high on my wish list, now I’m thinking that I’ll wait to see the whole drop in case I like something else more. In reality, I will not do this because I’m impatient 🤷‍♀️

ilovecherries · 24/08/2023 17:54

Mrs Dastardly, I would say my suki trousers sit the way they do on the model (I sadly do not look like the model). It took a couple of washes for them to soften to that extent though, they were a bit bulgy till then. Wasn’t an issue for me as I wash all the indigo 2/3 times as soon as I decide to keep it as I can’t stand the colour transfer. If you like to keep your indigo new though, can see why that would irritate. Mine are a small and sort of slouch onto my hip bones, but from our earlier discussion about my body shape you will see I have a very long arse. Or a high rise if we are being polite.

Reader, she didn’t wait until the rest of the new collection dropped, instead pre-ordering 2 sizes today 😬

I have literally no idea on sizing. There are dresses I’ve bought that are one size smaller than the recommended size. OTOH the maya dress which was a perfect fit in large (very fitted around the bust), but the recommended size is medium. So I thought I’d order medium and large so I can do a direct comparison.

Thank you. Sounds like my pair are perfect for those with a ‘long arse’ 🤣🤣. I’m going to order the small and compare. I was trying to cut down on returns. I’m not having a good success rate, so far one out of five.

Noeggsontoast · 24/08/2023 18:28

@MiracleToast you're welcome he's in bed now and I'll check on him in a couple of hours. I'm sure he'll be ok in the morning. It all got rather chaotic after a lovely day.

@Saurus72 I'm grateful I was able to try it on. DH liked it too. As you say I know my size so no returns. Bonus!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 24/08/2023 19:10

@MsDastardley I have just had exactly the same dilemma with the Suki trousers, and the same discussion with @Noodle421 .
I ordered the S to compare and they were too tight on the legs and looked completely wrong. I am now happy that the M I got originally are how they are meant to look, so I’m returning the S.

MsDastardley · 24/08/2023 19:16

Thanks Theteapotsbrokenspout. I’m ordering the small to compare. I really like the leg shape, that perfect.

Yes, @MsDastardley it was helpful to compare the two sizes. I kept the medium. There is a surplus of fabric and the crotch is supposed to hang low and the waist tie is designed to be tied wherever you prefer - waist/hips /low hips depending on personal preference/comfort.

MsDastardley · 24/08/2023 19:33

Thanks Noodle421. They’re a bit different than what I normally wear. I can see myself in them this winter!

I wish I lived a bit nearer to a store, maybe I should have a trip to Harrogate

neveradullmoment99 · 24/08/2023 20:40

Well I have worn three of my Toast dresses to work in a row. I wore the Maeve brown and duck egg dress on Monday, The pond with a tee under it on Tuesday and on Wednesday the tiered space check dress. I kind of feel proud of myself for pushing myself!!
The Maeve was the one that got all the compliments. It is a beautiful dress.

That's good news about the new drop.
I watched the live session but the only thing that I really loved was the gorgeous tank.

mizu · 24/08/2023 21:02

@neveradullmoment99 I've always scrolled on past the space check dress on eBay but actually thinking about it, it's a great dress that can be flung on in most weathers!

Laska2Meryls · 24/08/2023 21:51

I also have Suki in M ( and to compare, I have fenugreek balloon trousers in XS and the navy balloon trousers in S ( they are more ' new' sizing). I am a definite inverted triangle with slight (ok maybe more ) apple tum and slim legs .. but am usually high street 12 in trousers , mainly because of waist.

I tried the Suki in S but they pulled a little more than I liked over the hips when I bent or sat down. The legs were ok , but they just felt wrong.. kept the M and although after a couple of wears they relax a little , I certainly dont regret it... Am hoping that the new drop will bring them in slate or black
.

dudsville · 25/08/2023 07:26

@neveradullmoment99 (and @mizu) i love the space check dress so much! I avoid tiered dresses and skirts normally but the fabric is weighty so it doesn't float about and it just feels luxurious.

Monday i wore a cinnamon or tobacco brown pleated skirt, a bit lands girl, with the black circle tee, tuesday i wore the "new to me" cashmere cotton dress and yesterday i was also in the pond!

Stoic123 · 25/08/2023 07:29

Suki trousers are an interesting shape. I have the Large and am usually a high street size 14 but hippy. There is bags of space for me in the waist and legs in the L but not much room in the hip area as @Laska2Meryls found- so M would have been a bit tight there for me.

I do feel a bit Kevin the Teenager in them but the L looks similar fit on me as the model looks in photos - which I like. As they get washed, the material is softening and loose fits works better. Super comfortable.

Countmeout · 25/08/2023 07:39

The new drop sounds really interesting. Can’t wait to see it now.

I watched yesterday’s video again when I had more time. I thought it was really useful, probably because she is the same height as me, I’ve discounted the Fayre top which I did think I might like but the sleeves seemed too big. On the other hand I absolutely loved the beaded jacket (would have to be sale) I thought she really suited it. I agree with @neveradullmoment99 the tank looked marvellous the way she styled it, possibly due to the colour mix in it as it obviously varies.
And loved that Bryn dress . I feel the need for a Bryn dress coming on.

Last few days outfits
Alix indigo with a Cos t shirt
Poplin striped skirt with another random white T-shirt ( so glad I bought this now as I’ve worn it quite a lot)
