@SovietSpy I siad tailoring and I mean proper tailoring. zara h&m etc hasn't had proper tailoring since we'll before covid. blazers trouser etc are made with cheap material. sizing is all over the place. no lining zips not sewn properly badly sewn buttons and worse fake pickets.
proper tailoring is well made well fitted pieces
@pictoosh what's wrong with polo shirts ? they are the staple of evey man in our office during the summer months.

teenysaladandsniffofarose · 18/08/2023 16:37

The whole Y2K trend teenagers are dressing head to in.

I'm only 28 so not exactly passed it🤣 but my god it's so cringey!!!

I thought that about polo shirts. I think they are nice and really suit some boys/men.

I think it suits most men ? 🤷‍♀️ like realistically what do men have in the summer to wear that is smart casual ? 🤔

Has to be the unitard - in any colour. Aside from the nudity issue, they are so deeply unflattering to the body. Completely unforgiving.

Stubbles is gorgeous. I think you should shoe horn him into every current S &B thread.

We need to see Stubbles regularly, so cute.

Crocs and Lucy & Yak aren't fashion. I have both.

I'm not really sure why the fact that you personally own something means it's not a fashion item.
Crocs are definitely in at the moment where I live, especially with teens and tweens.
Lucy and Yak are as much of a fad as, for example, Nike pros, they're just popular with a different demographic.
The fact that it's 'quirky' middle class women who like everyone to know how ethical they are who wear L&Y rather than youngsters doesn't make it less of a trend, it's just more accepted to mock teen fashion.

Another vote for cropped. Also vote for transparent. I do not want to wear a cami under everything.

DuchessOfSausage · 18/08/2023 18:26

@IDriveMySupernova , they're called cold shoulder tops, but the one I mean had oval shaped holes, usually with a pale potato shaped bare shoulder poking out.

woodhill · 18/08/2023 18:28

Also with button front fashion no proper plackets apart from Crew clothing

I didn't say that they weren't fashion items because I had some. I said:
Crocs and Lucy & Yak aren't fashion. I have both.
I could have said 'A raincoat is useful. I have one.' - it doesn't say that my having one is what makes it useful.
My Lucy & Yaks aren't actually by L&Y just very similar, and I've had them years. Dungarees don't seem to be all that popular around here. I've had my crocs for years too. They're just practical.
I meant they aren't fashion, they're just clothes worn by some people.
Crocs seem to be worn by a few where I live, compared to previous years when they were only worn my little kids.

AppleTurnover1000Degrees · 18/08/2023 18:52

Yes crocs are very on trend with the younger generation and also with campervaners. I see them everywhere.

They've made a come back after my generation thinking they were awful.

AppleTurnover1000Degrees · 18/08/2023 19:13

Cowboy boots - my friend's Daughter who is very quirky fashionable is wearing one of pur other friends old cowboy boots and she looks fab in them.

DuchessOfSausage · 18/08/2023 19:14

@AppleTurnover1000Degrees , Crocs are great for going to the beach. Not so good for camping as walking through damp grass means you get wet feet, but I'd definitely take them with me.

I didn't think polo shirts were fashionable - don't they just fill that gap when a regular t-shirt is slightly too casual and a shirt too formal?

Polo shirts aren't in fashion as they have been worn for years. I was just wondering why a PP thought they were awful or even mentioned them. Polo shirts never went out.

What I meant with crocs is that younger people used to laugh at them but the new generation think they are cool.

AppleTurnover1000Degrees · 18/08/2023 19:20

The campervaners seem to wear them when it's dry and switch to wellies or boots when it rains. I've got the ankle wellies.

DuchessOfSausage · 18/08/2023 19:32

Ah! I see. I have ankle wellies but they're not crocs. I wear crocs as slippers. Might wear them to pop to the corner shop but not as streetwear. I see people wearing them in the supermarket but not so much otherwise, but sliders with socks seem everywhere.

IDriveMySupernova · 18/08/2023 19:36

I really don’t like the crop top trend as bellybuttons freak me out.

The youngsters wear crocs like sliders - with pulled up ankle socks.
